The Damned Princess

After we were done with our dinner, I was doing the dishes in the kitchen and Becky came and nudged my shoulder. I looked at her and asked “what”. She had this mischievous smile on her face and said “so?“. “So, what”, I asked. “I know you were with Jayson which is why you were late, tell me everything right now”, she asked very excitedly.

I blushed hearing his name, I was never the person who blushed what is wrong with me, I said “nothing happened, we just talked”. “Talked about what”, Becky asked. I shrugged and said “just class and stuff about it”.

She squealed like a little girl “omg he’s in your class, you never told me that”. I tried to shush her, “no, shush we just have one class in common would you stop, it’s not like he declared his undying love for me” and rolled my eyes at her but internally I was also jumping up and down. “Oh, shut up you, that’s how things start, you talk and you kiss and you fall in love”, she said dreamily.

“Becky, he’s a human how will I ever explain things to him. I can’t be like, hey, I’m a monster but I’ll never harm you. What if he rejects me” I questioned and just the thought of him rejecting me broke my heart. Becky said “come here and sit with me”, I washed my hands and went to sit with her.

She held my hand and said very softly, “Enna moon goddess made this person just for you, she wouldn’t have brought him in your life if she were planning to make him reject you”. “You aren’t a monster, you’re a beautiful person and there could be no other person who would be able to make him as happy as you could”.

She added, “He’ll never reject you, sweety. And about your biggest worry, nothing could stop fate. What’s supposed to happen will happen no matter how hard we try to stop it. We’ll all protect him and when you are mated to him, he’ll become a lycan and he’ll be strong enough to protect himself. You’re thinking too much, forget everything and just try to enjoy this feeling, fall in love, and make him fall for you, moon goddess is watching over all of us”.

This brought tears to my eyes, “Becky thank you so much for always being there for me. From the time we’ve moved away you’ve been like a mother to me even when I behave like a brat and if we see our ages, I should be the responsible one. Thank you so much, I love you”. She got up and hugged me really tight and said “I love you more Enna, you’re like my baby sister no matter how old you are and I’ll always be there for you”.

I smiled at her brightly, she said “now come on, it’s not time to sulk, think about how you’ll tell your mate our truth and make that handsome yours forever” and winked at me. I laughed at her and left for my room saying good night. I shouted “good night Liam” on my way upstairs and he shouted it back to me.

I was on my bed trying to fall asleep but I couldn’t stop thinking about what happened today. He was so close to me; I was dying to run my hands in his curly hair and kiss him and claim his lips as mine forever. My lycan wanted to mark him right there so that everybody would know that he’s mine and I’m his.

I was scared as well, scared that if I touched him and he felt the sparks I’d have to explain it to him. But it was still the best day of my life, my heart has never felt this kind of happiness ever, “I’m officially crazy for him” I said to myself. I fell asleep replaying today again and again and smiling like a fool.

I was ready by eight and went down for breakfast, who knew I’d become a morning person just to get to look at my mate. Becky and Liam weren’t in the kitchen or in the living area. I knocked on their door, none of them answered.

I knocked again and shouted, “Liam! Becky! Li, are you both okay”? Liam opened the door, he said while yawning “what happened Enna why are up so early on a Saturday morning”. “What” I shouted. My loud noise made him wince and he said “why are you shouting, go sleep and let me sleep as well” and he shut the door at my face.

“Goddess, it’s weekend that means I don’t get to see him for two whole days, why” I cried to myself. I couldn’t go back to sleep again so I thought why not make breakfast. I played music because cooking is dull without it. I prepared some scrambled eggs because I can’t do fancy looking things. I prepared a whole stack of pancakes with some bacon because I and Li like it a lot. I also made some coffee and fresh orange juice.

I was setting the table while singing with the song, “I don’t really want a trust fund baby, I like my women independent”. When I was done, I turned around Liam and Becky were standing there staring at me. “Oh, you woke up, good I was going to call you two because babies guarda cosa ho fatto (look what I made)” I said while I pointed to the table like I did some magic trick.

Liam said, “yeah it’s hard to sleep when such loud music is going on”. “Oops”, I said and grinned at him. Becky laughed “why didn’t you wake me up Enna, I could have helped you”. “No Becks, you deserve a day off from playing babysitter to us both”, I said to her.

“Come on let’s eat, cooking made me really hungry”, I said. I served everything to Becky and said “you start first and tell me if everything’s okay”. She thanked me and started eating, I was looking at her to see if she liked it or not, it’s not like I haven’t cooked before but I just don’t do it often enough to know if I’m good or not.

“Everything tastes really good Enna; you both can also start now”, Becky said. Liam looked at me, “what” I asked. “Serve to me as you did for Becky”, he said. “Use your huge monstrous hands, you man child”, I told him and both Becky and I laughed. He pouted and muttered, “you both are really mean”.

I rolled my eyes but then served him food which made him grin like an idiot. We all started eating, while the music was still on but I changed the setting from repeat to shuffle because Liam started complaining about how I get obsessed with one song and then hate it after a few days.

“So, what miracle woke you up on a Saturday morning to prepare breakfast”, Becky questioned. Liam started laughing at me, I smiled sheepishly and said “I didn’t realize it was Saturday, I thought we had to go to college so yeah”. Becky also started laughing, I mocked their laugh and said “enough laughing at me, shut up now”.

Liam smirked and said, “I’m really dying to meet your guy Enna, I’m hoping he’ll teach you some other things too, that I have been trying for ages”. I couldn’t come up with a comeback, so I just stuck out my tongue at them.

Liam told us “in the evening we’re training and when it’s dark we’ll go for a run, okay”. “No, we were thinking to make it a girl’s day and get our hair and nails done” Becky whined. I don’t mind training instead, I love to beat the shit out of people or things whatever but Becky isn’t a fan so she was poking me to tell Liam to not train us today.

I laughed at her childish behavior and said, “Liam why today, we can train some other day and just go for a run today?” “No, it has been too long since we’ve trained, you both can do all your girly things tomorrow”, he said. “Cool”, I replied. Becky looked at me like I betrayed her and said “yeah whatever”. I laughed at her and left both of them alone saying “I’ve got some assignments to do, call me down when it’s time to train”. Liam said “okay”.

I was working on my assignment for a few hours now, I was close to completing it but now I started to lose my interest. How dull is my life, people go out to a party or on dates on weekends and look at me working on my assignment, I thought.

My phone started buzzing, when I found it in the mess, I saw it was Violette calling me, I answered “Hey V, what’s up”, “Hi bro, what are you doing”? she said. Yeah, we call each other bro because apparently, we are too call to call each other sister. “Nothing, just working on my assignment, why’s my life so boring V” I whined.

She answered “don’t worry, I’m here to make your life better, there’s a party tomorrow and we’re going” she shouted the going to party bit so loud, she’ll make me deaf. “I don’t do parties so nah”, I said. “Oh, shut up, you need to have some fun, so we’re going”, she said.

I replied, “I don’t know V; can’t we do something else”. “Your handsome basketball guy might be there, it’s a party to welcome the new players”, she said. I did the mistake of replying in a flash “really, you sure”? I heard her laughing, “shut up, I don’t care and I’m not going” I added but now I was interested.

“It’s okay Enna, I approve of your crush”, she said, I know that sly bitch was smirking. “Shut up V, I don’t have any crush on him”, I said. She answered, “yeah right, blind people know how you look at him, we’re going tomorrow and I’ll talk to Becky if she and Liam would come too”. “Okay, but we’ll go shopping tomorrow because Becky wants to and you can join us and to make things clear I’m going only because you want me to”, I said. “Whatever helps you sleep at night Enna” she laughed at me and hung up.

I started with my assignment again. The moment I was done with it, Liam called me for training. I changed into my sports bra and yoga pants and a loose tank top. I went downstairs, they both were already in the backyard.

We have a quite large backyard, I and Becky begged Liam to change it into a swimming pool area but apparently training is more important so he covered it and made it into a gym like training area. Becky and Liam were already stretching out there and warming up so I joined them.

After doing a few exercises, I moved to the punching bag. I love it, hitting it relieves me of all the tension. I was throwing punches and kicks on the bag but Liam interrupted me “Enna you’re going really slow, come on practice with me”, “sure” I said.

Liam is really strong, he has learned various things like Martial arts, Jiu-jitsu, boxing, and many others. In all these years he has mastered himself so well, that both his arms have equal strength instead of having one upper hand and I’m really trying to master that because it works as a great element of surprise during a fight.

All the moves I made, he blocked them very easily, I was trying but I couldn’t land one punch on him. He smirked, “you’ve gone too slow Enna; I can literally see your moves before you make it”. I wasn’t saying anything, I was just trying to concentrate on my moves. “I think finding your mate turned you into a softy little sister, you’re losing your fire” he commented again.

I know he was trying to rile me up and it was getting hard to concentrate. He again said, “I don’t think you’ll be able to protect him like this sister”. I looked in his eyes, he knew he said the wrong thing and he’ll get his ass kicked now.
