The Missing Princess

Reign

It has been three weeks since we learned that Mandy and her aunt left her pack. No one has been able to track them and the alpha of her aunts pack decided to sever their link to the pack. They are now rogues. All the packs in that area have been notified and they are aware that if they show up those two are to be immediately sent back to that pack. I had no idea which direction they would head of in so I even contacted a few packs I knew in the Midwest, in the South, and along the East Coast. I still haven’t told anyone about what Ino found out about that Eros fucker. If he is the son of Zenos then Ellie dodged a bullet when he rejected her. Thank god she was still 17 and the bond hadn’t formed on her side. She is much better off with Calder, and I know that he treats like a princess. Speaking of princesses, I wonder where my pretty little Luna is.

-Where are you?.- Me

-At the café with Fern and Ino. I have no idea why Ino came with us, he is clearly bored. I am working on my book. Fern emailed it back to me yesterday afternoon and I am making the corrections he instructed me to make. You might have to find a new beta since your current one is sitting here whining and being annoying in general.- Kodi

-Okay I will link him to come back here so he stops bothering the two of you. Fern should tell him to go home.- Me

-He tried but I think Ino is still being this way cause he hasn’t marked Fern yet. And before you ask I am not sure why they haven’t completed their bond. I do know after talking with Fern a few says ago and explaining what I know about his family that I think it would be a good idea for Eli to come here and talk with him. Fern told me that he had talked to his mother but she has no idea about the truth of her family tree.- Kodi

-I will contact Eli and ask him and his guys to come here to speak with Fern. I would like to know why his mother knows nothing of their family.- Me

-Sounds good. I will be home in a few hours. Want me to bring dinner?- Kodi

-No, the kitchen staff said it is Greek food night. Don’t be to long.- Me

-I won’t. There is no way I will miss Greek food night.- Kodi

She cuts the link and I link Ino and tell him to either come back to the pack house or sit there and shut up. I let him know that his Luna didn’t appreciate the whining and said he was being annoying. He said that he was going to leave anyways since he had a couple of errands to do. I am sure Kodi was glaring at him which reinforced what I was saying. I shake my head as I return to my work. I have had to go into the office all week. I don’t like leaving the pack right now with all this shit going on but I had no choice. This is the only day that Ino hasn’t been here. I take a quick look out my window and notice that the weather isn’t looking so great. It looks like a storm is on its way. Not that I am surprised since it is that time of year here. I link Shay telling him to ready the car. I don't want to be stuck in traffic in this shit weather.

“Shit, that damn storm blew in fast.” I grumble.

“Yes, it did Alpha.” Shay says.

“Looks like everyone had the same idea. The traffic is fucking shitty.” Shay mumbles.

“Agreed, be careful Shay. We need to get home but we don’t need to race to get there. The roads are going to be slick with water.” I point out.

Shay nods at me as we continue to to fight the traffic. Once I heard the rain start coming down hard I decided that anymore work can and would be done from home. We finally make it out of the city. There is still some traffic but it has thinned significantly. I see Shay keep glancing at the rear view mirror.

“What the fuck?” I asked.

“We are being followed. I can’t see who is driving since the tint on the windows is so damn dark. They have been following us for at least five minutes, but they could have been following us since we left the building, but because of the traffic I didn’t notice. Sorry Alpha.” Shay explained.

“Understandable, I wouldn’t have noticed them either with all that fucking traffic. Just keep aware. I am going to call the others and let them know.” I told Shay.

I go to grab my phone when the car lurches forward. I let out a growl and Shay shoves his foot down on the gas pedal to try and put some distance between us and the assholes behind us.

<Someone is following us. They just hit the back of the car. Me>

<WHAT? WHO? Ino>

<I don’t know who. Shay can’t see anything because the cars windows are tinted to damn dark to see anything. Me>

<Where are you? Mauku>

<About two miles outside the boarder. The fuckers are still behind us. Me>

<We are on our way. Kekipi>

<Okay, Shay has the gas pedal all the way...>

I felt the car lurch forward again and this time the wheels spun out of control. I hear Shay growl as he tries to regain control, but the road is too damn wet and slick. I reach to grab something to brace myself from the accident I know is imminent. Shay turns the car into the spin as it slides across the road and over the embankment. I yelled at Shay to lay down across the seat so when the car rolls we more or less roll with it. I have no idea how many times the car rolled but it came to an abrupt stop. I guess we must have slammed into a tree. I hear a groan but I am not sure if it was me or Shay. I catch movement out of the corner of my eye as a loud screech is heard. I finally succumb to the darkness.

Ino

The moment that Reign’s voice cut off within the link the three of us took off. We knew where he was and we shifted tearing our clothes in the process. Alpha Aaron saw us and asked what the hell we were doing in the link. Kekipi explained what happened as we took off towards where Reign and Shay should be. I knew Alpha Aaron would send out an ass load of our warriors but we needed to get there now. I was trying my hardest to not let Kodi know what was going on. I knew she would be pissed, but the three of us had a feeling that whoever was behind this was after her. It had gotten remarkably quiet once the storm settled over the island. We heard the squealing of the wheels so I knew we were close. I told Ohu to go faster when I heard a loud crash. The three of us broke through and onto the road where they should have been. I saw tire marks like someone was trying to stop and followed them to the other side of the road. As we stepped onto the gravel a large dark shape flew in front of us. I let out a growl but the creature wasn’t afraid of the three of us.

<It’s Uahi. Mauku>

<Shit I hope that doesn’t mean what I think it means. Me>

<There is no way he would have enough time to fly back to the pack house and back here. Kekipi>

Before I could reply the ground started to shake. Shit, it was already dark but somehow it got darker and when a bolt of lightning hit the ground a foot in front of us I knew Kodi was here. The wind picked up and I swear I heard voices within it. I was able to see another car along the side of the road. These must be the assholes that were following Reign and Shay. We slowly and carefully make our way down the embankment. When we made it to the bottom I could see the car. We quickly shifted and hurried to the car. We saw Shay in the front laying across the seat. I could see he was breathing but he was unconscious. Kekipi told us that Reign was in the back seat unconscious but breathing. As I was trying to pull Shay out more of our pack showed up. Alpha Aaron was with them and told us to follow him.

“FUCK.” Mauku yelled.

Kodi is standing there. Her eyes are glowing and look like a raging fire. There is so much magic floating in the air it is making me physically ill. Her damn royal aura is gushing out of her in waves bringing me to my knees.

“YOU DARE COME ONTO MY ISLAND AND TARGET MY PACK. YOU HURT MY MATE AND MY FRIEND. THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING AND ONLY ONE OF YOU WILL BE LEAVING HERE ALIVE TO TELL YOUR BOSS I AM COMING FOR HIM.” Kodi screeches.

Anything not attached to the ground is floating in the air. The fucking forest has come alive and is attacking the men responsible for this. I try to stand up but with no luck. Hell, even Alpha Aaron is on his knees. My eyes go wide as I watch one of the guys start to melt. Like actually melt like a piece of fucking chocolate. The shadows are dancing around and grab another guy engulfing them, but when the guy is released his is a pile of bones. They are trying to escape in every direction with no luck. Our Luna is pissed and she is not holding back. A wave of water crashed into another one as he runs effectively drowning him in the middle of the fucking forest. I can feel her aura slowly fading. The last guy is able to get away like she said one would. I rush to her as her eyes roll into the back of her head and catch her as she drops into my arm unconscious.

“She used a shit ton of power and is exhausted. Reign and Shay are already back at the pack hospital. I have my car up the hill. She needs to be checked and I have already link Chiron to have a bed set up in Reign’s room for her. It will help both of them to be close.” Alpha Aaron explains.

I pick her up as we start back up the hill. Kekipi and Mauku climb into the back seat and take her from me laying her across their laps as Alpha Aaron puts the car in drive and heads to the pack hospital.

Reign

I let out a groan as my eyes open. Fuck, why does it hurt to move? That is when it all comes back to me. Leaving work, being followed and the accident. I try to sit up but my body screams in pain with every little movement.

“Just stay still. You will be fine. Before you ask Shay is fine. Neither of you had any major injuries and your wolves have healed most of them already. The two of you are going to be sore for a few days.” Dad told me.

I nod at him as I turn my head to look out the window. I lost my shit when I see my little copper flame laying motionless in the bed near me. I don’t see any wounds on her but I swear if there is one scratch or bruise on her flawless skin I will tear someone apart.

“She is fine son. Uahi somehow found you and Shay and let her know what had happened. By the time Ino, Mauku, Kekipi and I got to where you and Shay were she was already there and lets just say that we all got to witness her use her powers.” Dad explained.

“We already saw that when we rescued Dani and Ellie.” I state.

“Not like this.” Dad replied.

He pulls put his phone and scrolls through something before handing it to me. I have no idea who shot the video but holy fucking hell. I thought I saw her use power before, but dad is right. The last time what nothing compared to this.

“Then why is she in the hospital?” I asked.

“She exhausted herself using all that power. She more or less drained her batteries and it will take a few days to a week for her to fully recover. She will be staying here at least over night along with you and Shay. Before you ask yes the two of you can share a bed it will help the two of you recover faster and help her fell more secure. She is more or less human until she fully recovers.” Chiron comments.

I nod at him as Dad picks Kodi up and sets her down beside me. She immediately curls herself into the side of my body making me wince but I will deal with the pain. Blade and I need her close right now. I can faintly hear Blade purring in my mind with her this close with us. I slowly and carefully turn on to my side as I hear Dad and Chiron walk out of the room. I lay my arm across her waist as she snuggles in even closer to me. As sleep takes me I swear I hear whispers in my room.
