The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 40
(Blake Three hours earlier)
“Hang him up.” Tristan ordered the two guards holding the self-proclaimed rogue king.
Tristan began rolling his white-sleeved shirt up, his deep red hair freshly showered and tied back. I couldn’t deny..he looked pretty badass. And why he chose to wear white beats me…
The rogue was still unconscious, thanks to a sedative the good doctor gave us. He was a huge guy too, at least 6’3 and pretty muscular. The guards lifted him swiftly and hung him from his bound hands to a hook that was connected to the ceiling.
Imagining Mil beating this a*****e up and actually getting the upper hand made me swell with pride knowing he couldn’t take our Mil down that night he attacked her. She was so tiny too, I guess her dad trained her well enough, even if he had a shit way of doing it.
I glanced over at my brother, his silver hair slicked back and his own sleeves rolled up. Should I be rolling mine up too.. Was that the cool thing to do?
‘You’re such a prick.’
My wolf Eris laughed as he paced around in my mind.
‘Well if you think it’s lame Eris then it must be the cool thing to do.’
I quipped back and instantly decided to roll mine up as well, apparently, we were going to be diving into some nasty shit.
“Let’s wake him up.” Tristan spoke with an icy tone..damn he was so f*****g cool..I wouldn’t let him know that though.
Tristan Banks has been my best friend since we were kids, his dad Glenn was my dad’s Beta and bestfriend. They actually still resided here in another part of the house but currently they are visiting Tristan’s sister right now. His little sister Lottie had been away in London at university. She hasn’t been back to Black Stone for almost three years now. She was always like a little sister to me and Rowan, I knew without a doubt she would love Mila just like the rest of us. Lottie was the polar opposite of Mila though, loud-mouthed and opinionated. I would get the random text from her now and then but I was excited to see the kid next weekend at mom’s luncheon. Well, she is turning twenty this year but she still seems like a kid to me. I don’t know why the hell she popped into my mind, especially at a time like this.
At least it was a welcome distraction from Jessica’s persistent pestering. She was not handling the breakup well. I’m glad I did it now before I met my mate, I feel like she would have really flipped then. The worst so far was when I found her waiting for me naked in my office..had to change the locks after that one. I don’t want to say she is stalking me..but she is definitely stalking me..
Suddenly Ian one of our warriors walked in carrying a bucket full of ice water and placed it down beside Tristan. We had an audience today..mostly the warriors that went with us to find Mila’s dad. They heard what this jackass Rouge said and how he talked about our Luna. People wanted b***d, but none more than my brother. Glancing over at him he had the coldest stare I had ever seen. I knew for a fact that this would be the last day this rogue would ever live to see.
Tristan reached down, grabbing the bucket of ice, and quickly lifted it. He looked towards Rowan waiting for the command as the air became thick with tension. Who knows what this a*****e would say..he seemed to think of himself as some type of god.
‘Let’s rip this bastard apart for disrespecting our Luna.’
Eris growled and I couldn’t agree more. He had taken to Mila just as much as I had. She was our sister now, our precious Luna, and the most important thing to my brother. Is it bad that I think I might even like her more than my own brother already? Let’s hope he never finds that out.
Rowan nodded his head, stepping closer as he clenched his jaw. He was more than ready to see what this d**k had to say.
Just then Tristan dumped the water on the rogue’s head causing a sharp exhale to leave him. It was soon followed by a loud shuddering g***n. His wild eyes snapped open, his naked body tensing as he dangled above the ground, his toes barely touching the slick tile beneath him.
He quickly jerked his head around, his movements erratic and unpredictable.
“Glad of you to join us.” Tristan said, dropping the bucket loudly as the noise echoed through the cell.
“Where the f**k am I.” The rogue said harshly, a tone of authority seeping from his nasty-smelling mouth.
Rowan stepped forward, his eyes burning while he looked at the rogue. A wicked smirk pulled at his lips as I swear a chill ran through every one of us in the room.
“You’re in hell.” He said darkly. His eyes flashed black and blue steadily as if Bain were trying to fight his way out.
The rogue began to twist and turn, seeing Rowan’s gaze making him obviously question his life choices.
“F**k you! You have no idea what you have done. Taking the rogue king..you must have a death wish.” He spat at Rowan, a nasty look in his eyes as he smiled maniacally.
Rowan didn’t even hesitate, his hand reaching up as he gripped the man’s throat, squeezing tightly.
“I’m tired of this rogue king bullshit, you are nothing. Your title, your existence, your life..it all means nothing. You think people give a shit about you?” Rowan laughed viciously, his grip tightening as the man began to wriggle beneath him.
I glanced at Tristan, seeing his own smirk now appearing on his face.
‘Tristan, he’s going to kill him before we can even get him to talk.’
I linked quickly, seeing the rogue’s airway close as he began kicking his feet.
‘Shit..you’re right.’
Tristan responded, obviously enjoying this too much.
He walked forward, placing his hand on Rowan’s shoulder. His eyes clouded over as if he were speaking to him.
Rowan let go, letting the Rogue gasp for air as he coughed violently.
“F**k you!” He gasped, spitting at Rowan.
Rowan stopped, his hands clenching into fists as he turned back towards the man. His Alpha presence was almost too much to bare as his strength seeped out of him. The room became so thick with his aura. The Rogue winced, the power filling all of his senses as he turned his head away, fear filling his eyes. I couldn’t help but turn my head as well..my brother was something else.
“What the f**k do you want from me?! Is this about the old man?” He practically begged, the realization of how deep in shit he was finally settling in.
Tristan walked forward now, a switchblade in his hand as he began playing with it leisurely.
“Oh, are you going to talk that easily? I thought it would take some convincing.” He almost looked disappointed.
“I have no loyalties to that man. I just wanted my little wolf, that was the only reason I even dealt with him.” He sputtered with wide eyes.
Rowan charged forward once more, punching the man in the face as he seethed.
“She is not yours..she will never be yours.” He growled between hit after hit. Tristan flipped the knife away and stepped back, glancing at me.
‘I think this will be over before it even started.’
Rowan continued to hit him, b***d splattering across the room and landing all around us.
“You think you could have her..she belongs to no one but me.” He said through clenched teeth, hitting the rogue one last time. I swear I saw one of his teeth fly out, which honestly almost made me gag.
Rowan was breathing heavily, looking at the bloody mess before him as Ian ran up and handed him a towel to wipe his hands. All of us watched in silence as the Alpha showed what would happen if anyone ever got between him and his Luna.
To my f*****g surprise the rogue was still alive and he actually started laughing. It was the creepiest shit I had ever seen.
“You think she is yours? That little wolf is more special than any of us realize..that is why the moon goddess wanted me to have her.” He said, spitting on the ground as b***d pooled out of his mouth.
“Even the old man knew that..that was why he took her.” He began laughing again, his words confusing us all.
“What do you mean took her?” I asked, stepping around a splatter of b***d as I walked closer to him.
“He didn’t know I knew..oh that old man, he was so clever hiding my little wolf.” He began swaying side to side as b***d dripped down his beard.
“What did you know?” Tristan asked now. I glanced towards Rowan, seeing that anger rise even more as the Rogue continued to speak.
“Why should I tell you? Unless..you would like to trade?” He smiled widely, his eyes wild.
‘Seriously? He is trying to bargain with us?’
I mind linked to Tristan and I couldn’t help but clench my fists.
‘We will just go with it, he will be dead soon anyways.’
He smirked and stepped forward once more.
“Okay, rogue king..what is it you want?” Tristan asked curiously.
“You know what I want..” he looked towards Rowan, his eyes sparkling.
“I suggest you not say what I think you are going to..unless you want to die immediately,” I said with a chuckle.
“That is all I want..she is all I want.” He growled, his anger now showing as he spat on the floor once more.
“We have other ways of getting what we want then.” Tristan quickly spoke up, sensing Rowan was ready to end this right now. But we couldn’t..we needed to learn more.
Suddenly, John, one of the guards came in carrying a black box with a handle.
The rogue king looked at it, his eyes growing wide as he cursed under his breath.
“Fine..if you promise to let me go then I will tell you everything I know.” He sputtered out.
Tristan didn’t give a shit, he opened the box, pulling out a sharp knife. He stared at it, his eyes gleaming as he spoke.
“Do you know what the worst form of torture is? I believe you threatened our Luna with it earlier.” He turned, holding up the sharp blade as the rogues’ eyes widened.
“Considering your not in wolf form, it won’t be a pelt..but it will still have the same effect.” He took a step closer and I couldn’t deny it. Tristan scared the hell out of me. Seeing his eyes sparkle, I prayed to the goddess that this man would talk..just so I wouldn’t have to witness someone being skinned alive.
“Okay okay!!” He yelled, his feet kicking out as panic filled his wide eyes.
“The old man..he saw a dark witch. She was cousins to the witch I use. Basically, it was shared with me that he used her the day he got the little wolf. Taking her and hiding her away.” He said quickly, his gaze not leaving Tristan’s blade once.
“We know that much..the dad fled with his daughter to escape.” I said scoffing, feeling like this man was just trying to bide his time.
“Dad..that man is not her dad.” He said with a laugh.
Rowan stepped forward now, gripping the man’s neck.
“What do you mean?” He said between clenched teeth.
“You know exactly what I mean. No father would look at their daughter that way..the way you and I look at her.” He croaked out, disgust filled Rowan’s face as he squeezed tighter.
“That’s why I said little wolf was taken..not just from me but from whoever she belonged to before.” His voice barely a whisper.
“Then who did she belong to before?” Rowan said between clenched teeth, his anger seeping out.
“I..don’t..know.” The rogue choked out.
“Then you are no use to me.” Rowan said in the most chilling voice i had ever heard and without warning he jerked his hand, breaking the Rogues neck and killing him instantly.
We all stood there, watching the rogue’s lifeless body swaying as the room filled with thick silence.
F**k..that was insane. I looked at my brother as he nodded to the warriors.
“I want him burned along with that f*****g cabin.” He said without hesitation.
I walked up, placing my hand on his shoulder as I spoke through the link.
‘You okay?’
I know it had to be done..but this kind of shit sticks with a person.
Rowan just nodded, his eyes a clear blue and his shoulders relaxing.
‘He will never hurt my Mila again.’
He said into the link roughly, and I couldn’t help but feel relieved too.
“Do you think he was telling the truth?” I asked out loud, glancing toward Tristan as he put away his scary knife.
“It would make sense with the shrine and why he hid her away.” He glanced at Rowan, pure respect and admiration showing in his gaze.
“There is one way to find out. I’m sure there is some DNA of his in that cabin somewhere.” He said with a smirk and Rowan nodded.
“Tell the warriors to bring back a sample and we will take it to the hospital,” Rowan commanded before walking towards the exit.
“Oh and Tristan…I want his body dragged behind them. That will send those rogues a message.” With that, he left the cell.
I glanced at Tristan and frowned, looking at the bloody mess on the floor.
“Why do I get the feeling you will sleep better tonight than you have in months.” I said looking at his happy appearance. He just smiled widely, causing a chill to run through me.
“Creepy mother fucker..” i mumbled and walked out of the cell, hearing Tristan laugh one of his rare booming laughs as I left. Let’s just say I slept with one eye open that night..
