The Luna's Hidden Destiny

The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 70

(Mila)

I could sense him as soon as he entered the room. I tried not to stare, feeling that pull that I soon realized I never felt with William..who I guess is really named Marcus. This was different, this was like he had a piece of me, a warm comfort that radiated off of him with his apple and cinnamon scent. Our eyes locked onto one another as I gripped Rowan’s hand. I needed him here for this..he was my anchor, the one thing that grounded me and made me feel protected.

“Alpha Rowan, Beta Blake. I was wondering if it was possible to have a word with Luna Mila.” He spoke softly, his words cautious and slow. Maybe trying not to scare me off.

Blake looked at me with concern and I smiled assuredly. I loved how protective he felt for me too. He really has become a real brother to me. I couldn’t wait to catch up more on the Lottie stuff later. I was so happy for him. He deserved this more than anyone.

“Come on angel, let’s go make out in the supply closet again.” Blake said with a wink, causing Lottie to gasp as she slapped his chest.

“We did not do that.” She ensured us all..but from the way her cheeks burned, I wasn’t so sure she was telling the truth.

I saw her nudging him in the side as they looked at each other and laughed. I couldn’t help the huge smile on my face as I watched them walk away.

“Well, those two seem like a pretty good match.” Alpha Nathan said, smiling as well as he glanced over at me.

“Yeah, they both know how to cause trouble that’s for sure.” Rowan mumbled, causing us all to chuckle.

Suddenly Alpha Nathan shuffled on his feet slightly, his eyes meeting mine as he stared at me intently.

“I just have to say..you look so much like your mother.” He whispered, a pang of hurt reaching his eyes as I smiled softly.

“I wanted to ask..there was something that Will…Marcus gave me that I cherished, he said it was my mother’s. It was the only thing I was given by her. Well..that’s what he said.” I added, feeling Rowan’s hand trace small circles on my h*p, calming me.

Alpha Nathan looked at me curiously, watching as I reached into my small handbag and pulled out the gold necklace that I was told belonged to my mother.

As soon as I pulled it out, Alpha Nathan gasped, his eyes growing misty as he looked at the gold flower dangling on the chain.

“That..that was Natalia’s she bought it for you before you were born.” He whispered,.reaching for the necklace as he glanced at me for permission to hold it. I nodded my head, handing it to him as he gently placed it in his palm. Tears began forming in his eyes as they locked onto the shimmering gold pendant.

“Perhaps we should take this to the study, so you two can talk more privately.” Rowan said firmly, his voice clipped and filled with annoyance as I glanced up and saw Harry staring at us intently. I nodded my head, letting Rowan lead me out of the room as people socialized around us.

We got into the study and Rowan walked to the bar.

“I will fix you a drink Alpha Nathan.” He said, seeing how vulnerable and emotional he was.

Alpha Nathan looked at the necklace once more and glanced up at me.

“May I?” He asked, offering to put the necklace on me as I nodded my head. He stepped behind me, looping the necklace around my neck as he clasped it gently.

Soft sobs suddenly left him, his hands going up to his face as my own chest began to ache. Seeing how much hurt this man has gone through, how much pain and suffering he had to endure. I stepped forward, my own tears beginning to fall as I wrapped my arms around him. His arms instantly encircled me, my head buried in his broad chest as he held me tightly.

“I can’t believe it is you..my pretty little flower.” He whispered, causing me to blink as I remembered Marcus telling me that was what my mother called me.

“I’m so sorry..” I cried, feeling overwhelmed and guilty for some reason..knowing he had to suffer all of this time.

“He didn’t..he didn’t hurt you did he?” Alpha Nathan whispered, fear in his voice as I shook my head.

“No…He just pretended to be my dad. He was overprotective and controlling but other than that I never questioned anything because I thought we were in danger.” I said, not wanting to tell him about the few instances I did get hit or the training. It wasn’t worth mentioning because I honestly didn’t want to spend another minute thinking about it.

He let out a sigh of relief, his hands gripping me even tighter as he stroked my back gently.

“It’s okay, we are together now..it’s all okay.” He breathed into my hair. I nodded my head, looking up at him as I smiled. His hand reached for my face, cupping my cheek as he looked into my eyes. His masculine strong features were so handsome as I studied the lines of his face. This was my dad..it really was.

“You are just as beautiful as your mother.” He whispered, caressing my cheek lovingly as I sniffled.

“What was she like?” I asked, pulling back slightly as my dad..yes..my dad looked down at me smiling sadly.

“She was such a strong woman..not to mention hard-headed.” He laughed, making me smile as I pictured this mystery woman.

“She was kind and brave, she was a natural leader and was loved by so many..you were too.” He said brushing a loose curl from my face.

“Maybe..if it’s okay with Alpha Rowan..you two could come to Crescent Moon soon. To see the pack and I can show you some of your mother’s things. Some pictures if you like.” He offered, glancing between me and Rowan. I looked over at him and he smiled softly, nodding his head as he watched me lovingly.

“I would love that.” I said happily, causing my dad to sigh with relief.

“So..I have a brother huh?” I said, making him smile even wider as he nodded his head.

“Yes, Gabe. He is actually trying to link me now. You try to talk to the kid before and he would give one-word answers..now he won’t shut up.” He laughed causing me to laugh with him.

“He can come in if you like…I guess considering this is all out in the open now.” I said, glancing at Rowan again as he walked over towards me. His hands wrapped around my waist as he kissed the side of my head.

‘I love you, baby..so much.’

He whispered into our link, making me turn and k**s him on the lips.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and my dad went to answer it.

Gabe stood in the doorway, meeting my gaze as I smiled at him.

“Well, I guess it’s pretty much official..at least until the DNA test confirms it.” I said glancing at Gabe as he nodded his head.

“When will those results be back?” He asked, glancing between Rowan and our dad. Wow..that’s so weird to say…he was our dad…

“Before you leave on Sunday hopefully.” Rowan answered, handing my dad a glass with ice and amber-colored liquid.

Gabe nodded, looking between us awkwardly as the room became quiet.

“Did you still want to see the gaming room tonight after dinner?” I asked, making his eyes sparkle as I felt Rowan stiffen beside me. I knew this would be hard for him. He doesn’t exactly like to share.

“We can take you after dinner. Right baby?” I asked Rowan, letting him know he was invited too.

He nodded, relaxing his shoulders slightly as I pulled away for a moment and walked over toward Gabe.

He looked at me with surprise as I pulled him into a hug, not even saying a word, just hugging him as his own arms wrapped around me. Soon he was holding me tight, inhaling my scent as he let out a shuddering breath.

“My wolf knew who you were the moment we saw you..she felt our connection.” I whispered, looking up at him as he nodded his head.

“I felt it too.” He said, smiling softly as our dad came over, joining the hug now.

He held us both tighly, as we all basked in each other’s new found warmth. I looked back, seeing Rowan standing by me awkwardly, and swiftly pulled him in. Probably making him feel even more awkward but this is what I needed. I needed my family and he was the biggest part of it. He made all of this possible..he saved me and I would spend the rest of my life showing just how grateful I was for that.
