The Missing Princess

Ugg, what the hell. I feel like I have been ran over by a fucking bus. My whole body aches and I don’t think I have even been this exhausted in all my life. My back is killing me so I try to turn over, but something is preventing me. I mildly start to freak out, but what ever is holding me down pulls me against something hard and warm. My flight or fight response begins to kick in until I feel those familiar sparks lick at my skin calming me down.

“Reign?” I asked.

“Hush my little copper flame. It is way to damn early to be awake.” He slurs.

I pull myself from his hold as I sat up. Which by the way pissed my back off. He cracks an eye open as he rolls onto his back. I climb on top of him holding his face in my hands. I look at him making sure that he is alright as he wipes tears from my face. I had no idea I was even crying. He was fine and I lost my shit as I buried my face in his chest.

“I am fine my little copper flame. When you found the car I was unconscious, but fine.” Reign told me.

“You looked dead. I was so scared. Those assholes caused that.” I cried.

“Everything is fine. You killed all but one and he is currently in our cells waiting for me to talk with him. The other guys and Dad have tried to get him to talk but so far he hasn’t said a word.” Reign explained.

“He hasn’t said anything in 24 hours?” I asked.

“Baby you have been asleep for three days. You wake up, and barely at that, to use the bathroom and I was able to get you to eat, but that is it.” Reign told me.

Three days, well that explains why my back was killing me. Reign explains what happened these last three days and I am shocked. I am not sure how I feel about being asleep that long. I am not surprised that he gave me a bath or two while I was asleep. I climb off him and I don’t miss the large bulge that rubs against my thigh. If I still didn’t feel half asleep and weak as shit I might not let that go to waist, but right now I need a shower. I am not surprised when Reign steps into the shower behind me. I am secretly thankful that he does. I damn near drop the bottle of shampoo as I tried to wash my hair.

“Don’t worry my little copper flame. After a few good meals and being up and active you will regain your strength. Chiron said that you used a shit ton of power to deal with those assholes that caused the accident and then you wondered around the pack delirious and confused looking for me so you used power that you didn’t have. You exhausted yourself out.” Reign points out.

“Point taken.” I replied.

As if to make a point itself, my stomach chooses that time to let out a very loud rumbling growl. I can’t help but turn red as Reign starts laughing. I smack his chest as he wraps me in a towel. A small scream escapes from me as he picks me up and carries me into our closet. He set me down on my feet as he walked over to grab some clothes for me. I rolled my eyes when he handed me a very sexy and lacy matching bra and panty set. All I got in return was that damn smirk. I laughed as he squatted down looking at me then at his back. That is how we entered the dining room. Everyone was there and they were thrilled that I was awake.

“Finally our surfing buddy is back.” Mauku comments.

“Yeah, she won’t be surfing for a while.” Reign states.

I would normally be pissed at someone answering for me, but he was right. While I was itching to get back to the waves I also knew I wasn’t up to it yet. Chiron took a quick look at me and said while I was better that I was still recovering and to take it easy for a while. Ino pulled out his phone and showed me what I had done at the scene of the car accident. No one had a video of the hospital incident, but they were very descriptive about it.

“You didn’t hurt anyone, but that aura you had rolling off you brought all of us to our knees. We should probably ask your grandparents about it.” Chiron told me.

"What about Jori?" Ino asked.

"I hurt Jori?" I asked.

"You tossed him into the wall when he tried to stop you from leaving the hospital, but he is fine. I do have a Jori sized hole in the wall that I need to fix." Chiron explained.

“I also would like to know why I can hear voices when shit goes dark.” Reign adds.

“I can control the shadows. They speak to me. You are my mate which means they trust you and they have decided to let you hear them. They won’t hurt any of you. In fact they will protect the pack. I can say without a doubt that they are watching the borders and will alert me if anyone or anything seem suspicious.” I explained.

I can tell that everyone is confused and I can’t blame them. Fey are a very secretive race and have only recently started to mingle with the other supernaturals again. Fey was almost as secretive as the Elves. They still won’t socialise with others. I sat here for a few trying to figure out how to explain this.

“Dark fey has control over everything associated with darkness. That includes the shadows, darkness itself and death. Light fey controls all things related to light. Witches or warlocks can do both depending what type of magic they study more. However saying that all three beings are connected to nature.” I say.

I open my hand placing a nut in it. I make the nut sprout then die then bring it back to life. I show them how I can control all elements related to darkness, so fire/smoke, shadows, electricity, and lava. Then I show them how I can control all things related to light. I obviously have my normal fey magic.

“As far as my dad’s side goes I am a normal witch, but since I am from the original family my powers are stronger. I can also control water which I am guessing I get from my mermaid blood.” I comment.

“Have you ever used that power while surfing especially during a competition?” Kekipi asked.

“Yes, but not to win. I used it to make sure the weather was good and that the wildlife didn’t hurt anyone. I never used it to my advantage. I wanted everyone to be safe and make it fair to all who entered.” I explained.

“You can talk with animals?” Reign asked.

“Sort of. I am not fucking Dr. Doolittle or anything like that but I can make them understand what I want. I don’t control them, it is more like mutual understanding. Now animals in the sea are different. I can somewhat talk with them.” I admit.

We continue to discuss this as we eat. They all seem very interested in what I can do and they aren’t judging me about it. Of course, I made sure to make it seem as if we are having a normal conversation. I am starting to think there is someone within the pack might be saying shit to whoever is responsible. The fact that Mandy and her crazy fucking aunt are still MIA isn’t helping. I haven’t brought this up to Reign yet and with everything that has happened in the last few days I think I might wait unless someone forces my hand. I would still like to talk with Yesayrina and her brothers. They might be able to answer some questions better than I can. Ino is still going on about the shadows descending on the room when I showed them that particular power.

Reign

I was going to call her grandparent’s but Yesayrina and her brothers were able to answer most of our questions. I am still not sure how I feel about the shadows talking to me, but at least I know I am not losing my damn mind. I kind of had a feeling that was what was happening, but I wanted confirmation form someone. I am somewhat surprised that Rory and Vance haven’t shown up here lately. It has been over a month since we last saw them. Dani calls Dad all the time to let him know she is doing well. I am waiting for him to tell me that those two knocked her up. I look at the clock nervously. This is the first day that Kodi has been back on the waves. It took her another three days to return to being her normal self, but I am still concerned that she isn’t fully recovered yet.

-She wouldn’t have went if she still felt weak. - Blade

-Okay, fine. Now what do you think about this lead on Mandy? - Me

-I think we should look into it more. They were able to get a picture of her and who we think is her Aunt. - Blade

-True, I will contact the leader of the werebears in that area that sent us this information and see what else he can tell me. - Me

I shoot off an email to the leader. I am not sure how long I will have to wait for his reply. I jump when a loud knock reverberates through my office. I tell whoever it is to come in. Ino walks in and I know by the look on his face that this is something serious.

“I did a little more digging on that asshole that rejected Ellie. Eros is the son of Zenos. He was in his last year when she started at the college. I still have not located Zenos.” Ino told me.

“Okay, so why the pissed off look?” I asked.

“Remember at the surfing competition when we first saw Kodi and those two guys were being assholes and saying that she shouldn’t have been allowed to enter. Well the one running his mouth was Eros and the other guy was his friend Jeremy. I have no idea how we didn’t know, and I have no idea how Kodi didn’t pick up on their power.” Ino explained.

“Fuck, she probably didn’t think about it since he isn’t as powerful as her and since if the rumours or correct his mother is a witch. She is around both supernaturals and humans daily in town and at the beach so she wouldn’t have thought much about it. He thought she was human so she had no reason to worry about his powers.” I point out.

“She still should have picked up on their family link. It was clear that her and the twins picked up on each others family link as soon as she walked into your office that day.” Ino comments.

Shit that is true. I have no idea why she wouldn’t have felt their family link or why he wouldn’t have felt the link. I tell him the only thing I can think of is that if her grandparents disowned him and severed their link with Zenos that Eros and Kodi wouldn’t have felt the link to each other. I picked up the phone and called her grandfather. I explained what we knew, but asked him to keep it to himself for now until we found out more about Eros and where Zenos had been hiding. He did confirm that he had severed the family link to Zenos when he was thrown out of the kingdom and disowned by the family. He told us that he would keep it to himself and that he would look into a few things himself.

“Do you think he knows where Zenos is?” Ino asked.

“No, but he may have contact around the world that we don’t. The more people we have looking for him the better our chances are of finding the fucker.” I told him.

I knew her grandfather wasn’t lying, call it my superpower and I had also asked the shadows and they told me that that family had no idea where Zenos was. I heard her laughter as Ino and I walked out of my office along with Mauku and Kekipi’s hyena laughter. Those two are ridiculous. I told Ino to keep it to himself until we know more. I don’t need Kodi stressed right now.
