The Missing Princess

It’s weird, I don’t feel nervous at all to meet these people, but I was terrified of meeting my grandparents. The three that made contact with Noelani are apparently my cousins. Reign called my annoying brothers and told them. That prompted a call from my grandparents who want to be here. We are waiting for them them to arrive. My three cousins are walking over here with Mauku and Noelani. Reign let them stay in one of the unused cottages last night. He thought they would be more comfortable there than here at the pack house. Reign’s office door bursts open thanks to my annoying brothers.

“We could hear you two coming from the gate at the border.” Kekipi says.

“I’m pretty sure everyone on the mainland could here those two coming.” I mumble.

“How dare you talk to your kings like that.” Vance exclaimed.

“If you even remotely believe that I will bow down to you, then you are either fucking stupid or are on something that you should be sharing with us. Beside I am damn sure I could make you bow down to me before you could make me bow down to you.” I growl.

Dani slaps both of them on the back of the head before they can say anything. I have no idea how she deals with them. Grandfather lets out a snort when Dani looks at them then at two chairs. I burst out laughing when they sit their asses down quickly. Guess we know who wears the pants in their relationship.

“Must you be so violent towards us all the time?” Rory asked.

“Please as if you don’t like when she goes all dominatrix on your asses.” Ellie states.

“Okay, on that note, I will have Mauku bring the three of them here. There will be no more talk of my sisters sex life in my fucking presence.” Reign comments.

I nod in agreement. Dani and I made a agreement not to talk to each other about our sex lives. I don’t want to hear that shit about my brothers and she doesn’t want to hear that shit about her brother. Ellie tells us all about hers in our group chat. Naydeen and Noelani are also part of it. Fern joined to which made us crack up. Ino wasn’t thrilled when he found out that we knew that shit. I do ask grandmother if she remembers any of the family from that side.

“The only one I remember is Lawrence. I do know he had a mate and I know they had two kids, one being a son, but then shit happened and Lawrence was killed. I am not sure what happened to his mate or kids. I vaguely remember another but I can’t remember his name. I want to say it was Shamus or something like that.” She admits.

I smile at her because I can tell this is hard for her. I did a little research on the dark fey and it appeared like something disastrous happened and a large majority was killed or disappeared. The rest scattered to keep themselves safe. I told Reign this and he was as surprised that I was that someone or something attacked them like that. I believe it was an inside job. Mauku opens the door walking in followed by Noelani. I gasp when I see the three people behind her. There are two guys and girl. We stare at each other until a low growl rumbles from behind me. I feel Reign’s arms tighten around me.

“Will you fucking stop. They are my cousins you idiot.” I hiss.

He places his face in the crook of my neck taking a deep breath. I swear stupid possessive alpha. I elbow him in the side causing him to grunt. I hear the girl laugh at Reign's clear display of possessive alpha-holeness.

“Please ignore him, he is an idiot.” I told them.

Grandfather chuckles when I say this as the three of them sat down across from my grandparents. Grandmother hasn’t taken her eyes off the three of them since they walked in. I can tell she is dying to say something.

“Hello everyone let me introduce myself and my brothers. My name is Yesayrina and this is my older brother Damhlanor. Ghadalmar here is the oldest of all three of us. I would like to apologise on behalf of our family for what our great great uncle did your mother Queen Elymyna.” Yesayrina says.

“Oh my dear, you have nothing to apologise for. Your family apologised when it happened. Our family has never blamed yours for what happened. I would like to know what happened to your family. We had been told there had been an uprising and when my father and many of our warriors went to look for your family everyone was gone and the kingdom had been burnt to the ground.” Grandmother says.

“Your father was right. There was an uprising and it was found out that two of my uncle, our own father, and two of our cousins had joined forces with Zenos and conspired to wipe out the family. It was found that one of the cousins was the fated mate of our uncle who attacked your mother. No one knew that and she wanted revenge against the ones who killed him.” She explained.

“The members of our family that weren’t killed went into hiding or they were captured and sold into a trafficking ring. One of our cousins was bought by some psychotic alpha that used her for his powers. She was used and abused by him and his ranked members but was eventually rescued. She killed herself when she found out she was pregnant.” Damhlanor explained.

I let out a sob as I felt Reign’s arms tighten around me. I knew her I had been there when she had been rescued. I had been the one to find her dead. I had no idea she was my cousin and that just made it worse. I bury my face in Reign’s chest as he started stroking my back.

“Kodi was there when those three girls were found, including your cousin. She was there when she died.” Reign explained.

Yesayrina

As soon as Alpha Reign said that Kodi had been present when our cousin was rescued and when she killed herself my heart went out to her. The room was quiet as Alpha Reign calmed her down. Her grandfather walked over and knelt beside the huge alpha. He started whispering something to her. We waited patiently for Kodi to get herself together. I couldn’t fathom what she went through seeing that in person and now hearing that the girl she had seen and probably spoken with was her cousin, not that she knew that at the time.

“Sorry.” Kodi whispers.

“Don’t worry about it.” Ghadlamar says.

“Okay, so I can see the family resemblance between all of us, but that still doesn’t explain where Kodi’s hair and eye color come from. There as never before been any one in our family and last I knew red or copper hair and eye color like that didn’t exist in dark fae either.” Rory points out.

“Our great great Uncle Kolthador’s ancestor on his mothers side was forced into an arranged marriage to one of the princes of the merkingdom. She hated her husband because he was abusive and took many other lovers. She gave him several children one of which was a daughter who was the light of the whole kingdom. When the daughter was old enough she found out what her mother, who a few years earlier had killed herself, had went through with her father. The princess left the kingdom and disappeared. They had searched for years for her but with no luck. She turned up many years later as a fated mate to one of our ancestors. It was said that the prince had hair the color of copper and eyes like a roaring flame. This is where Kodi got her hair and eye color from. That is also where she got her love of water.” I explained.

“The copper hair and eyes that color show up every few generations. The last family member to have them was a cousin that was killed in the attack by Zenos.” Damhlanor states.

“Does Zenos know about you?” I ask.

“As far as I know he thinks I am a boy.” Kodi answered.

That has my brothers and I confused. Alpha Aaron explained what happened and how that came about. Honestly, it was genius of her parents to do that. I am surprised that the other fey didn’t sense the magic being used.

“Do you three know where Zenos has been hiding?” King Zhamaxin asked.

“Not exactly. The last we knew he was in Europe somewhere along with his fated mate. It is said that she is a witch, but we haven’t been able to confirm if that is true or not.” I told them.

“That is more information we have had since he left the castle. The last we place we knew he was happened to be somewhere in South America, but that was soon after he left the castle.” Queen Eymyna commented.

Once our conversation comes to an end Alpha Reign tells Noelani to walk us back to the cottage we stayed in last night. He does offer rooms within the pack house, but we like that cottage. We do tell them that we will need to return to our home to check if things are well. Alpha Reign lets us know we are welcome here in the pack anytime.

Reign

As I listened to Yesayrina tells us about her family and that damn ring I got a sinking feeling in my gut. When she said that her cousin was sold to an alpha and used that feeling grew worse. When she said that her cousin killed herself after being rescued and finding out she was pregnant I knew who she was talking about. Kodi broke down half way through Yesayrina’s explanation. She was violently sobbing into my chest. I couldn’t even be mad at Yesayrina since she had no idea that Kodi had happened upon her cousin that had went through all of that.

“Hey my little copper flame, are you okay?” I asked.

“No, I still can’t believe that the girl I had somewhat befriended had been my cousin, not to mention all the shit she had gone through.” She whispers.

“I know and I am sorry. If I could change what happened I would.” I told her.

“I know, but whats done is done. I still can’t believe that I have cousins.” She says.

She lays her head on my chest as I let my hand run up and down her back. She hasn’t wanted to be far from me since Yesayrina told us that. Not that I am complaining, but I know she needs the comfort and reassurance that everything will be fine. We lay there for while. I smile when I feel her relax and I know she has fallen asleep. She needs it after the day we had.

<I was hanging out with Fern and I mentioned Ellie’s first asshole of a mate. When I said his name Fern went stiff. I asked what was wrong and he told me that his cousin Dalya went to college with a guy named Eros. Dalya was a wolf/human hybrid. She told Fern and Eros’s dad was fae. Ino>

<Okay, did he say anything else? Me>

<No, but I did some digging of my own. I found this Eros guy and while it never did say who his parents are specifically he does resemble the twins. I send you a picture of him. It should be in your email. Ino>

I open my email without moving to much. I don’t want to wake up my little copper flame. I have to suppress a growl as I look at the picture. He does resemble the twins. I know in mu cut that his father has to Zenos.

<Don’t say anything to anyone until we can confirm this. We need to find someone who knows this guy that way we can get someone on his ass. Me>

<Okay, I will keep looking to see if I can confirm who his parents are. Ino>

I tell him okay and cut the link. There is something strangely familiar about the guy. I link Mauku and Kekipi telling them what Ino just told me. I tell them that I am emailing the picture but that we will discuss it tomorrow. Kodi doesn’t need anymore shit stressing her out right now. I want solid proof of Eros’s connection with Zenos before I bring this to anyone else's attention.
