The Missing Princess

I swear it is like no one here has seen a bat before. Okay, fine I get it. Most witches have cats or other cute and cuddly animals as their familiars. Well that is not me. I mean I like cats, dogs, and other animals like that, but for some reason I fell in love with the more less liked animals that most would be afraid of. Hence why my familiar is a native Hoary Bat. I guess I can see why everyone is slightly freaking out. Normally a native Hoary Bat is tiny growing no larger than three inches. Uahi is close to a foot tall with a wingspan close to three feet. I made him immortal like myself and I guess when one makes an animal immortal they get larger than they normally would.

“Yes, this is Uahi and he is my familiar.” I answered.

“That is a bat.” Kekipi states.

“Wow your knowledge of animals is outstanding.” I sneer rolling my eyes.

“Fuck you.” Kekipi hisses.

“Okay, before a fight, that Kekipi won’t win, breaks out lets discuss this.” Uncle Aaron sighs.

I glare at Kekipi as Uahi hangs upside down off my arm. I snap my finger which everyone thinks is weird that is until Kekipi falls face first on the ground. Fine I used my magic to cause his shoelaces to tie themselves together in a large knot. He was being an asshole and he deserved it. I am jolted forward when fucking Reign slaps my ass. Uahi is unbothered by all of this. Then again it is daytime and he is asleep.

“He won’t hurt any one right?” Ino asked.

“No, not unless they poke their finger at him or if he thinks he is in danger.” I replied.

“You said I could have my familiar here. If he isn’t welcome then neither am I.” I growl.

“Uahi is fine here. The others just need to get used to him. Since he will mainly be seen at night we should introduce him to everyone that is usually on patrol at night. We are used to seeing Hoary Bats, but not his size.” Reign points out.

“That is fair. We could do that tonight.” I comment.

“Okay, now where does he stay during the day?” Reign asked.

“He had a house that I built. It was kind of like a dog house in a tree, but since my building skill isn’t superb it looks like a pile of wood nailed together.” I admit.

“I think I can help with that. I build decorative bird houses and other types of houses that I sell. I owe you for sparing my spoiled daughters life. I will need a few measurements of Uahi.” Ranu states.

“Thank you. Uahi will be so happy.” I chirp.

“Of course, anything for our Luna.” Ranu added.

I leave the office and walk up to our room. For the time being I guess Uahi will have to live outside hanging from our balcony. I will need to make some make shift cover since he likes somewhere dark to sleep during the day. I let him hang off the shower curtain while I dig through shit in the closet.

“What exactly are you doing?” Reign asked.

“Asshole stop doing that. I am looking for something to make some sort of hide for Uahi to sleep in until Ranu finishes his new house. I figure it would be okay if he used the balcony until then, but I need to hang something to make it dark for him during the day.” I explained.

“You put him in the bathroom?” He asked.

“Yes, until I can get something rigged. It was the bathroom or our closet.” I told him.

I hear him let out a low growl as he walks out of our room. I didn’t mean to make him mad. He said it was fine to bring Uahi here, but maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. I peak in on Uahi who is dead asleep as I let out a sigh. I walk out onto the balcony jumping onto a thick branch of the closest tree. I need some nature time. I make my way through the trees until I come across a gorgeous waterfall that ends in a pond of warm clear water. I slip off my flip flops as I sat on a rock letting my feet dangle in the water. Maybe moving here wasn’t such a good idea. I huff out a breath as I stand up slipping back into my flip flops. I walk back to the pack house knowing that I need to shove all my shit back into my two bags and grab Uahi so we can go back home. As I climb the stairs I can hear banging. The banging becomes louder as I get closer to Reign’s room. As I open the door the banging reverberates through the entire room as does the growling and swearing.

“What is going on?” I asked.

“Alpha wanted me to build Uahi’s new residence here on your balcony, Luna.” Ranu explained.

“What did you think was going on and where did you disappear? No one could find you and Blade was about to force me to shift so we could search for you.” Reign asked.

“I needed some nature time and found a gorgeous waterfall with a pond. I was actually coming back to pack since I thought I made you mad earlier since you stomped out with a growl. I thought you were starting to regret having me move here.” I quietly say.

“Sorry about that. My little copper flame, I regret nothing. I want you here more than you can ever imagine. I knew you would want Uahi close and I thought the balcony would be the best and safest place. I sure as fuck don’t need to walk into the closet and come face to face with him when I am half a sleep.” Reign told me.

I jump into his arms as he laughs. He kisses my temple as I wrap my legs around his waist. Ranu is laughing at the two of us. I really didn’t want to move back, but I won’t put Uahi in danger. I guess we will see how everyone reacts to him tonight.

Xalamar

I had spoken with Tenay and she said that she would see what she could find out anything for me. We all knew the previous king and queen were hiding something, but I wasn’t sure about the twins. I wasn’t surprised when Rory and Vance announced they finally found their mate and soon to be queen. I was surprised when Tenay told me who it was. I wasn’t expecting it to be Alpha Reign’s sister Dani. She was one of the girls that those fucking idiots kidnapped. She was going to email me everything she was able to find out. That is what I was currently sifting through when Lamar walked into my room. Lamar is my cousin. His mother and my father are siblings. His mother came with us when we left the kingdom, while my father disowned me. He didn’t agree with what the three of us were doing. Unfortunately, my aunt died five years ago after contracting some weird sickness. We were never able to find out what it was.

“Well what did Tenay have to say?” Lamar asked.

“Nothing we didn’t already know. Seems like what ever was being hidden about the child was hidden well.” I told him.

“Weird. Someone beside the previous Alpha has to know something. I know there is no way that the previous King and Queen are going to say anything.” I pointed out.

Lamar nods as we leave my room. We are half way there when Lamar receives a call and from the expression on his face I can see that it was something that he wasn’t expecting to hear. I receive an email from Tenay at the same time and I damn near drop my phone as I read it. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am. We run the rest of the way to Zenos’s office to find him and Dobrita there. Thankfully they aren’t fucking. Yeah, we have walked in on that happening a few times.

“The two of you look like you saw a fucking ghost.” Zenos comments.

“I just got a call from Rhaldun.” Lamar states.

“And I just got an email from Tenay.” I added.

“Okay, and what did those two have to say?” He asked.

“We were right. Estella and Jasper didn’t have a son, they in fact did have a daughter. Dobrita was right when she guessed they placed a glamour on her at birth. Neither Tenay or Rhaldun can confirm that, but they highly suspect that is what happened. They believe the previous king and queen know, but since Estella and Jasper were the only two in the kingdom that knew what she looked like they couldn’t get a description of her.” I explained.

“Those bastards, I knew something was up. There were always rumours that many thought there was something off about the youngest prince.” Zenos roars.

“That must be why Jasper went to see Randy when Estella was pregnant.” I point out.

“That has to be where Jasper went after Estella died. He vanished for hours and came back alone. That is also when the child disappeared.” Dobrita added.

“Maybe that girl that we saw with Randy the night of the fire was the missing princess.” Lamar states.

It is possible, but no one in Zenos’s family has hair or eyes that colour. Lamar mentions this as well. Zenos says we need to dig into Jasper’s family some more. I mention digging into the dark fey side of his family and Zenos is for it, but that is going to be harder. If we are caught they will execute us on site and neither Lamar or I know anyone in that kingdom.

“Focus on Jasper’s family for now. If nothing of importance is found there then we can discuss how to gain information about the dark fey side of the family. There is something about her that doesn’t make sense. In that footage that we saw she was moving at a speed even too fast for any fey. Lets not forget about those deep slashes. Those were claw marks and neither the fey or any witch I know has claws.” Dobrita told us.

She has a point. There is something not right about the girl. I know for certain that Jasper was a full blood warlock. His family is a direct descendant of the goddess that granted them their magic abilities and she sure as fuck didn’t inherit that from the fey side. So that begs the question, where did she gain those abilities?

Fucking Jasper, leave it to him to pull shit like this. This wouldn’t have happened if Estella would have had that brat in the kingdom. No one knew they were going to visit that fucking Alpha, not to mention that Estella was still a month from giving birth. Well that is what they told everyone. I am more certain than ever that she was further along in her pregnancy that they let on.

“What are you thinking my little witch?” Zenos asked.

“I don’t know the current dark fey king, but the previous was once a friend of my mothers. I doubt he would talk to me since it was her that convinced his son that your grandmother was his mate. I don’t think she had any idea that he would become obsessed with her.” I replied.

“From what I found out, that bastard was injured a few years before he attacked my grandmother and received a rather grievous head injury. They weren’t sure he would survive. I believe that is why he became obsessed with her.” Zenos explained.

“I could try my contacts still in the kingdom, but they no longer live within the castle.” Zenos told me.

“No, we wait until Lamar or Xalamar find something out. I don’t expect them to find out much. I think this has something to do with the dark fey blood with your family.” I say.

“Probably, and we know, well I know, very little about that part of my family. I am not sure my mother knows that much about that side of the family.” He sighs.

“Don’t worry will figure this out. If that girl is the missing princess then sooner or later she will have to return to the kingdom. Your grandparents will want that and that will make her easier to kidnap.” I point out.

He looks at me and nods. I need to find out everything about this girl. If she is who we think she is then she is one, if not, the most powerful beings alive. She has the power of three different families coursing through her veins. I need to do a bit of research on their dark fae heritage. I also need to figure out where she acquired those extra abilities that are not from anyone else on either side of her family.
