The Last Royal Luna

(Book 3) – Chapter 48

Brody told them everything they wanted to know and more. His father instantly went out to find someone loyal to the witch queen and vamp king to pledge his allegiance when we were able to make it out of his pack alive. He wanted revenge on us since he couldn’t get it on Oliver, and he wanted to be on the winning side. His dad even thought the king would be so excited to have him he would easily move up in the ranks. He was wrong which gave me a small giggle.

The Queen couldn’t have children of her own, so she stole her sister’s children years ago before killing her. They are unable to have children either, so that is what she was my mates for. She also wants my son when he turns eighteen, to take as her sidepiece, thinking it will get her knocked up. At this point, I clenched my fists so hard I drew b***d. Edgar noticed, took my hands in his, and took the brunt of my anger.

“So she is an ugly a*s cougar who will mate off her daughters to anyone with power either by force or blackmail?” Mel asked sarcastically. “Just tell me her address and ill take care of this. I don’t even think I can handle hearing what she has planned for my daughter.”

“Whatever it is, it won’t happen.” Alistair stated, putting his arms around Melissa. “They are all going to die before any of their crazy a*s plans will work out.”

“Agreed.” I said, nodding at the pair. “Now tell us what else those traitors had to say.”

“Brody and the rest didn’t know the exact location, but from what he described it seems to be a hidden town in the mountains not far from here.” Andrew stated helping Koda pull out a map. “He saw some pictures and heard the stories from some of the other warriors he was teamed up with. We think it is in this area.”

He pointed to a wooded area on the map and it really wasn’t that far from here. Maybe a ten-to-twelve-hour drive before we would have to find it on foot. How did they even find a place like that? I bet the defenses are kick a*s which sucks for us.

“If it is hidden in the mountains, then they probably have some sort of walls or extra defense we need to prepare against.” I stated looking around us. “We need to send in some smaller stealth groups to check it out. Did they give us a number of how many warriors they have there?”

“I was just thinking about that.” Blake agreed. “I think it should be a mixed group so we cover all our bases but we should be trailing up behind them so we can assist if needed or attack if they seem distracted. We don’t want to waste an opportunity.”

“Brody believed there to be a few hundred warriors along with some slaves they have.” Asher answered me. “There is about forty of them if we are to believe Brody. He did mention that the Queen would sacrifice them in a heartbeat to protect herself and that I do believe.”

“Slave?” I heard my voice take on a higher note in my rage. “They have slaves? For what? Are they completely useless or are they draining them for their magic and b***d? They will not die for those pieces of shit.”

“We will save them.” Edgar whispered into my ear as the guys started working on who should be in what groups. “Let’s focus on getting ready to finish this. Do you want to train after we say bye to Julian and Roger?”

I said yes and watched the meeting finish up. We decided on about 12 different groups spread out on where they will head up the mountain. Each group consisted of a witch, a vampire, and a wolf. It was a mix between the most powerful to medium power so if they were captured, we weren’t up a creek without a paddle.

I followed Blake and Edgar to the front of the packhouse where Roger was speaking to his Gamma. Probably giving him instructions on how to behave while he was in charge here. I had heard from a few people that Roger was feeling nervous about leaving his new gamma here and in charge of over a hundred wolves from their pack. Asher made sure to tell him he would help so that helped with the fight he was putting up for me making him leave.

Julian was sitting in a wheelchair talking with a few of our pack members. He didn’t look too serious so I doubted it was anything bad so I walked up to him first. Id let Roger get his instructions out before even trying to face him. I knew I wasn’t the bad guy in all this but I sure as hell wasn’t going to willingly put myself in front of that fire.

“Julian, I am going to miss your face!” I said, giving him a big hug. “Please be safe getting back and make sure my sisters are ok. I know Parker has it under control, but I know how sneaky they are.”

He did a belly laugh at that. “They learned from you.” He jokingly accused me. “Listen everything will be fine at the pack and at the royal pack lands. We have that part under control. You focus on ending all of this.”

I agreed and gave one last hug. I left Blake, Asher, and Andrew to talk to him. Julian has been like a second dad to Asher and Andrew their whole lives and seeing him injured like this was hard on all three of them. He would be fine.

Now on to Roger. His gamma had left and he is standing by himself. I headed toward him with Edgar and Koda in tow. I could feel how protective they were currently, so I gave a small prayer to the goddess Roger wouldn’t be mean. Hopefully I got this small favor from her.

“Hey, how are you holding up?” I asked him as I sat down on the bench beside him.

“Pissed.” Roger grunted, keeping his gaze away from me.

“I know you blame me and that is fine.” I admitted to him even though it hurt coming from a friend. “I can’t see you get killed just because you wanted to be there. You are still recovering, and your family needs you. You have a child now that needs a father figure in her life. Be mad at me. Hate me for the rest of our lives, but know that it is worth it knowing that little girl will have you.”

He looked down at me and studied me. Koda rubbed my back from his position of kneeling beside me. I was doing my best to hold back tears because I was sick as s**t of crying and acting weak.

I stood up and smiled at him. “Get home safe, Roger. Thank you for everything. We will do our best to make sure all of your pack gets home safely.”

I left after. I didn’t wait for a reply, not that I thought I would get one. He was upset. He wanted more revenge, and I was the one in the way of that. It was my burden to bear as the Queen and his friend.

“Lets figure out who wants to go within our allies and see if that is enough for us or if we need to keep adding more.” I told Edgar. “I want a small party tonight for everyone to celebrate and let lose. Tomorrow, we train for a few days and then we leave. I am not waiting any longer than that to spill some evil witch b***h b***d.”

Koda smiled and started to link everyone different jobs. It was time for a bonfire and some dancing. He called the first dance with me and Edgar did the next. Within our group link, the others grumbled but made sure to jump in line. It sounded like I’d never be sitting down. I am gonna be wore out but at least my mind wouldn’t be running circles around different plans. That would be for tomorrow.

‘One day ill get over it but it won’t be any day soon.’ Roger linked right before closing off any way to link him back.

That sucked that I couldn’t reply but it was his problem now. I had my own to handle and my own mates to keep an eye on. I needed them safe and to retrieve my kids, Mel’s kid, and Jared all while taking out the trash. I have no plan for that.
