The Last Royal Luna

“Ok, so his left punch is weaker than his right. He never sees a low to the ground attack, and make sure to keep your hands in front of your face. He likes to bloody his opponents when he is playing with them.” Andrew instructed me as we headed toward the fighting circle. “The sun has a few hours before it goes down, so make sure you keep it at your back to lower your blind spots.”

I just kept nodding trying to keep all the information he was giving me in my brain as my anxiety and worries over this were rising up. I barely slept last night between checking on Kailey at the hospital and stressing over this. I am just glad my parents, Blakes’ parents, and Kodas’ parents are staying at the house with the twins. I couldn’t stop thinking about this being another trap for the

enemy to hurt my family or take my kids from me. Everyone agreed.

“Edgar and the twins are headed to get Richard. Is there anything you want to figure out about loopholes?” Jared asked suggestively. I laughed and shook my head. “Come on Ryder. There has to be something. I think we should look again or even take a pack vote before Richard comes about cheating. They would all say yes.”

Before I could respond, I could hear my name being called and see Heath running to me like a man on a mission. “Ryder, I have something important to tell you!”

I slowed down for him to catch up. I didn’t want to stop and be the second fighter on the field. I needed to get there and get in the right frame of mind to kick some booty before seeing the face of the enemy. It was hard to hold in so much anger and trauma where he was concerned which meant my powers wanted sweet, sweet revenge.

“What’s up, Buttercup?” I teased as he finally caught up with us.

“Ugh, my dad told you about my mom’s nickname for me?” He g*****d in response.

“Maybe…Now what did you need to tell me?”

“I talked to a guard this morning while I was trying to see Richard.”

“SEE RICHARD!” Koda interrupted Heath. “Why?” His voice sounded a bit accusatory and if he felt that way, I knew the others were feeling it too.

“Relax, old man. I wanted to get some info if I could to help the take him out.” Heath was getting sassy and I was here for it. I gave him a high five and the guys guy’s glares moved to me.

“OK, hit me with the good stuff.” I shoved Koda back out of the way to focus more on Heath.

“OK, so the guard mentioned that the vein that was cut open took forever to heal. It took so much of his wolf magic he was sweating bullets and couldn’t stand for a few hours. I think the dark magic he has running through him is a strain on his wolf so wearing him out would be one way to get him weak enough.”

Huh, that was something I didn’t even think about. My magic wears me out but not as much. It doesn’t have any negative effects on Blue but that must be because is my magic I was born with.

“That helps out so much. Thank you, Heath.” I gave him a quick k**s on the cheek and finished pushing my way into the circle.

‘You ready for this Blue?’ I felt like I was going to puke from the stress and what ifs running through my head. ‘Do you have some sort of game plan or are we winging this?’

‘Umm I plan to make him bleed and I plan to kill him with a smile on my face.’ She purred. Oh, Goddess. Here we go.

‘We are almost there. We love you and know you can do this.’ Edgar linked.

‘I love you all too. I got this.’

Richard walked up with his face blank and his shoulders back, but I knew he was hiding his true feelings. As soon as the cuffs were off and he was standing in front of me on the other side of the circle his smile broke out and he laughed.

“I still can’t believe you forgave those losers so easily. They hated you just like I did and now I can show them how weak you truly are. They will be thanking me by the end of this fight.” He winked at Blake and Andrew who stood on the outside of the circle with matching scowls on their faces.

“Do you ever shut up? Geeez. Sandra, let’s do this thing. I have things to do tonight.”

Sandra stood up and leaned over on Samuel who was holding their new baby girl. “You both know the rules so lets do this fight right. BEGIN!”

Richard had changed his tactics since the last fight and ran at me but I ducked his fist and twisted to stand behind him. I kicked him in the a*s sending him forward and ran back a few steps to avoid his swinging arms.

He turned and growled. “I can’t wait to take over caring for you twins and fulfill this prophecy I have been hearing in whispers amongst other followers of the TRUE King and Queen.”

I saw red but Blue held me back. ‘Think with your head and not your heart. He wants you to charge him and be reckless so he can get a few good hits. That is the only way he will win this. Breathe.’

“Nice try but no one talks about my kids.” I rushed at him, watching his feet with the corner of my eye to see what direction he would sidestep and when he went left I followed, catching him with my shoulder to his stomach, tossing him backwards.

I could see some black b***d bleeding through his shirt so I knew I was on the right track. I just needed him to bleed more before I pushed him to shift. I could take his wolf down faster with Blue taking some of the guys’ powers to give us more strength. That wasn’t against the rules or at least it wasn’t in any of the rules.

“You’re a b***h! I can’t wait to have your b***d running down my throat.” He ripped his shirt off and I felt like his muscles got bigger.

He stalked toward me and when I didn’t move he threw his hand out toward my throat but I blocked it and punched his stomach making him gasp. He head butted me making me see stars in all the pain. When it made me step back and see black for a minute, he used it to his advantage. He grabbed my throat by squeezing and lifting me off the ground.

“I want to watch you take your last breath and see the live drain from your eyes. You die now and soon Sandra along with her mate die right after.”

‘I think not. Do what you can to get his hand to loosen and I will shift forward to latch onto his arm to rip it off.’ Blue growled.

I looked for my opening while he looked around at the crowd gloating at their growls and whines. I latched both hands on his wrist before lifting them and slamming them down on his arm harder and harder each time before his fingers loosened enough for Blue to take over.

He had to let go once he felt my neck stretch out and start to shift. His look of shock was worth the pain I still felt on my throbbing neck. He stepped back and gave me enough time to complete my shift.

Taking a closer look at him from the passenger seat, I noticed he was worn out and looked like he was ready to be done. It wasn’t enough yet and Blue knew that. She jumped up, latched onto his shoulder, and ripped his arm off. Red and Black b***d began flowing and Richard howled, grabbing Blues’ fur and throwing us across the circle.

Our mouth was burning from the black magic and I could feel it crawling around my insides. This was not good and when this was over I would need my stomach pumped or a cleaning spell of some short. I whined a bit but tried my best to shove the pain to the back of my mind.

Blue yanked herself back up and ran at him latching onto his leg. He tried to shove us off but couldn’t. Blue made sure to nick an artery and b***d began to roll down his leg.

“You..Will….Not….Win…” He stuttered falling down on his a*s. He gave up on shoving us off and went back to pushing his magic into his shoulder.

‘This is it. Get ready.’

Blue let go slowly, watching him focus everything on healing and yanked our head sideways to latch onto this throat ripping it out. She hurriedly spit out and watched his body fall to the ground lifeless.

I didn’t even have time to enjoy winning before Blue shifted back and the guys surrounded me. They clothed me and tried to k**s all the boo boos. I shoved them back and walked out of their huddle to see Sandra smiling. Her eyes glazed over like she was getting a link and her smile dropped.

“Sandra?” I asked.

She glanced at me and gulped. “A messenger from the Fake King and Queen are at our gates with 5 representatives….”
