The Last Royal Luna

(Book 3) – Chapter 50

‘Everyone in place?’ I linked as I arm crawled up to the edge of the mountain to look down on the enemy’s camp aka their hiding spot.

‘Ready.’ Was a reply I got from everyone except the warriors that had been in the last car. I believe Roger’s Gamma, Gregory, was driving it.

“Gregory?’ I linked him with Alistair staring at me confused. I was with him, Mel, and very quiet Koda and Edgar.

‘I am so sorry my Queen.’ He replied hesitantly. ‘We had a stow away and she refuses to take our vehicle back home.’

‘Stow away? Are we pirates on a ship?’ I really didn’t need an answer to that or the question I was about to ask. ‘Is this still way about 5’6 with an attitude and a bit of a potty mouth?’

‘Yep it’s your mom all right. I tried to convince her that she should go home or go back to her husband so that she can help protect them and him but she refuses. She said that she has some witch a*s to kick.’ He linked back laughing.

‘Tell her to head my way but she better know right now that the queen is mine.’ I linked my order before smiling. She can pick any other witch but this Queens b***d is what I’ll be covered in.

He just left and replied that she was on her way. I let everyone with me know what was going on and that my mother was strong but I wanted everybody to have an eye on her. I knew that even if Koda and Edgar were mad at me they would be doing their best to have my back but I needed to do what I needed to do two in this as quick as possible. We may have the numbers, but they use black magic which makes their members stronger even if it is for a smaller amount of time. And with all the death is going to happen they were going to have plenty of sacrifices to use and their spells.

‘Did we get all the scouts?’ I asked via mind link to the first groups I sent out.

‘All but a few. The witches are using their magic so they have control over their replies so we still have the element of surprise.’ One of the she-wolves replied.

‘Oh, nice thinking.’ I replied to them before adding everyone in the chat. ‘Go slow, take out the ones closest to us, and don’t get caught yet. I want enough time for us to get equal distance down and around before they sound an alarm.’

We pushed forward with the guys keeping mom, Mel and I in the middle like they always do. It made mom give a giggle before getting serious. Her and Mel started chanting a concealment spell as we went forward. Edgar was using his speed to run out and quietly drag a scout back before taking him out. Koda looked sad but he knew we couldn’t let them live or they would try to start another rebellion costing everyone more lives.

‘We have made it down the cliff.’ One of the groups linked. We were still only half way down.

‘Just wait until a few more group there.’ I linked back before reaching out. We were all almost down there.

“Mom,” I whispered. “Is there a spell for confusion or have us look like their allies?”

“We have both but the confusion spell would be easier on us power wise. We don’t want to use all our strength this early on.” She replied before going back into the chanting with Mel. The concealment spell was on going so I am guessing the confusion spell wouldn’t be, but I doubt it lasted very long.

‘OK, guys, have your witches get ready to do a confusion spell on the warriors they can see. It will be a great diversion and will help delay a message of us being here getting back to the leaders. When the spell hits run forward and take out everyone in your path.’

Everyone understood and waited for my signal. Mom and Mel were staring at me knowing what I was going to do but wouldn’t get in my way. It was going to be Edgar and Koda I had to worry about. My other mates were mixed in among the groups, but I just couldn’t focus on seeking them out. They would have to cover their own asses in there. I just had to hope the goddess was going to help keep us safe.

‘GO!’ I shouted in the link before running forward.

Koda and Edgar stayed on my tail as Mom went with Mel and Alistair. They knew I was headed for the Queen and wanted to help clear the fighters beside the ones I was fighting. I ran up to the first warrior and it was a vampire who was confused as heck on what was going on. He kept asking if we were here to help defend the castle since a lot of the members had abandoned ship a few days ago. I didn’t answer since I didn’t want to lie. I broke his neck and dropped him. Earth latched onto him and drug him below the dirt. The Earth didn’t want the dark witches to have any extra power with all the death so it was going to help take out the bodies.

A fireball came at me from the side, so I dropped and rolled forward knocking into a few wolves fighting in wolf form. I almost got bit but avoided it by barely an inch. I jumped up knocking down another vampire straight onto of two witches fighting. I kept pushing forward. Alistair had shifted and took out a wolf running at me as Mel threw a spell at another vampire as it was in mid-leap toward Koda.

“Damn, these guys are everywhere.” I muttered, killing the next few in front of me by burning them alive. The guys next to them hesitated a second after seeing that.

‘Where are you?’ Asher linked. ‘I need to know you are safe and sound. Make a run for it if you think it would be the safest.’

‘Never.’ I replied and left it at that.

I saw an opening between the fighting, so I ran forward continuing to dodge and duck. I saw my allies fighting with everything they have. A few of ours were dead and Blue howled in pain for their suffering. The only thing that helped the pain was that there were more of the enemy dead then our own. We were pushing them back at a decent rate which helped relieve the worry of us losing our edge.

“You won’t get near my queen!” Was shouted before two shifted wolves leapt onto me knocking me on the ground.

“Son of a…” I grumbled, throwing one wolf off me before grabbing onto the other’s neck before he bit me.

He growled and snapped at my face but couldn’t with my arms wrapped around this throat. I rolled over top of him and held him down. I shift my hands into claws and tore out his stomach. I twisted, catching the other wolf charging back at me by his neck and breaking it.

‘Blue, you good?’ I asked her jumping up and taking off running again.

‘We are good. No need to shift yet.’ She replied, pushing a bit of power into me. That spell I did with Mel had sucked all my energy out and I was still recovering a bit.

Mom ran up behind me pushing me to the side and taking the hit of a blue ball of power. I didn’t even see it coming.

“Mom!” I yelled running to her. “Mom!”

She was on the ground unmoving. I covered her body and checked her pulse. I could feel her heartbeat but it was faint.

“Somebodies mommy die like a the dirty b***h she is?” The same witch cackled. “Now it is time for your mangy butt to die but don’t worry I will put your soul to good use on powering up the Queen.”

Blue shifted us into our wolf form with no warning. She twisted around and roared at the witch sending a pulse of power that blew the witch backward into the castle. Blue’s howl pitch went higher turning the witch to something like lumpy gravy.

‘Holy…’ I linked her.

‘Yea, I figured it was time to check out my powers. That was fantastic.’ She giggled and pushed us back to mom.

‘Koda take my mom out of here. Don’t trust her with anyone else please. I can’t lose her.’ I linked him. I saw him running toward us and knew he would keep her safe.

‘I need to stay…’ He linked back as he finally made it to us.

“No! Take her and keep her safe. One less of my mates on this bloody ground will also help me concentrate.” I ordered him and ran off without looking back.
