The Heart Sees

I had just ended the mind link with Lu when Terry came and helped me up. Chase had some how managed to get up to the window and open it. Then when I went to check it out he shifted mid-air and dug his claws into my hands, which still hurt... I'm not sure how he got past the patrol and to the pack house, but I'm glad that I finally have a chance to end this. "When did he get here?" Terry asked as Chase struggled to stand up in his wolf form.. I'm guessing he hurt himself on the way down.

"Not long ago. Thank goodness he didn't get to Lu again" I mumbled.

"Liam mind linked me. He is with her in the safe room in the basement of the pack house" Terry huffed.

"Well isn't this a cute little meeting" Chase suddenly said as he sat on the ground in his human form.

"How did you get to the pack house?" I growled.

"I snuck my way in by masking my scent and the rest was easy since you can't exactly see me" Chase laughed.

"Why won't you leave my mate alone. What you did to her was against all of the pack laws!" I screamed.

"Someone is touchy" he tisked. "She was my mate first. The moon goddess paired us together for a reason and you are just a bump in my way" Chase snarled.

"Well you gave up any rights to her when you rejected her and banished her from the pack!" I yelled.

"I didn't know omegas were so good at producing pups or I would have kept her for myself" Chase explained. "I wouldn't of had to force her if you weren't in the picture. She would have come back to me willingly" he growled.

"As if she would ever go back to you or your pack! You treated her like a slave!" I said angrilly.

"I would have had a chance! But now we'll never know because you some how brainwashed her into believing that you are her mate!" Chase replied.

"All I did was be nice to her and treat her with respect. I also didn't turn her away or force her into anything. It's no wonder she doesn't want to be with you" I snapped.

"Yeah right! Why would she be interested in a blind alpha?" Chase laughed. "But if you're going to stand in my way then I guess I'll just have to challenge you and take this pack" he threatened.

"Alright I'll accept your challenge. But when I win you'll get the death penalty" I snarled.

"So be it! But when I win Lu is coming with me and you won't try and stop her" Chase said before he shifted into his wolf.

'We can do this! He hurt mate! So he must pay!' Brax growled in my head as we shifted into our wolf form.

I stood my ground and listened for where he was approaching from. I heard the sound of his paws coming directly at me so I waited until I could smell his horrible stench and then swiped my paws in front of me. I didn't feel any impact though, so he must have dodged my attack. 'Let's go get him!' I said to Brax as we started moving slowly forwards. I kept a slower speed so that I could still clearly hear Chase's movements

I heard something crunch to my left and spun in that direction. Then I felt the impact as Chase's wolf slammed into my side and knocked me over. I slid against the ground, my fur getting matted up with dirt and twigs. "This will be easier than I thought!" I heard Chase's wolf in my mind as I struggled to get up.

I snarled at him when I realized that the crunching noise was something he had thrown to distract me. I shook out my fur and waited for his next move. I heard him approaching from the right this time and turned to snap my jaw at him. I was just in time as I tasted blood in my mouth. But the force that he ran at me with threw us both off balance and we rolled on each other towards the pack house.

I kept my teeth firmly latched onto his wolf and the extra movements caused his skin to tear more as he let out a whine. When I was rolled under him he swiftly kicked up his hind legs and clawed me in the stomach, leaving a nasty gash. My jaw released as a result of the pain and I felt Chase back away.

"You're weak! I don't know how a blind alpha can ever lead a pack" Chase yelled through the mind link before he ran at me again.

I dodged just in time and rolled to the side. "You're pretty brave coming on to my land and attacking me at my pack house to get MY mate" I snarled back. Just before he got to me I kicked up a large rock by my foot and successfully flung it at his face. There was a sickening crack and a yelp from Chase as I smelled blood. I must have really got him with that.

Thanks to Chase's injury, I could smell him more clearly and had a better idea of where he was attacking from. I ran towards Chase and head butted him so that he landed on his back. Then I pinned him by his throat and bit down hard... but Chase wasn't done yet.

He wrapped his paws around me and flipped us over so that he stood over top of me. I stayed latched onto his neck and bit down with all the strength I had. I could tell that he was losing a lot of blood, but he still thrashed around and managed to claw me straight across my ribs. Brax whimpered in pain in my head and started to feel weaker.

"Hold on Brax! Our mate needs us! We vowed to her!" I shouted at him and he managed to shake Chase's neck harder.

"Even if you kill me.... we'll both always know that I mated her first.... I took a part of her that she will never get back" Chase laughed weakly through the mind link before I shook harder and snapped his neck. Then his body fell limply on top of mine.
