Holy shit I thought we were caught. I wasn’t expecting Kodi to walk into my office. I should have expected it since the competition was postponed today. I had asked Mauku, Ino, Kekipi, Dad and Duncan to come to my office. I wanted their opinion on something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. I have been thinking about asking Kodi to marry me. As it stands we marked each other and that is that is needed for werewolves. Kodi has not ever said anything about getting married but I have seen her staring at a few women’s rings that had just gotten engaged. I know that my sister and Ellie are busy planning their weddings. Fey do things differently. I also think that making Dani their wife means they get to spoil her even more with shiny shit. Dani has always loved shiny shit so an engagement ring and a wedding ring are right up her alley. The only piece of jewelry that Kodi wears is that necklace that Andy gave her. She loves it even if the magic it once held no longer works. I will admit that the stone is unique and beautiful.

“Damn that was close earlier. I thought she had caught us.” Duncan comments.

“Fuck so did I. I know she is suspicious, but won’t say anything. I just hope I can pull this off.” I groan.

“You will be fine son. She might be irritated at you for being vague, but once she sees that ring she be fine.” Dad points out.

“That is true. Now I just have to decide what kind of stone I want and the style.” I sigh.

“Talk with Zhamaxin and I will talk with Yamyna. I think a ring that has a little bit of each of her heritages would be good.” Dad states.

That is a damn good idea. I will never tell him because it will make his ego even bigger, but my Dad has some damn good ideas every so often. Again I will never admit that because that will make him a smug bastard. I laugh as I watch Mauku, Fern, and Kodi playing some video game in our game room. Kodi is doing pretty damn good, but poor Fern looks lost and so confused. He is a good guy, but I doubt he has played that many video games in his life. He would rather read. I may have to take away the video game when I hear Kodi start yelling at Mauku who in turn yells back at her. If it was anyone else I would have their ass for yelling at my little copper flame and their Luna, but all of them are so damn close that I know it is just them giving each other shit. Beside if anyone was to disrespect her my little copper flame would put them in their place. She is not afraid of anyone here. She has no need to be and most if not all of the pack as seen more or less what she is capable of. I am sure we have not seen the true scope of her powers, but what I have seen is pretty damn impressive and down right frightening. I glance up when I feel eyes on me. My eyes connect with hers and I get lost in those burning flames of hers. They really do look like a burning fire. She shoots me a smile making me respond with a smile of my own. I have no idea how I got so damn lucky, but I thank the goddess every night that Kodi is mine.

“What are you hiding?” I asked.

Kodi and Mauku had just got home from the second day of the competition. I hadn’t been able to go because of some meetings at work that I couldn’t reschedule. Several of the guys and Dad attended to make sure they both had a cheering section of their own.

“I am not hiding anything. Why do you ask?” She replies.

“My little copper flame, first off I can smell something different in this room and two you are being way to sweet and acting way to innocent. Now tell me what you are hiding.” I comment.

She lets out a huff and stomps into the bathroom. I know it isn’t Uahi, because I am used to his scent, but this is different. I hear a mewl and that has my hackles up and senses on high. Kodi walks out with a fluffy solid black kitten with the bluest eyes I have ever seen. The only think I can do is stare at her as she walks closer with the little beast in her arms.

“I found him at the beach. I was walking back to my car and hear a noise. He was caught in a piece of an old fishing net and half submerged in ocean water. If he wouldn’t have meowed I would have thought the little thing was dead. I couldn’t leave him there so I freed him brought him back here and cleaned him up. He reminds me of Blade. Solid black with stunning blue eyes, just in cat form instead of wolf.” She explained.

Well shit, I can’t help but feel sorry for the little thing. I wish people wouldn’t leave shit like that lying around. I can tell she wants to keep it. I bend down to look at it closer and the little thing swats my nose then licks it. Blade is growling in my mind but not in an aggressive way. I decide to test the little thing. I shift into Blade making Kodi let out a yelp of surprise. She sets the little thing down. The tiny fluffy solid black kitten pads right up to Blade and starts rubbing against him purring. I can feel Blade’s tail wagging. I shift back and slip into a pair of boxers.

“It can stay. Blade doesn’t seem to mind it and the tiny little thing has no fear of him. I am sure how he will react to all the others but hell what is one more pet around here. At least this can’t fly.” I told her.

Kodi lets out a squeal and jumps into my arms. The kitten lets our a small high pitched meow and climbs onto the bed. Looks like we will be going shopping for pet supplies after the competition tomorrow. I have no idea how she got the few things she already has for the little guy, but there is a food and water dish in our bathroom along with a tiny litter box. I wonder how Uahi will take to the newest addition. Dad is going to give me so much shit for this as will the guys. I don’t care. She is smiling and looks happy with the little thing sitting in her lap as she sits on our bed. It will be interesting to see how he responds to a whole pack of wolves.

Alpha Aaron

I knew Kodi wasn’t going to say anything, but I had seen the way she had stared at a few of the women that had gotten engaged. She knew that her and Reign marking each was good enough for wolves, but Kodi isn’t a wolf and in both fey and witch/warlock society they do marry and exchange rings. I could tell she wanted this but didn’t want to say anything. I took it upon myself to say something to Reign, but to my surprise he had already thought of it. I guess I wasn’t the only one to notice her staring at the newly engaged women’s rings. This is how we found ourselves meeting with Zhamaxin and some guy he brought with him.

“Okay what is this about?” Zhamaxin asked.

“I am going to ask Kodi to marry me, but I want a ring that signifies her heritage plus mine.” Reign explained.

“I thought you might know someone that could help Reign design a ring that would be a little bit of fey, witch, and wolf.” I added.

Zhamaxin hates this place but once Reign told him that he wanted to propose to Kodi his entire demeanour changed. Sappy old man.

“I do happen to know someone that can help you with this.” Zhamaxin told us.

He pulled out his phone and started speaking to someone. I could hear a woman's voice on the other end of the line giving Zhamaxin shit. I couldn’t help but laugh which won me a glare form him. The conversation ended as quickly as it started.

“Delany will be here shortly.” Zhamaxin says.

All I could do was shake my head. I should have known he would have someone drop whatever they were doing to come here and speak with us. Reign looks at him like he has lost his mind. He may have. About a half an hour later a women comes walking in with Calder following behind. Thankfully Rory and Vance aren’t with him.

“Okay why was I summoned here.” The woman asked.

“These two gentlemen here are Alpha Reign and his father Alpha Aaron. Alpha Reign needs a one of a kind ring to propose to my granddaughter with.” Zhamaxin says.

“If you tell dip shit and dumb ass about this I swear...” Reign growls.

“Don’t worry. Unlike my two clueless kings I can keep a secret. I won’t be telling anyone.” Calder replies.

Reign and Delany discuss what type of ring he is looking for as sit back and look around. I notice a nice seaside building that would be a perfect place for their wedding. I know Kodi will want somewhere near water.

“You should include styles that merpeople would incorporate in the ring. Remember she might not have that much in her but Kodi does have mermaid in her.” I point out.

“Already thought of that.” Reign states.

“And where the hell were the two of you today?” Kodi hisses.

“We had some meetings to attend and a couple of the old assholes still refuse to talk with me. They will only talk with Dad.” Reign grumbles.

She squints her eyes at us and I am not sure if she buys the shit my son is spewing form his mouth. She eventually huffs, turns around and walks away. They must have just gotten back from the last day of the competition. Kodi was still in her surf attire. I am sure she is on her way to shower and get all the sand off of her. Reign heads off to his office. Kodi’s old professor is due to arrive in a few days. She was supposed to be here close to two weeks ago, but shit happened and she had to hide out at a cousins place until she could safely come here. I guess her stalker is becoming bolder. My wolf, Aka, has been acting weird lately. He has been very agitated. I haven’t heard much from him since my mate died. I was surprised that I hadn’t lost him when I lost her and her wolf, but I think having Reign and Dani kept him from dying.

“Is the room for our guest read?” I asked.

“Yes, Alpha, the room is ready for her.” One of the omegas told me.

I nodded at him. I made damn sure that this room was ready for her. I am not sure why I am this invested in making sure she feels welcome and safe, but the thougtht of her not liking it here concerns me. I twist around when loud bang echos from down stairs.

“What in the ever loving fuck are you idiots doing?” Kodi growls.

“We were watching a soccer match and this fucker started talking shit.” Fern says.

“So all of you thougtth a full on fucking wrestling match in a room that barely holds all of you would be a superb idea. Fucking hell maybe I should run the pack.” She mumbles.

“We didn’t break anything my little copper flame.” Reign points out.

“No unless you count Ino’s arm pointing in the wrong fucking direction. It’s like living with my fucking brothers.” Kodi groans.

I walk away laughing. She looks to be handling them well. I swear those boys haven’t grown up yet, and now they have dragged Fern into their shit. I hear some yelling and what sounds like someone getting smacked. Yep, there it is, someone just yelp and it serves them right. I am too old for this shit.
