The Luna's Hidden Destiny

The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 13

(Mila)

“Sorry, my manners must have left me considering I have been running around Black Stone trying to find what you requested all evening.” Blake added while narrowing his eyes at my mate.

Suddenly his gaze turned to me, and a bright smile filled him.

“You look good Mil, getting a bit of color back in those cheeks.” He said with a grin.

Him calling me Mil made my heart clench, reminding me of my father’s nickname he used for me. All of a sudden he stopped walking and began sniffing the air. Wait, he couldn’t smell me like Rowan said he could, could he? My heart began to pound until Rowan grabbed my hand, holding it tenderly as Blake spoke.

“Oh, is that spaghetti? My favorite!” He exclaimed, continuing to walk over. I let out a sigh of relief and Rowan leaned into me.

“If you want me to kick him out I will.” He grumbled, his eyes gleaming as if he was hoping for me to say yes and kick him out.

“It’s okay, I don’t mind.” I smiled softly as Rowan leaned forward, kissing my head gently.

Blake grabbed a chair and slid it over to the bed, placing the box on the table in front of me. I studied him quickly and I realized he and Rowan only slightly resembled each other. Only Blake’s hair was black, and his skin a shade tanner. His eyes though, they were blue just like my mates. But Blake’s jaw was square and his nose straight. He was definitely handsome too, just not as handsome as my Rowan. He had a broader body though, Rowan was huge, don’t get me wrong, but Blake was bulkier. Still tall but his muscles are bigger. Rowan was tall and lean, his muscles seeming to be cut from stone. Let’s just say he was the most gorgeous man I had ever seen.

“So Mil, how ya feeling?” Blake asked happily, Rowan seeming to hate that he kept calling me that as he glared at Blake fiercely.

“I feel a lot better, my shoulder seems to be healing more every day. I think my wolf has more energy now since I ate.” I explained while looking at Blake when I suddenly noticed him eyeing the food.

“Why don’t you have some, there is more than enough.” I offered, already feeling stuffed.

“No, he can get his own food, you need to eat more.” Rowan spoke with annoyance towards his brother.

Blake pouted, looking at me and Rowan, I nodded my head encouragingly as he smiled broadly.

“Sorry bro, gotta listen to my Luna, she knows what’s best.” He said as he grabbed the spaghetti and began to chow down.

How he called me his Luna made me feel a little weird, how was that possible..to become someone that would be Luna that easily. I almost felt like this was all some misunderstanding or mistake. I noticed Rowan studying me, maybe making sure I wasn’t freaking out again. I looked at him and smiled, bringing his hand up to my lips as I kissed it gently. Apparently, that did something to him. His eyes widened as his cheeks turned red for some reason. I looked at him curiously and he opened his mouth to speak.

“Is it okay if I leave you with Blake for a second? I just have to call my dad and check in.” He said quickly and nodded my head.

Feeling his hand leave mine, I suddenly felt uneasy. It was like I didn’t want to be away from him for more than a minute. He leaned over me, kissing the top of my head as he walked out, it looked as if he said something to Blake but I didn’t hear them talk. I wondered if they were linking.

Once Rowan left the room, without even looking back I felt weird, did something change? It was like the air shifted.

“Is everything okay with him?” I asked nervously, unsure if I should even be asking at all. Blake glanced behind him, making sure Rowan was gone.

“I think he might be freaking out a little, to be honest.” He said with a half smile.

“About me?” I asked, and my heart dropped. Maybe he was having second thoughts. I suddenly felt very nervous..

‘Relax darling, we can’t start spiraling now. Let’s find out more first.’

Calypso was right, there was no use in freaking out.

“Yeah, you know he has never really had feelings for a woman before, never been in love. All that cold-hearted Alpha shit..” Blake said, sitting back in his chair and taking another bite of spaghetti.

“He hasn’t?” I asked surprised, he seemed so kind and open to me.

“Nope, he was always a one-night stand kind of guy.” He said, finishing his plate and setting it on the tray.

“One night stand? What is that?” I asked confused, what could that even mean?

Blake looked at me, forgetting I obviously didn’t know much about the outside world. He cleared his throat looking back towards the door to make sure Rowan wasn’t coming.

“Well..it means, you know..when you sleep with someone and then don’t see them again. Like it was a one-night thing and then it’s done.” He said looking at me awkwardly.

“I see..so he would just do that? Be with a woman and leave?” I didn’t like the sound of this..especially after he might have thought I rejected him. Was he leaving now? Would he not come back?

“Yeah, most times, Chloe was the only thing close to a relationship, they slept together for about a year or something. Not exclusively though.” He said nonchalantly. Jealousy began to rise up inside of me..who was this Chloe. Suddenly a low growl left me and I quickly covered my mouth, embarrassment filling me.

“Sorry.” I said shocked at myself.

“Well, that was adorable.” Blake said looking at me as he laughed.

“Don’t worry, it was nothing serious between them, with any of them.” He said trying to put me at ease. I just nodded my head, feeling deflated.

Suddenly the door opened slowly and my heart began to race. Maybe he was just making a quick call, I really was worrying over nothing. Instead of Rowan though, a man with shoulder-length deep red hair appeared at the door. His skin was fair and his features elegant. He looked well put together and seemed well polished. He wore a dark green button-up shirt that was tucked into black pants. His light green eyes met mine instantly. Something about him made me smile, like a warmth I felt from him. He couldn’t help the small smile that touched his lips too.

“Ah gamma, you made it. We were just sharing all of Rowan’s deep dark secrets. She hasn’t ran yet.” Blake said playfully. So this was the gamma. Suddenly he bowed deeply, surprising not only me but Blake as well.

“Please forgive me my Luna, it was me who had you locked in the interrogation room. If you cannot find it in your heart to move on, I please request that you cast judgment how you deem fit.” The gamma said, looking down. I looked at Blake in confusion and soon realized he was just as confused as me.

“It’s..it’s okay, I don’t blame you. You were just trying to protect your pack. That’s what a good gamma would do right?” I spoke kindly, not even realizing I had been in an interrogation room to begin with.

“Dude, Tristan, you’re killing the mood..just come sit down.” Blake said shooting a look over his shoulder.

Tristan stood straight, looking at me once more as I smiled, causing him to smile softly.

“Thank you, Luna.” He said, throwing me off guard again.

“Please, you can call me Mila..if you like.” My voice was gentle as he walked over to us. He nodded his head, examining the room as he got closer.

“You are Blake’s best friend correct?” I asked softly, remembering what Rowan said.

“You have to stop telling people that, you’re giving me a bad reputation.” He said glaring at Blake as I couldn’t hold in my laugh.

“Hey, if anything I’m actually helping you. Being associated with me is a good thing.” Blake beamed.

“Yeah, keep telling yourself that.” Tristan mumbled under his breath.

“How are you feeling?” He asked, turning to me with worry filling his face.

“Better, hopefully I can get out of here soon. I don’t know how long it has even been..” I admitted, the realization slamming into me.

“You have been here for four days, you slept in the cell for a day..” Tristan said looking away guiltily.

“Well I am grateful..” I started, seeing surprise fill his face.

“If your men hadn’t found me, I probably wouldn’t have survived at all. So thank you..I would like to thank the warriors personally too once I get the chance, if that’s okay.” I spoke softly, glancing up at the gamma.

“Of course Luna..Mila.” he said with a smile.

“Oh..so you are nice to her..” Blake muttered under his breath while crossing his arms.

“Oh Mil, I forgot, Rowan asked me to get this for you.” He said, reaching for the white box as he opened it for me.

“For me?” I said with surprise. What could it be?

Suddenly the smell of chocolate filled the air and my eyes began to sparkle.

“I don’t know why it was so damn hard to find chocolate cake in this place..like harder than it should have been..seriously.” He said while taking the piece of cake out and placing it in front of me. Tristan quickly grabbed a fork, handing it to me. His eagerness surprising Blake and made him smirk.

“Thank you, it looks amazing.” I gazed down at the layered chocolate cake and took a piece with my fork.

Bringing it to my mouth, I took a slow bite. As soon as the cake entered my mouth, my taste buds exploded with pure bliss. This was amazing..it took everything in me not to m**n out after each bite. Blake and Tristan watched me intently.

“Would you like some?” I asked, my mouth full.

Blake nodded his head but Tristan said no and instantly elbowed Blake in the ribs, causing him to flinch.

“It’s all for you.” Tristan declared, like he had brought me the cake himself. Blake glared at him, crossing his arms as he leaned back.

“So Mil, what’s the story? How did you end up by the river anyways?” He asked me curiously and Tristan shot him a look.

“She doesn’t have to tell us that right now.” He said, chastising Blake.

I reached for my water, and before I could even grab it, Tristan got it for me, placing it in my hand.

“Thank you.” I said softly.

“You’re like a f*****g mother hen.” Blake scoffed, earning a glare from Tristan.

“I don’t mind telling you, maybe it will help find my dad sooner.” I added before clearing my throat.

Both Blake and Tristan settled into their seats and I told them the whole story. How I felt like I was being watched, how I had just gotten my wolf. When the man appeared in my room and how my dad fought them off. I swear I heard Tristan growl when I told him about the man tackling me. I tried to leave out the part where the rogue wanted to make me his mate and the touchy stuff, that wasn’t necessary to bring up. When I got to the jumping in the river part, Blake said it was “badass.” Which I learned was a good thing. After telling the story I took another sip of water, looking at them while trying to read their expressions.

“Well, considering you might have been in the river current for twenty minutes or more, we will have to broaden our search.” Tristan said contemplating it all.

I nodded my head, wondering where my dad could be. I hoped he went back home and wasn’t still out there searching. Since it had been four days. I bit my l*p nervously, concern filling me.

“Hey, it’s okay Mil, we will find him.” Blake smiled softly, squeezing my hand.

“I just hope he didn’t run into that man, something about him..it just felt off.” I admitted as a shiver ran through me.

Tristan must’ve noticed because he swiftly pulled the blankets up higher for me. Suddenly he looked at Blake as if he were talking to him about something. They were clearly having a conversation as I sat in the room in silence as they looked across at one another.

“It could be the same.” Blake said out loud, startling me. I looked at him curiously.

“There has been word of a rogue who calls himself their king. Did this man have any distinct features or markings?” Tristan asked curiously.

I thought about it for a second, going back through my mind and wondering what was different about him..the scar..it ran from his brow to his neck.

“He had a scar on his face, right here.” I said motioning where it was on my face.

They both looked at each other, their expression serious as Blake nodded to Tristan lightly.

Suddenly Blake reached his hand forward, taking mine in his.

“You are safe here Mila, you won’t ever see that man again, I promise you.” His expression seemed to be angry, and protective.

‘I knew something was off about him, something evil.’

Calypso said in the back of my mind.

I suddenly realized Rowan had been gone for at least an hour now. My stomach ached from the realization..was he having second thoughts about me? I tried to push it aside as Blake decided to turn the TV on and show me what cartoons were. Blake and Tristan stayed with me until I eventually fell back asleep, feeling emptier by the minute as my mate still hadn’t returned.
