The Last Royal Luna

(Book 2) – Chapter 19

I ended up passing out shortly after my amazing snacks and a hour long hot bubble bath. I didn’t wake up until the next morning to someone knocking at my door. I was not ready to get up. I felt some of the pain from when I normally pass out after marking one of my mates so I assume my heat pushed it off from when I marked Edgar. I really didn’t want to have to deal with being passed out for that long so hopefully it would just either skip it, just have everything be painful for a little bit, or just be maybe pass out for a day. I was hoping for the skip-it part because it completely sucks but the power high afterwards is amazing.

“Who is it?” I yell when they knock again. I stand up and stretch before putting some clothes on to answer the door.

“It’s me Edgar. I wanted to come and check on you and to let you know that the members of my clan are almost here. When I talked to them earlier, they mentioned they also had a care package for you.” He sounded a happy but a little off center.

The part about a care package made me squeal in excitement because I know it was going to be from my family so hopefully there was something from all the girls and my parents. I’m really hoping for my mom’s peanut butter cookies that she makes because they are so freaking good or maybe some deer beef jerky that my dad made because it’s just the right amount of raw tasting meats spicy town.

I opened the door and let Edgar in. He seemed a bit nervous. “Edgar. Are you ok?”

“I am just nervous that you only marked me because of the heat.” He wouldn’t look me in the eye and that made this hurt even worse. I whimpered.

“Baby that is not the case and I am sorry you feel like that. I would never do hurt you on purpose and I know that my actions have hurt you. I just needed a break to not be focused on others and I needed to rest my body after a weeklong s*x vacation. I want all of you all of the time. You are my mate, and I will never let you go. Got it?” I winked at him and saw some pink on his cheeks like he was blushing. Did my vampire like to be told what to do?

Edgar pulled me toward him and wrapped his arms around me. “ I know you didn’t mean anything by it. I never believed I would have a mate and believed that my wolf had died so all of this is scary and fantastic at the same time. You are amazing. I love you.” He kissed my forehead.

“Well good. How about we head down for breakfast so we can handle business on a full stomach? I don’t want to have to hurt someone if they smell like bacon or gravy.” He laughed like I said a joke but I was serious.

“Sounds good.” He grabbed my hand and opened the door for me. He started humming so I figured I would see where Alistair and Melissa were.

‘Hey how is it going? Are you guys headed here with the witches or are you meeting us here in the morning to head out?’ I asked Alistair. I looked up and saw Edgar smiling at me so I stuck my tongue out at him. He lunged toward me like he was going to bite it and I squeaked.

‘We are headed there with the witches now. The coven leader is also with us. She wants to meet everyone.’

‘Sounds great. I would love to meet the person who has treated you guys so well and has also helped Melissa with some of her witchcraft.’ I know Melissa is going to be bragging about the s**t she has learned on this trip but in the end she will teach everyone else so we can use it to our advantage.

‘Also I really to go on a run so at some point today I need to do that.’ Blue perked up at that and growled at me. I knew I hadn’t let her out here.

‘Same here. I bet the guys feel the same so let’s do a pack run after meeting with the witches and vampires. Blue is about to beat me up for not letting her out more.’ I chuckled.

‘That sounds great! See you in just a bit.’

Breakfast was amazing and I made sure to tell all of the kitchen staff what a great job they were doing. They were able to keep up with not only their pack but my added Alpha’s and myself. Today they even made me biscuits and sausage gravy which sent me into my happy dance. I noticed everyone staring at me so I went still in my seat and just focused on eating.

“Baby your ears are red.” Blake teased. I elbowed him in the gut which shut him right up.

“Anyways the witches are on their way along with their coven leader our people. The coven leader wants to meet us all which is great in getting everyone comfortable around each other.” I looked over at Roger.

“That sounds great. I have seen some of their members in the woods we are on a run but never stopped to talk. We thought they would try to hurt our wolves so we just kept our distance.”

“Totally get that. Now you will have an ally coven so that is a huge step forward. Also I had a request.” I looked at the guys and back at Roger. “I need to let Blue out and I know the guys probably need to let theirs out. When we are done with the meetings can the guys, Alistair, and I go on a run? Maybe a hunt on your lands.”

“You are welcome to anything here. Do you mind if I join you?”

“Me too!” Trevor added.

“That is fine with me. Just be ready in case Blue decides she needs your wolves to know who is boss.” I shrugged. They should know the top dog sometimes has to show who is top dog and why.

They both nodded completely understanding. They had probably done the same thing to some of the warriors when they were out on runs. I hadn’t really felt any threat until we came to this pack and I could feel Blue’s need to be the best. I had to get over it because I bet she will feel this way at each pack and even worse if they try to challenge her.

The vampires made it there shortly after breakfast which was perfect because we were able to talk to them on full stomachs and already have down what we wanted to talk about. The main thing was talking about what kind of information we were really looking for but anything that is discussed in front of them or they overhear would probably benefit us. In one of my talks with Alistair he mentioned that the coven leader could spell a object that they could talk into and we would have the receiving end but we could also speak to them. There was also a shielding spell so only that person can use it so no spying back on us. I am a bit nervous they won’t be accepted so the spell won’t even be useful to us anyway.
