The Minx

Chapter 6

Avery and I danced as we dressed and got ready. She left my hair in their natural waves and pinned my side bangs back in a waterfall braid. She did my makeup light with only wing-tipped eyeliner, mascara, and lip-gloss. My dress was a white one shoulder dress with silver lace. It fit me perfectly to my waist and flowed to the floor. It was high-low style with chiffon draping. It was topped off with silver heels.

For Avery, I straightened her hair, letting her bangs hang freely to her eyebrows, and did a smoky eye to match her black dress. I topped it off with nude lipstick. Her dress was black and strapless. It was more of a skater dress style. It flowed mid-thigh and was matched with a thick red belt. She wore red wedges with it. We were done a few hours later.

"Why does it take so much longer for girls to get ready?" I wondered out loud as Avery sprayed Victoria's Secret body spray. Avery only laughed as she sprayed herself and turned the music off.

"Because we look better," she joked. I rolled my eyes but found myself laughing along with her. Avery led me out to the back of the house. We walked towards a building bigger than the one we were in. That must have been the pack house. The closer we got, the more nervous I felt. Avery squeezed my hand in hers.

"You're going to be fine, calm down. Everyone will love you, and if they don't, Aspen will rip their head off," she joked, trying to make me feel better. I smiled nervously and shook my head at her antics. She led me inside the packed house and to the backyard. I looked at it shocked. There were so many people. I knew the Silver Bullet pack was big but goodness. Everyone was practically shoulder-to-shoulder. There were probably well over 500 people. I felt arms snake around my waist and instantly relaxed.

"Aspen, thank goddess," I breathed in relief. He chuckled and kissed my head.

"Relax, little one. You'll be fine," he assured me. I smiled lightly at him. Avery stood with her arms crossed and rolled her eyes.

"Sure, but when I say it, you don't believe me," she said before walking away. I laughed and turned to look at Aspen properly. He was in a pair of khakis and a white button up shirt. He looked really good. He held his hand out for mine.

"Come on," he said. I took his hand and he led me to a makeshift stage. "Hello everyone! Thank you for coming," he yelled over the crowd. They instantly quieted and watched us to see what would happen next. I felt my cheeks grow red.

Aspen, I don't think-

"I'd like to introduce you to your new Luna, and my mate... Camilla. Previously from the Blood Moon pack, you will treat her with respect and protect her from harm shall it come. Understood?" he said with authority. It was like a switch being turned on. He was stern and intimidating. It was a big difference from the Aspen I had been seeing.

After he was done talking, he turned to me and held his hand out for mine. I knew what was coming next. I winced when he cut my hand before cutting his own. We pressed our palms together until I felt my hand heal.

"Enjoy the party," he said to the pack before leading me off stage. He pulled me into him and inhaled deeply. For a moment, it sounded as if he were purring, or something close to it.

"You called for me, Alpha," a burly man said, standing in front of us. He looked to be older than Aspen by a good two decades. The scars on his arms and face told me he was a fighter. His muscles were huge and bulky. His buzz cut hair was dark and his eyes were black. He kind of scared me if I were being honest.

"Marco, this is Camilla. Camilla, this is my Beta, Marco," he introduced us. My eyebrows raised in surprise and fear. This was Aspen's Beta? I was going to be training with him. I looked at Aspen and he seemed to read my thoughts. He pulled me closer to him and kissed my head.

"You have nothing to fear, little one. He will train you properly. And if you go up against him, you can go up against anyone. He's one of the strongest in the pack," he assured me. "Plus, I'll be there when I can," he added. I swallowed roughly but nodded.

"O-Okay," I stuttered. Marco smirked at me before holding his hands behind his back.

"Are you just going to stand there like an idiot or go get ready for training?" he asked. Aspen growled lowly, making the smirk drop from Marco's face.

"You will still respect her as your Luna, Marco," Aspen warned Marco. Marco nodded in understanding before Aspen turned to me. "Go change into workout gear, little one. Avery's closet should fit you until we go shopping for you," he said. I nodded before I went inside and did as he asked. I had on a white tank top and crop leggings. I threw my hair up in a ponytail and went down to the gym where Aspen and Marco were waiting for me.
