The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 47

Felicity

POV.

I gently placed my sleeping baby on a stopover in the shape of a cemented circle dressed with a loincloth, and turned around only to see Ava standing at the entrance smiling at me.

"Don't you still remember me?" she asked softly, and my heart sinked, guilt filling my chest. Of course, I didn't remember Ava. It's been so long, and my mind can't seem to connect the little girl from years ago to the grown woman in front of me. I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity when I looked at her. In fact, I had always had this feeling since I had met her. Her face, her smile, and the way she carried herself all seemed so familiar, but I couldn't quite place her.

I shook my head, still trying to put the pieces together. "I'm sorry," I murmured, dropping my arms to my sides. "I don't... it's been so long."

Her smile is sad, but she nods. "It's okay. I remember you. We used to play together all the time, remember?"

I rack my brain, searching for any fragment of memory that could tie me to Ava. "I... I think I do."

Ava chuckled, taking a step closer to me. "That's alright. I remember everything we did together as kids." She paused, her eyes lighting up as a memory popped into her mind. "Do you remember the time I came over to your house with my parents?" I shook my head, feeling a little embarrassed that I couldn't remember. "No, sorry. I was really young."

"We used to play in your backyard," she tells me, a hint of excitement in her voice. "And one day, my parents took me to your house. We played dress up, remember?"

As she spoke, a vague image of two little girls in princess dresses flashed through my mind. I'm not sure if it's a real memory or something my brain has conjured up, but I nod eagerly, hoping to ease some of Ava's disappointment. -Flashback-

"Come on, Feli! We have to hurry or we'll be late for the ball!" exclaimed the perky, blonde-haired girl in the pink gown.

"I know, I know!" replied the brunette girl, struggling to keep up with her friend's boundless energy. "But I can't find my glass slippers!"

"Just put on your red ones, silly. They look just as pretty," the blonde advised, already twirling around in excitement.

Suddenly, their mother's voice echoes through the hallways, calling out to them.

"Girls, it's time to start getting ready for bed. Say goodnight to your friend now."

The two girls hug each other tightly, not wanting their fun to end just yet.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Ava," Felicity whispered.

"Of course! We have to continue our adventure in the Enchanted Forest," Ava replied with a broad grin.

As they part ways, the girls eagerly look forward to their next playdate, where they can become princesses once again and explore their imaginations together.

- End -

"It's okay. We played together, and you ended up falling and hurting yourself. You ran and hid in your room, and I had to go in and comfort you. We even made up a secret handshake after that."

I furrowed my brow, trying to remember. "I don't remember the handshake, but I do remember getting hurt a lot when I was little."

Ava laughed. "Yeah, I think we all did. But we always ended up laughing and having fun anyway."

I smiled, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over me. "Those were good times, Ava."

She nodded, a small grin on her face. "They really were."

"Do you remember when we made sandcastles at home? ?" She asked melancholy.

"Yeah, I remember that," I said. "We had so much fun, didn't we?"

Ava nodded, looking relieved that I'd managed to remember something. "But then you fell and hurt yourself," she continued, and I felt a pang of sympathy for my younger self. "I remember you ran to your room, and we had to coax you out." she continued. I shook my head, trying to find some kind of connection to the memory. "I don't remember that at all."

"It's okay," she said, offering me a genuine smile. "It was a long time ago."

But for me, the feeling of shame and embarrassment doesn't fade. Here is my childhood friend, recounting memories that I have no recollection of. It's a stark reminder of how time can change everything, even the memories we hold so dear. We fell silent for a moment, lost in our own memories of childhood adventures. But then Ava looked at me, her expression serious.

"I will introduce you to all the members of the League Of Justice (LOJ). Tomorrow morning, very early morning, we will set off," she said.

As Ava mentioned introducing me to her LOJ friends, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement and anticipation. She had told me so much about this organization and the good work they did, and now I was actually going to meet its members. "Really? That would be amazing!" I exclaimed, unable to contain my enthusiasm. Ava smiled at my reaction and nodded.

"I knew you'd be interested. We have a big mission coming up, and we could use all the help we can get."

A mission? What kind of mission? I wanted to ask, but Ava seemed to sense my curiosity and continued, "We're rescuing a group of endangered animals from a dangerous poaching ring. It's going to be a tough one, but we're determined to save these innocent creatures. And also we must discover those who wish you harm and prevent them."

I couldn't believe it. This was the kind of work I had always dreamed of doing - helping those in need, fighting for a cause greater than myself. And now, I have the chance to be a part of it.

***

Late that night, I made my way to the cave room where I had dropped my baby off earlier. I missed him terribly, and all I wanted to do was to hold him in my arms again. When I finally saw him, he looked so peaceful, but as I picked him up, I noticed that he was extremely hot.

He was burning up with a fever and felt like a furnace in my arms.

My heart sank as I noticed he had a fever.

Tears streamed down my face as I rushed back to Ava, desperately seeking her help and guidance. She could see the panic in my eyes.

"What is it? You're white as a sheet, you look like you've seen a ghost." She asked, confused and scared.

"OMG, Ava! The baby has a fever! What do I do?" I panicked, tears streaming down my face.

Ava quickly came over, looking concerned. She quickly offered a solution, suggesting that we leave for headquarters early so that my little one could get the care he needed.

"Let's leave now. We'll take him to HQ, and they can treat him there."

Thankful for her offer, I quickly agreed, holding my baby close to me. We left the cave and started walking quickly through the forest. Every few seconds, I checked my baby's temperature, and it seemed to be getting worse and worse. He was becoming more and more restless, and I began to worry that something was seriously wrong.

As we continued our way towards the main base of operations for the League of Justice, I couldn't help but feel like my own personal world was crashing down on me. My baby was sick and I had no idea what was wrong, but I knew that Ava and the rest of the team would do everything they could to help us in our time of need.

However, nothing could truly alleviate the worry and fear that consumed me as each passing moment felt like an eternity. I couldn't focus on anything but my precious child, who seemed to be getting worse by the minute.

As we continued through the forest, I could feel myself getting more and more anxious. I wanted to get to HQ as quickly as possible, but every step felt like an eternity. The baby was getting worse, and I didn't know what to do.

My heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest.

Ava tried to calm me down, but I was beyond reason.

"Stop stressing, he'll be okay! Calm down okay?" She reassured me.

My little one was in danger, and I couldn't do anything about it.

"I can't! I can't!" I said desperately.

And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, suddenly, my baby's little body started shaking violently, and I panicked, he was convulsing. I didn't know what to do, and tears of fear rolled down my cheeks.

I screamed out in terror, not knowing what was happening. All I knew was that I needed to get him to HQ right away.

I was holding my convulsing baby tightly, tears streaming down my face, and nothing but fear and uncertainty in my heart.
