The Last Royal Luna

(Book 3) – Chapter 49

“That is the last bag of weapons so now all we have to do is wait for the rest of the warriors to load up.” Asher told me as I sat on the pack house stairs watching everyone pack up the vehicles.

“Right on time.” I said smiling at him. “The scouts should be getting close to the location where they were told to leave their vehicles. So we need to be open to links from them.”

“Wait, aren’t they too far?” Andrew asked sitting down beside me and handing off a snack.

“Nope, I realized something yesterday when I was thinking about Samuel and if they made it back safe with the injured.” I smiled at them. “I opened a link to him. It freaked us both out but now we know that since we have became the leaders, we have all the werewolves to listen for and that means farther reach.”

“Holy crap that is awesome.” Asher said before trying to link himself. “Sandra says we are idiots and to hurry the hell up.”

We all laughed at that. It was good she loved us or she might have hurt our feelings. I had heard the things she has said to the people who doesn’t have a connection to and it was horrible.

“Hey, Ryder.” Mel walked up to us with a small smile. “You ready? I have everything in order for the spell and I even managed to find willing b***d source for it so no dead animals. Yeah.”

I laughed and nodded. Andrew and Asher just stared at me. I shrugged and tried to walk off with Mel but they stopped me.

“No so quick, baby.” Asher’s eyebrows rose and he perched his lips. “Where do you think you are going?”

“And what do you think you are doing with a spell and b***d?” Andrew added on.

I rolled my eyes at them. “It is just a spell to suppress my heat for a few months so we can get this taken care of before we turn on s*x crazy.”

“It works, I promise.” Mel sad as she stepped beside me. “Only a few complications but I have two other witches with me to help if needed.”

“Complications?” Andrew said. He looked a little bit pissed off. “How about you tell us the complications and we can all make a decision together?”

I shook my head no. “I would much rather do that with all of you but we are too close to the end. I know my body and I know that my heat is coming within two weeks. We just can’t take that chance. None of us can be distracted when it comes to finishing this war so we are all safe. None of the complications are death or make it so I die slowly or something. I am getting it done.”

“The worst that can happen is when she does go in heat she will be miserable for longer and more of a wild animal with her actions.” Mel confessed. “The only thing you will need to focus on is pleasing her and keeping her in human form. I don’t think you all could handle Blue without someone getting seriously hurt.”

Asher and Andrew just nodded and walked back over to the line of cars. It hurt a tiny bit but I understood both sides of this. I just couldn’t chance it. I would never chance something like this with something so small as my heat.

Mel and I met the other two witches in the woods behind the pack house. The spell didn’t take long but it did hurt like a b***h. My whole body felt like it was on fire and the cramps were the worst I had ever experienced. If I didn’t get to kill the witch b***h queen Mel was going to use this spell over and over until she caved.

Mel helped me limp back to the cars where everyone was ready to go. It seems Asher and Andrew had explained everything to my other mates and none of them were too happy with me. They all decided to ride together with no room left for me. I understood with everything we had dealt with concerning spells, my heats, and everything. I just needed to focus on what was in front of me.

I chose to ride with Alistair, Mel, and two warriors from Rogers pack. Mel gave me a look of pity but I just shook my head at her. I did this so I had to deal with the falling out. We would talk about it after this was all done or whenever they were ready. Which ever came first.

‘Ryder, I love you.’ Koda linked sadly as all the cars took off down the long driveway. ‘I know you did it for a reason but it hurts we didn’t talk about it.’

‘I get it. There was no time to have a long conversation over something that had to happen regardless. I love you and them. One day I hope you will forgive me.’ I replied before closing my eyes. That spell wore me the hell out. I send some love to each of them before passing out.

I didn’t get to sleep long before I started getting links in from the scouts. They had found location and it was bigger than we had thought. There was several buildings within the hidden away spot we had figured was their hide out. The biggest building had to be where the King and Queen were hiding since it was surrounded by their warriors around the bottom and top floors. A few of the scouts had fought a few of theirs that had been hiding in the trees and caves.

They didn’t think they got off a link but we had no idea on that. I made sure to let everyone know so that we could speed up. We were only two hours out but it only took a minute for things to change so I sent half the scouts back to the outer range while only keep a few that close. We didn’t need our scouts being spotted and taken out when we still had a ways to go.

‘Did you guys get any links?’ I asked my mates via mind link.

All I got back was a few yups and yeas. Edgar and Koda didn’t reply. They probably were trying to stay out of the way and not pick sides. I was so done with this.

‘K, glad we can share information and act like adults. Ill make sure to let any victims or family of the victims know I didn’t have all the information because my mates were immature asshats who apparently want to be mateless. s**t, maybe ill die today and you all can find another.’ I cut the link and angry cried.

“Ryder, I am kicking their asses when this is done.” Alistair stated as calmly as if we were discussing the weather. “I am so over it. Until they become men, I am treating them like children. Just f*****g wait.”

Mel and I just laughed. We already know one on one Alistair had won fighting them just as much as they had. He was a strong beta but I knew as soon as this was over he was going to be a great Alpha to a pack I was going to put together. He just didn’t know it yet.

“Ok but for now it is time to focus. Please link as many others as you can to be loaded down with weapons ready to jump out at any time.” I told Alistair and the warriors that were with us.

I

linked a few of the other cars to let them know what was going on and that we may have to shift earlier than expected. I would let them know. I had Alistair link the guys since I still had them blocked. He laughed a few times at their replies that included apologies and how their feelings were just as important. I couldn’t focus on drama right now. I had to focus on killing. Blue was ready and willing, but it was hard for me to take a life even if they deserved it.

‘I got a glimpse inside and it seems there are even more people inside…but…’ One of the scouts linked me. ‘The rest of my group mentioned that the ones inside looked scared and in horrible shape. Could they be the slaves that were mentioned?’

‘Yes, if you see again get a count.’ I replied with a sick feeling in my gut. ‘How many warriors did you all count around the building and in the woods?’

‘We linked the number to Andrew earlier but I believe it was 50 in the woods minus the ones we already took out. The ones surrounding the building is clsoe to 200.’

Andrew’s a*s was grass when we were done. He might need a new house or s**t they all might. I haven’t decided just yet.

‘Ok, from now on just link me. The guys are busy with other things right now.’ I replied and made sure to send the same link to the rest of the groups.

“Alistair, I may need more help from you than anticipated.” I sniffled a bit before explaining myself. “It seems at least one of my mates doesn’t realize we are in a life or death situation and you can’t use anything personal against anyone. That being said I will be getting all the updates from the scouts now so you and Mel will have to help guide everyone and when we get there help get everyone in their groups with the right equipment”

They both agreed after rolling their eyes and making promises of getting them back. I told them I would be joining them and I knew Parker was going to have a fieldday with it all. I was ready to end this. Blue was feeling b***d thirsty.

‘Remember everyone dies unless they do end up being slaves like Brody mentioned.’ I linked all the wolves including my mates. I could feel their fear from the pissed off tone I was using in my links and the growl Blue sent out to everyone. ‘This ends tonight. Either I stay Queen or they kill us winning and damning the rest of us. Let’s hope for the first outcome.’

‘Goddess please protect my babies, Mel’s baby, and Jared. Please give us the strength to win this fight and this war. Please bless us with your love and light to stand up against this evil and come out the other end as the winners. Please help us keep our death toll low. We all matter to someone and they all matter to me.’ Blue and I prayed as we waited for the drive to end and more information that would help us.
