I am furious. I can’t believe Reign mated and marked that bitch. I have been trying for years to convince Reign to take me as a chosen mate, but he refused me at every turn. I even spoke with my aunt about it several times. She had spoken with her good friend that is a witch and she had given us elixir after elixir to try and convince him to take me as his chosen, but nothing worked. I had successfully chased off any she wolf that showed even the slightest bit of interest in him. Things were going well until that bitch showed up. I had rejected my fated mate for him.

“I don’t understand why nothing we gave him worked.” I whine.

“I don’t either but I did speak with Ulmina and she believes that either he is immune to magic or that he has magic in his blood line. I have looked into Reign’s family on both sides and I can’t find a trace of magic. There is no explanation why our shit didn’t work on Reign.” Aunt Dominita states.

“And you are certain that Reign and that little whore completed their bond?” Aunt Dominita asked.

“Yes, Leslie called to let me know. She also sent a video of her Luna ceremony. Their marks were clearly visible. I don’t understand what he sees in her. She is obviously not human with what all those videos that Elise sent me, but her scent is that of a human.” I explained.

“Yes, that much is true, but the question is what type of supernatural is she?” Aunt Dominita asked.

“Kodi is a dark/light fey and witch hybrid.” Zenos says.

My aunt and I turned around so find him and his mate Dobrita standing there. They walked over to where we were and sat down. Coming here to find them was my Aunts idea. I wasn’t overly thrilled with the idea. I had heard numerous rumours about Zenos, but never paid much attention to them since no one had seen him in years.

“My sister Estella and her mate Jasper hid her from the family. They had numerous ultrasounds but the child was never in the right position to tell if it was a boy or girl. They happen to be visiting Alpha Aaron, who was a very close friend of Jasper’s when she went into labour. Estella and Jasper placed two consecutive glamours on her to make her appear to be a male child. Before Jasper died he was able to smuggle her out of the kingdom and to another of his life long friends Randy who raised her until his death when Kodi was 12. Randy told her to go somewhere and she had disappeared until the pack found her when some of the fucking idiots that worked for me kidnapped her, Alpha Aaron’s daughter Dani and her friend Ellie. I believe that Alpha Reign found her before that when he went to some surfing competition that another member of the pack was in. He caught her scent and realised she was his mate.” Zenos explained.

“I thought light and dark fae didn’t like each other?” I asked.

“For the most part that is true. Our family and two of the dark fey families have always been close. One of the dark fey princes developed an obsession with my grandmother. He raped her, but was caught afterwards and both family's disowned him and he was put to death by his family. Jasper was a pure warlock. His family is a direct descendant of their goddess.” Zenos explained.

“That makes Kodi extremely powerful. What you saw in those video’s is the tip of the iceberg of what she is capable of. That is why Dobrita and I can’t step foot onto any of the Hawaiian Islands. She would instantly feel our power.” Zenos added.

“That explains that weird alpha-like aura she is able to cast out. She released it once and it brought me to my knees.” I admit.

“Yes, that is both her royal aura and aura from her power. All our family is able to cast an aura like that, but hers is much more powerful and if she pushed it enough it could kill.” Zenos states.

“Okay, this all makes sense, but her hair and eye colour are not from either fae line.” Aunt Dominita points out.

“We are still trying to figure that part out not to mention her glowing eyes and speed. Fey are fast but her speed could blow any fey out of the water. I would say it was the fact that we know that the dark fey prince had mermaid in his blood line from an ancestor being mated to one of the merprinces. However they are like dark fey. The majority of their powers and abilities are passed from mother to daughter.” Zenos told us.

“That is why she is such a good surfer. The guys are always talking about her so I did follow them with a couple of of my friends to the beach one day. I will admit she is fucking amazing.” I state.

“So now what? Mandy and I willing left my pack and I am sure our alpha has alerted Alpha Reign by now that we have disappeared. I wouldn’t be surprised if he cuts our connection to the pack making us rogues.” Aunt Dominita commented.

“Your father is still in the Ahi Mokupuni pack is there no way he would help you considering you are his daughter.” Dobrita asked.

“No I challenged that little whore when Reign announced her as his mate and Luna. That was supposed to be my fucking position. She kicked my ass but let me live which I think had to do with dad. I know she likes and respects him. Dad shipped me to live with Aunt Dominita.” I answered.

All eyes turn to Aunt Dominita. I knew that she had been born and raised in our pack, but that something had happened. I tried to ask my father once what had happened to make Aunt Dominita leave the pack and not want to talk with us, but he said that her and Mom had a falling out before I was born.

“My sister Melaynia and I were born and raised in the Ahi Mokupuni pack. We were the daughters of the delta at the time. I have a brother that lives in Germany. He found his mate at a mating ball and moved there. She was the daughter of the packs beta. He was given the beta spots since the beta family at the time was unable to have more children. I haven’t spoke to him since Melaynia found Ranu which was two years before Mandy was born.” Aunt Dominita told us.

“Melaynia and I were close with Aaron, Chiron the gamma, Konor the beta and the previous delta. I was positive that Aaron and I would be mates. He went to some alpha training thing and Melaynia begged me to go to a mating ball after she turned 18. I was a year older than them so I had already turned 18 I was just waiting on Aaron to turn 18. Melaynia was a year younger than the guys. When Aaron came back from his training he had turned 18 while there it was obvious that we weren’t mates. I tried for months to convince him to chose me as his chosen mate but he refused. He wanted his fated mate. Melaynia turned 18 while she was visiting one of our cousins. I was hoping that she would be Aaron’s mate, but I joined her at a mating ball a few weeks later. Ranu had attended as well but I didn’t know that. Him and Melaynia found each other that night. I tried to convince her to reject him telling her I would talk with a friend of mine who is a witch and we could have her come up with something to convince Aaron that she was his mate. She refused and Ranu and her completed their bond later that night. When we returned to the pack our parents were thrilled with their mating. I knew my sister and I could do better. We deserved a mate with a rank. I had spoken with my friend about some sort of spell of elixir to convince Aaron that I was his mate and he just didn’t realise it sooner, but when we returned he had already found his mate and with in six months she was pregnant. I refused to stay there so I came to my mothers birth pack.” Aunt Dominita explained.

“My mate ended up being one of the higher ranked warriors in that pack, but I rejected him. I wouldn’t except anyone that wasn’t of rank. I tried to convince the alpha’s son that I would be the perfect chosen mate for him, but even he wouldn’t take someone that wasn’t his chosen mate. Eventually the gamma of the pack and I took each other as chosen mates. When Mandy was born I was devastated that Melaynia had passed away not long after Mandy’s birth. I knew the future alpha had been born a year earlier. I went back to the pack to help Ranu and to make sure that Mandy knew she shouldn’t settle for anyone that was not a ranked member. I even had my friend make an elixir to help convince the future alpha from a young age that he and Mandy should and would be mates, but none of the elixirs or even spells that we tried worked.” Aunt Dominita added.

Damn I had no idea she did all that for me. I had always had a crush on Reign, but he never seemed to notice me. I bet Zenos knows why nothing we tried worked. Hell I even tried drugging him once and having my way with him not to mention convincing him to mark me but it didn’t work. I watch as Zenos takes all this information in before he lets out a sigh.

I wasn’t surprised to hear that Mandy and Dominita were what we call rank chasers. Every supernatural species has them. They want to be mated or married to someone with power. They don’t care about that person they just want the title and power behind the title. I actually think it was fantastic that Kodi beat the hell out of Mandy but I will not tell them this. To know they went to the extent they did and nothing worked was strange. Dobrita asked who the witch was and Dominita told her. We know her and she is a strong and powerful witch which makes the fact that nothing worked even more strange.

“Is it possible that Reign and Kodi met when they were very young?” I asked.

“I mean I guess but I don’t remember seeing her until she showed up on the big island six or seven years ago. I do know that some guy visited with a very young boy when I was five making Reign and Ino seven at the time.” Mandy told me.

Now it all makes sense. I have a feeling that Kodi and Reign’s bond started at that first meeting when they so young. Neither of them would know what it was but they would feel a need to hang around each other. Reign would feel a need to be around and protect Kodi even though she doesn’t need it.

“That wasn’t a little boy, that was Kodi with the glamour’s that her parents had placed on her. Fey’s have a different way of finding their fated mate. While like all others we feel a pull towards someone, fey don’t have an age that this can happen. If the fey comes across their mate at a very young age they clearly won’t understand why they want to be around that person all the time or feel a need to protect that person. The bond starts when the fey sees their fated mate for the first time and those feelings start and grow stronger over time. The bond only solidifies when the fey touches their fated mate for the first time. I believe that when Kodi met Reign then they touched and their bond snapped into place. Of course with them both being so young, Reign would feel a need to be around her and protect her. That is why none of the shit you tried from your witch friend worked. With Kodi being both light and dark fey not to mention her witch powers which protected him from all forms of magic that might be used on him. If this is true then even if you somehow could have convinced Reign to take you as a chosen mate there would have never been a chance that the two of you could conceive. A fey can only become pregnant or get pregnant with their fated mates. If their bond was triggered that young then Kodi is the only one he will be able to have children with.” I explained.

Mandy looks like she is going to explode with rage. Even before she knew Kodi, Kodi was protecting Reign. Mandy jumps up and storms out of the room. Dominita follows shortly just as pissed. I would have thought that they would be more knowledgeable on shit like this but I now know they aren’t. I don’t trust them but I think they may be our best bet to gain access to Hawaii and to my niece.
