The Last Royal Luna

(Book 2) – Chapter 18

She took a deep breathe before speaking. “I understand and I apologize. I just haven’t been feeling the best and I am taking that out on you. If my mother were alive she would be boxing my ears. I hope that you will forgive me.” She looked at me and I saw a tear run down her cheek.

“I will if you tell your mate the news so it will help he understand what is wrong.” I had finally got a big sniff of her scent and I knew her hormones had changed so it was a lot for her.

She looked at Trevor nervously before nodding. “Baby, I am sorry for the stress I have been causing you. I normally don’t act like this and I blame it on the damn hormones. Who knew I would turn into a crazy b***h when pregnant.” She waited for his answer. I think he was a bit confused.

“Hormones? And don’t be sorry. I love all of you.” He smiled before his face sagged. That is when I knew he realized what she said.

“Pregnant? With my pup?”

“No, with the mail man’s baby.” Her face was serious and Trevor growled at that. “Yes, it is yours.”

Trevor howled and jumped up in excitement. He kept chanting he was going to be a dad over and over. Alpha Roger was laughing with a smile on his face but I could see the sadness. I hope he finds his mate soon. He deserves to be happy just as much as the rest of us.

“Wait. Will I make it back for the birth?” Trevor asked Roger.

“Well, crap. I didn’t think of that. How far along are you, Sarah?” Roger asked. I could see him calculating in his head before she even spoke.

“I am about a month so only two months left. I really don’t want to do the whole giving birth thing by myself.” I could agree with her on that, and it made me glad I had so many mates. More than enough choices on who I blame for all the pain.

“We should be able to fit all the packs we will be seeing within a little over a month. If something pops up that makes it harder for us to stick to that schedule, I will escort Trevor onto a plane myself.” He smiled at them both. “I really am happy for you. Trevor is like a brother to me and your like a sister.”

Sarah stood up and hugged Roger. He looked surprised but happy. It made the rest of us smile which is good before we got down to business. I felt bad about turning their good news into details of fighting, death, and such.

“Ok now that we have that figured out and the good news to brighten our meeting. We need to start in on our plans. How many packs are you going to be seeing? What are your thoughts on taking a witch along with you? Should the vampire you are taking with you be involved in the meeting?” I took a deep breath before asking more questions. “When will you be picking out the warriors you will be taking?”

“Dang. Calm down girl!” Roger smiled at me knowing I didn’t mean any harm or to undermine him. “We will be stopping at either six or seven different packs. I think about fifty percent will be willing to join us. Also only about three or four packs will allow a witch and vampire on their land let alone anyone near their people so we will playing that by ear.”

“Let the coven leader know we want to meet the witch first. We have already spent time with Abigail, the vampire, so we understand them better so we can trust her.” Trevor interjected.

“That sounds like a good idea, Trevor. I will link my beta after this meeting with any questions and information.” I looked at Roger waiting for him to continue.

“We will be taking most warriors and leaving just enough to protect the pack lands along with a few surprises. Abigail is meeting with Charles right now to settle some things so we will tell her about what we spoke about later today.”

“I am glad you have a head for planning. I had to write this all down and go over it a few times to get what I needed down correctly before handing it over to Ryder.” Blake joked.

“It is true but he is much better than I am on making sure we have all the details. I prefer to go over how we are going to do some sneak attacks and take out bigger clusters than taking them out one by one. I would rather we all get home safely.” I would hate to have to tell any of the pack members that their family member was killed in battle.

We all got our notes out and set about making a strategy to get as many allies as possible. We detailed out how we had planned all our visits and the hopes we had for our trip to end. I knew we would get a few packs and a few covens with how they were being treated and the family members getting killed off for the fun of it. Winning had really went to their heads and now they are hurting everyone like they own the world.

After I spoke talk about my powers, how I am working on them, and my strengths that would help the war I leaned against Knox and closed my eyes. They were all impressed with my powers but understood that I wanted to keep it under wraps. I referred to it as my secret weapon and I knew it would be a big help if I could use it to take out a huge group of them while staying a distance away or even focusing on where the witches were hiding and using their spells so I could target them.

“So we should check in about every other day to make sure we are on track and safe. And if we add any others to our traveling to get even more allies we should do a phone meeting so we can all benefit from the information.” Knox stated and we all agreed.

The meeting last another three hours so thank gosh one of the kitchen omega’s brought up lunch. We ended up speaking with Edgar and Charles to send a few vampires from their clan into the fold and they agreed. They know where a few clans of vampires were hiding out so they were going to send them in undercover like they have defected from their clan and needed to join up. We suggested the same plan to the coven and they agreed so tomorrow four witches will be showing up. One of them will head out with Roger and the others will get means to communicate with us before heading out. Two vampires were on their way back from our pack to do the same as the witches.

When the meeting ended, I quickly made an exit and ran back to my room and jumped on the bed landing like a star fish with my face in the pillows. It was so soft and comfortable I m****d in relief. I was excited for time alone with no stress of war, my heat, or someone needing something from me. I just wanted a long a*s hot bath and a long nap before talking with anyone. I link down to the omega chef and beg for some snacks which she snickered at before telling me yes.

‘You ok, Ryder? You ran out of the meeting at light speed!’ Asher linked.

‘I just need some alone time with a hot bath, sweet snacks, and a long nap.’ I replied as I got my bath started.

‘You deserve it. Do you need anything? Also who is sleeping with you tonight so I can let the guys know?’ I know he was hoping I would say him but I was about to disappoint him.

‘I actually want a night alone. After a week in that cabin I need to just be me and focus on only me. I love you all but when your around I focus on you.’ Blue cringed knowing it was hurtful for both parties when something like that is said but she agreed. We just want them to be happy and well taken care of all of the time.

‘I get it. I will let the guys know. We love you.’ He ended the link and I felt like running to him to make him feel better, but I had to be back in my happy place in order to take care of my men.
