Chapter 48
Felicity
POV.
Ava saw what was happening and fear seized her too. But she pulled herself together quickly so as not to panic me further.
Tears streamed down my face as I begged Ava to hurry.
"Please, we need to get there now! He's getting worse!" I cried.
Ava's expression was grim as she nodded and we accelerated our steps. It felt like we were flying so fast we were running. I bet both of us managed to beat Usain Bolt's record. We arrived in record time, but it felt like an eternity. We found several people outside.
When I thought it couldn't get any worse again, my baby stopped convulsing and did not move again.
I was petrified, screaming for help. These people rushed to our aid.
My heart was in my throat as I handed my baby over to them.
What was happening to my sweet little angel? Would he be okay? All I could do was cling to him and pray for a miracle.
I was ushered into the medical room, where the medical team were frantically working to save my baby's life.
As they worked to stabilize him. I felt like my world was falling apart like it was crashing down around me.
I watched them work, feeling helpless and scared.
What if something happens to my baby? What if we were too late?
I turned to Ava and panicked "Ava, what am I going to do? My little one is in danger and I'm helpless!" I exclaimed frantically.
"Calm down, take a deep breath. They will help him, they will save his life," Ava responded in a soothing tone.
"But how can you be so calm in a situation like this?" I asked, feeling my chest tighten with anxiety.
"Because panicking won't help anyone. We need to think logically and come up with a plan," Ava explained, trying to reason with me.
"But what if it's too late? What if they can't do anything to save my little one?" I asked, feeling tears brimming in my eyes.
"We won't know until we try. They will do everything in their power to keep your little one safe," Ava reassured me with a determined expression.
Her words gave me some hope and I felt my racing heart start to slow down. "Thank you, Ava. I really appreciate your support," I said with gratitude.
"We're in this together," Ava replied with a warm smile, and I knew we were going to do everything we could to protect my little one from harm.
But as I watched the team work again, I knew they were doing everything they could. And I realized how lucky I was to have Ava and the League of Justice on my side. With them by my side, I knew we could face anything that came our way. "Is he going to be okay?" I asked the guy who took care of him, desperately gripping onto his white coat.
"We're doing everything we can. It's touch and go, but we'll stabilize him," his voice was calm, but his eyes betrayed worry.
Hours passed by in a blur as we waited anxiously outside the room. Finally, a girl emerged, a slight smile on her face. "He's stable now."
I breathed a sigh of relief as tears streamed down my face. "Thank you so much! Can we see him now?"
"Not yet, but soon. We need to monitor him for a little while longer," the girl explained before hurrying back inside.
But the fear and anxiety were still there, gnawing at the back of my mind.
Ava placed a comforting arm around me. "It'll be okay. Your baby is a fighter. He'll get through this."
But I couldn't stop the fear from consuming me. "What if something happens to him again? I can't lose him, not now."
"You won't. We'll do everything in our power to protect him," Ava promised.
As the night wore on, we both sat silently, lost in our thoughts and prayers.
I whispered silent prayers of thanks for his recovery, hoping that the worst was behind us.
Finally, the girl allowed us to see my baby.
The sight of him surrounded by machines and tubes made my heart ache, but seeing him alive filled me with gratitude.
But the nagging feeling that our mission was still ahead of us remained, and I couldn't shake it off. "We have to keep him safe," I whispered to Ava. "We will. We'll protect him with our lives," she responded firmly.
And with that promise, we prepared ourselves for the mission ahead, knowing that danger lurked around every corner.

The next morning, I woke up feeling exhausted and drained. The stress from the previous day had taken a toll on me, and I felt like I had run a marathon.
But I knew I couldn't afford to rest just yet. I had to keep my little one safe from harm, and that meant joining forces with the League of Justice.
Ava had promised to introduce me to the organization's members, and I was both curious and nervous. What kind of people were they? Would they judge me for needing their help?
As I got dressed with the clothes given by A A, I felt a knot forming in my stomach. I didn't know what to expect, and that made me anxious.
Ava noticed my unease and gave me a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Felicity. They're good people. They just want to help."
I nodded hesitantly and followed Ava out of the door, my heart pounding in my chest.
When we arrived at the League of Justice headquarters, I was struck by how high-tech and impressive it was. It looked like something out of a sci-fi movie.
As we entered, we were greeted by a group of people, all dressed in sleek black suits. They looked like secret agents from a spy movie.
Ava introduced me to the group, naming each member and their role. They all smiled warmly and welcomed me to the organization.
"Hey! This is Felicity. She's the one I told you guys about," Ava said, gesturing towards me.
"Ah, yes, the new recruit," replied a man with a stern expression. "I'm Agent Smith, the security director of this facility."
"I'm Agent Jones, the head of research and development," said a woman with short blonde hair.
"And I'm Agent Brown, the head of operations," said a man with a shaved head.
I awkwardly waved at them, not sure what to say. I felt like I was in the presence of superheroes.
"Welcome to the League of Justice, Felicity," Agent Jones said with a smile. "We've heard a lot about you and your skills."
I blushed at the praise. "Thank you. I'm here to help in any way I can."
"Great. Let's give you a tour and introduce you to everyone," said Ava, leading the way.
As we walked, I couldn't help but notice the state-of-the-art equipment and impressive technology. "This is amazing," I said in awe.
"We spare no expense when it comes to saving lives," Agent Brown said with a smirk.
We met several other members, each with their own unique skill set and charm. They all seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me and making me feel welcome.
"You'll be working closely with us, Felicity, so feel free to ask us anything," Agent Smith said with a reassuring smile.
I nodded, feeling more at ease. "Thanks, I really appreciate it."
I was surprised by how friendly they were. I had half-expected them to be cold and distant, but they were anything but.
One of the members, a woman with short brown hair, stepped forward and took my hand. "I've heard a lot about you, Felicity. It's a pleasure to finally meet you," she said with a smile. I felt myself relaxing a bit, reassured by her warmth and kindness.
Over the next few hours, the League of Justice members showed me around their headquarters, giving me a tour of their impressive facilities and training areas.
They even showed me some of their gadgets and weapons, which were unlike anything I had ever seen before.
I was starting to feel like I was a part of something special, something bigger than myself.
But then, just when I was starting to feel comfortable, something unexpected happened.
As we were walking through the training area, one of the members suddenly lunged at me with a knife. I barely had time to react before he was on me, his blade flashing in the light.
I felt my heart racing as I dodged his attacks, trying to keep myself from getting hurt. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to get away from him.
It wasn't until Ava stepped in, knocking the man off of me with a fierce punch, that I was able to breathe again.
"What the hell was that?" I gasped, staring at the man in shock.
"That was a simulation," the woman with the short brown hair explained. "We use these exercises to train our members in combat scenarios."
I felt a mix of relief and fear wash over me. If that was just a simulation, what kind of dangers was my little one facing in the real world?
As we continued our tour, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. The League of Justice seemed like a great organization, but there was an undercurrent of tension and secrecy that made me uneasy.
As we wrapped up the tour and headed back to Ava's office, I realized that my nervousness had turned into excitement. These people were here to help, and they were some of the best in the field.
I couldn't wait to start working with them and using my skills to make a difference. The League of Justice was exactly where I was meant to be. Like my parents.
