The Luna's Hidden Destiny

The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 39

(Rowan)

I looked down at my sleeping mate as I crawled into bed with her. I don’t know how much more of this I can take…I feel like she hasn’t had a normal day since the moment she got here.

‘How is she holding up son?’

My dad linked in, they were beyond worried after Blake relayed everything to them. My mom even sobbed hysterically at Mila’s bedside..my dad had to drag her out because she was being so dramatic.

Mila had slept through the night and most of the day with Doctor Lewis coming back to check in on her a few times.

My mom stayed with her for a few hours while we talked to that f*****g rogue..we discovered some very interesting details.

‘The doctor said she is still doing okay, she just needs a lot of sleep.’

I linked back, holding my Mila close to my chest as she snuggled into me.

‘What a relief, everyone is worried sick. Poor girl and everything she has been through.’

When my dad actually heard about what happened he was furious. I hadn’t seen him that mad in years. Seeing my mom so distraught about it didn’t help his anger either. He demanded our warriors begin extra patrols every day to look for anything suspicious and even had Ian standing guard at our door now. I just let him take on the Alpha role for the time being…I know it will be a good distraction for him.

‘I will have Greta send up some food for you son, you need to eat.’

My dad linked, a command more than a suggestion and I closed the link. I refused to get up from this bed, not until Mila is awake. Luckily I can check my emails and stuff from here.

Suddenly my phone began to vibrate and I checked the screen.

…Finn…

This was his third time calling, I guess I should explain how it went. I sent him a text but it must not have satisfied him enough. I answered it quickly, turning away from Mila as I spoke.

“Yeah? What is it?”

I whispered.

“What is it? Are you f*****g kidding me? I am on my way to Black Stone now.”

He barked into the phone, his tone surprising me.

“Why the f**k are you doing that?”

I hissed, making sure I wasn’t being too loud as I glanced over at Mila still sleeping.

“Because my best friend’s mate was practically killed by her own father, who might now not even be her real father. That’s pretty monumental don’t you think?”

Had he always been this dramatic? I had a feeling he had been talking to my mom.

“We don’t know anything yet, they will do the DNA test soon. So no reason to freak out now.”

Why was I the one calming people down? I guess because I hoped to the goddess that this man really wasn’t her father. It would make a lot more sense. I made sure not to speak too loud, not wanting to upset Mila just in case if she overheard..but after what that rogue told us, we needed to know.
