The Inauguration

Chapter 29

“She’s attacked every pack in the south,” Perla Ruine, Alpha of the Sunfair Clandestine addressed the rest of the council, ” she has threatened to continue with these attacks if we do not give her what she wants”.

“And what is it that she wants?”, Lucius asks. He awaits the answer he already knew. He knew this was long coming, he knew it was just a matter of time before Elina broke and did what she did best.

Cause destruction and pain to get what she wants and in the end, she will act like she’s being the victim all along.

“She wants to be queen,” Perla growls under her breath, “she wants that mutt of her son to be King, and worst of all Richard isn’t doing anything about it”.

Solani scoffs at the name of the male,” the man never had a chance, all Elina had to do was show her tits and the male will roll over like a lost puppy,” murmurs of agreements filled the halls and a few chuckles from the males in the room echoed.

Genhji rolled her eyes and nudged Lucius to continue with the meeting, ignoring the way he looked at her sister and she hated it. The more they were in the same room, the more the bond grew between them and Genhji wanted none of that, she didn’t want them together. Whenever she caught them looking at each other, their eyes filled with this disgusting need and want she cursed the moon forever bonding them together.

This was torture.

She was torn between two places, between too many spaces. Her emotions were all over the place and all she wanted more at this moment was to leave this hall and never return but Lucius’s plan and Elina’s want for power wouldn’t let her.

Sparks ignited through her body and the tension in her body left her slowly, she turned and looked into the brown orbs that were hers and she sighed before drawing his hand away from hers.

She paid attention to the discussion before her. She paid attention to their course of action following Elina’s futile attacks and she knew everything was going accordingly to his plan.

His plan.

Did it include her? Did she matter in their plans? In their life? Was she going to be there after all this mess? Was she going to be returning with them back to the pack? Would she even allow it?

No.

She clenched her eyes and shook her head at the idea, at the repulsive thought.

Her eyes popped open and she glared at her sister. She glared at the person she was supposed to be happy to see after all these years. She was supposed to be happy that she was still alive. She was…so many things we’re supposed to happen but they didn’t and that’s all her fault.

Her brain keeps reminding her of that. Keeps reminding her who is to blame, who is to blame for all the misery and pain she endured before meeting Lucius and Tobias.

Her life was filled with pain and misery, after all, that happened to her and her family. She lost everything that day, she lost her family and she lost her sister that same day. She still couldn’t believe that everything was because of her.

But seeing her there, seeing her smile and blush every time Lucius looked in her way, was like a bucket of cold water being poured on her, a reminder that it truly did happen.

The longer she looked at her, the more the screams and voices filled her head, the longer she saw the brown golden skin that reminded her of her own, the more she heard the echoes of growls on the battlegrounds.

The colour of their eyes reminded her of the female, reminded her of her fathers. The same eyes that had turned to her and begged her to run, begged her to leave the place she called home because he knew that if she had stayed then she would have had to endure the same fate.

The colour of her white, the white hair she was proud of, the white hair that they both got from their father was a reminder of how his was brown and mangled after he was captured, how it soaked most of his blood that day.

As if feeling the burning gaze and maybe she couldn’t ignore it anymore, she turned to meet Genhji burning eyes. Her fists curled up and she felt her chest tighten at her sister’s eyes.

Even the comforting sparks of her mate were not enough, she released a grow that echoed in the hall. The discussion that had continued regardless of her internal destruction had suddenly come to a rust halt at the sound.

They all watched as she stood from her chair and rushed out of the room leaving a stunned audience but she could care less. Her skin was boiling and all she wanted to do right was punch someone and the only someone she thought deserved her wrath was her sister.

The same woman who was her best friends mate. The same woman who was mated to her brother. The same woman who was supposed to be family.

She rushed to the bathroom and her growl echoed through the room. Her eyes kept shifting from green to yellow, yellow to green and her composure was diminishing with every second that passed.

She laughed before screaming in rage with her hands latched onto the sink….but the pressure became too much as the sink cracked and finally gave out.

She went down with it, her ears and mind echoing with the screams and shrills of that night.
