The Magic Door

Chapter The Mountain of Dwarf Kingdom

When Peter and Raine made it to the mountains, the mountains were exquisite to look at. The snow was at the tips of the mountain and green sides with a castle that was tall and mighty. On the mountain shows a stairway up to the castle and on the way up are small tunnels and homes. Before you could go up the mountain, there was a little hut with a sleeping dwarf sitting on a chair that leans back. Peter looked at the sleepy dwarf as he was snoring loudly and had a bubble coming out of his nose. Raine giggled at the sight while the dwarf made an enormous snore before making a whistle sound. With a pop of the bubble the dwarf woke up with a grunt and looked around while sitting up. The dwarf then snuggled back in his chair but stopped once he saw Peter and Raine.

“Ah guests! Welcome, welcome!” The dwarf cried out with pleasant happiness while he opened his arms in a welcome manner. “Welcome to the Mountain of the kingdom of dwarves!”

“Thank you, kind dwarf.” Raine said as Peter just nodded while the dwarf looked at him in a funny way.

“Say! Are you a human?” Asked the dwarf while Peter looks at Raine as she smiles at the dwarf.

“Yes, he is, and I’m taking him to the queen.” Raine told the dwarf while the dwarf slowly nodded.

“Ah I see, I see we will welcome humans to the Mountain of the kingdom of dwarves!”

“Thank you, kind sir dwarf.” said Peter while he bowed his head to the dwarf in the act of respect.

“Why, bless my beard! I may not see a human, but you sure are a nice one!” said the dwarf with excitement in his voice.Peter smiles at the dwarf and with a nod Raine and Peter walk off up the mountain. On their way up, a lot of dwarves look at Peter with wide eyes or some just peered at Peter and go back to what they were doing. Peter felt a little unease till they ran into two dwarves that looked at Peter with wide eyes.

“Bless my beard! So there is no such thing as a hobbit! You are nothing but a human!”Cumba said while Torbo look at Peter up and down with one eye closed and the other one open with a nod.

“Mhm! That’s what I thought when we first met you, Peter.” Torbo said with a snark while Cumba rolled his eyes.

“Yes, yes, I know you told me when we were far away from them that day. But now that he is in his true self, we can finally see a real human.” Said Cumba with excitement in his voice.

“Well, sorry to interrupt, but Peter and I are heading to the queen and,” Torbo interrupt Raine with a meaner manner.

“And you! Raine, such a shame on you! You kept this from us and let him tell us a lie and…” he stopped once he realized Peter told them, so he turned his attention to Peter. “What is a hobbit?”

“Yeah! What is a hobbit?” Cumba asked as he wanted to know what a Hobbit was as well. Peter told them what a hobbit is and so forth. Also, he told them a bit more about hobbies and lifestyles. The story fascinated Cumba and Torbo and they ask the same thing that Raine asked if they could meet the storyteller but Peter told them he was gone a long time ago. They were a little sad by this, but soon their smiles grew on their faces. Raine told them they have to get going and they move to the side of Peter and Raine to pass by. Raine bowed her head to them and walked ahead while Peter smiled at them and bowed his head to them and they did the same, Peter followed Raine up the mountain. Once they made it to the castle, the doors were already open and a tall and skinny dwarf was standing in the doorway. He has long black hair with grays on the side, and deep bright blue eyes that shone power. He was wearing a robe that was a navy color with white fur around the edges on the robe, also he was wearing a plain brown shirt and blue pants and big boots. At first, Peter saw a scowl on his face, but soon he saw a welcoming smile.

“Raine, welcome to my kingdom!” The king dwarf said as his voice boomed with glee and deep.

“Thank you Filly, you always have the most beautiful home.” Raine told him as Filly chuckled with his shoulders moving up and down with his chuckle.

“Why thank you Raine. Now who is your friend?” Filly asked, while looking at Peter.

“My name is Peter, your majesty.” Peter said with a bow, and Filly laughed.

“Please, just call me Filly. Now what can I do for a fast flier fairy and a human?” Filly asked, while this shocked Peter at how he could tell he was a human.

“We are heading to the queen, we hope she will help Peter here. The king wants Peter and we don’t know why. But I think because of you know what.” Said Raine as Filly’s eyes widened and looked at Peter.

“I see, I see well welcome and please stay for the night! We are going to have a feast and I would love you, Raine and Peter, to stay!” Filly cried out with glee and Peter’s eyes sparkled as he wished to see the real feast from dwarves while Raine was iffy.

“Alright, we will stay for the night.” Raine said as Peter did a little happy dance in his head while he smiled widely.Filly was pleased to hear this as he pulled out a little horn and blew it as the sound sounded louder and deep while it echoed around the place. Soon, every dwarf came and stood in front of the castle, looking at their king. Filly put down the horn and step out, being in the middle of Raine and Peter with his hands out.

“My people of the kingdom mountain! Tonight we will have a feast for our new friend! Peter, uh, er…” Filly turns and looks up at Peter. “What is your last name, boy?” Peter replies to Filly in a whisper tone, “Williams.” Filly did a nod and turned back to his people. “Peter Williams! Now let’s have a party!”Everyone cheered with excitement and glee. Soon every dwarf got tables out and food even had pints out. Few of the dwarves pulled out instruments from their beards, one pulled out drums, other pulled out a flute and a clarinet. They played music while the dwarves were eating and dancing at the same time to the music. Some just stay seated and eat till their hearts consent. Cumba and Torbo sang some dwarves’ music while Peter and Raine were sitting down next to Filly, eating like there was no tomorrow. The food was so luscious and you can’t help but savor the flavor of the food like chicken, roast beef, corn, potatoes, ribs, green beans and, most of all, lizard meat. The party lasted all night and the dwarves are staying awake from drinking too much pints. One by one, the dwarves. One by one, head back home. Everything became quiet on the mountain. You can hear the crickets chirping in the air and it paints the sky in a deep dark blue color with diamonds shining in the sky. Peter, Raine, and Filly are still up including Cumba and Torbo while they are sitting in a circle.. Cumba and Torbo are having a drinking game to pass the time while Filly was talking to Raine and for Peter he was watching Cumba and Torbo doing their drinking game.

“So, do you think he is the one?” Filly asked Raine in a whisper voice while Raine looked over at Peter.

“I think so. I mean, the unicorn let him touch it. That’s what Peter told me.” Raine whispered back as this shocked Filly and Filly looked over at Peter.

“Bless my beard, maybe he is the one.” Filly said in a very low voice, only he can hear it. “Well, you two better get some rest. Tomorrow will be a long voyage for you two to get to the queen.”

“Yes, and thank you again for letting Peter and I stay for the night. Also, this was a lovely, nice party.” Raine told Filly while Filly smiles with glee.Raine got up and Peter noticed she was getting up so he got up as well. Raine heads off to a tent (that Filly orders to make two tents for Peter and Raine). Peter was about to head to his tent that was across from Raine but stopped and turned to look at the three dwarves. Filly noticed Peter stopped and looked at him and the two others looked at him as well. Peter turned fully around and walked back over and sat back down on his chair.

“Something bothering you, Peter?” Filly asked while Peter shook his head no.

“No, it’s just… the queen. I know I could ask Raine about it, but I would like to hear it from a king. What is she like?” Peter asked while Filly just smiled at him.

“She is kind, powerful, wise and most of all exquisite woman elf that my eyes have ever landed on.” Filly told Peter. “Also, she can tell if you are telling the truth or not. Plus, I think she will help you more than judging you right away because of some few things that are legends.”

“Legend? What legend?” Peter asked, while Filly chuckled and shook his head.

“That you must find out on your own. Now get to bed, tomorrow will be a long voyage for the both of you, including for Raine. She is sacrificing her flight just to walk with you.” Filly told Peter, while Peter looked worried and guilty, and Filly saw this. “Don’t worry about it. She will be fine. She just used to fly around instead of walking around, but hey this will be a good thing for her.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Ah, nothing. Just forget what I said. Now get to bed!” Filly told Peter as Peter got up and headed off to his tent.Once he got in his tent, he lay down on the most comfy cushions he had ever laid on. With a yawn, he slowly closed his eyes and started dreaming about his parents and siblings as he misses them, but he also dreams of Zarlakarla.
