Chapter Fifteen | Beauty And Grace

Vincent surveyed his surroundings. A heavy feeling in his gut as he could not find Xenia anywhere. It had been hours and she was nowhere to be found and nobody knew where she was.

His feet make him travel around the village in a stressed state while fiddled with his fingers. He knew he should have stopped training when Jack started to help, he knew he should have gone with her as he hated being apart from her, but he stayed instead.

Blaze tried to break through the barrier of his mind, but he kept him down as hard as he could. Blaze coming to the surface was not going to help him as he needed to keep a clear mind. Some Pack members were noisy while they wrinkled their noses at him in disgust, but he was used to it. He was never going to tell Xenia that most of the Pack still hated his guts.

He stopped in his steps and tried to think. He already searched the entire Packhouse, the garden, the Werefox area, and the river but she was nowhere to be found other than her scent that was by the water when he looked mixed with another one that seemed familiar.

His face wrinkled at the thought of the scent before his eyes widened in realisation. Grace! The little minx, who tried to get him to adopt her after telling him that she was looking for her mother.

Softly growling in annoyance, he made his way towards the orphanage and walked up the steps. A few of the mothers that worked there smiled at him and bowed in respect before continuing with their business.

His face turned red as he looked away and continued down the hall. His hands opened the door to the playroom as his eyes instantly landed on Xenia. Her dark hair in pigtails as she spun around with a tutu around her hips. A little boy on her back laughing with tears down his face and Grace in her arms with the same energy.

Two other little boys ran around her legs as they giggled and played around her. Xenia radiated happiness while she played with them. The kids attached themselves around her as if they had known her their entire lives and Vincent soon found himself completely captivated by her.

Xenia let go of Grace as one of the other boys wanted to be picked up next. Grace’s little face red from laughing as her eyes turned to Vincent before widening them in shock and smiled sheepishly.

Vincent raised an eyebrow towards her as her grin widened. Her little feet ran over towards him as she grabbed his hand and pulled him into the room fully. “Come play with us!” She giggled, Xenia, catching Grace’s words as she looked at Vincent with a wide smile on her face.

His heart stopped then and there as he saw it. Small dimples formed on her cheeks while her brown eyes sparkled. Grace forced him to look away as she made him sit down and placed a crown on his head.

“He... He a prince!” One of the boys giggled, his tiny self, staring up at Xenia with adoration as she sat down with him. “A... A big, scary prince.”

“He is not scary.” Xenia laughed, hugging the boy in her lap as he snuggled into her. The two other boys ran off as they both caught sight of something they wanted. “He is cute.”

Grace shook her head, plopping herself into Vincent’s lap as he had to roll his eyes at her. She was attached to him from the day she decided to drag him into the garden to plant flowers. “And quiet unlike you Beta.”

“Hey, I do not talk too much!” Xenia pouted, her plump lips spreading out in a way that caused him to stare a little longer than he realised. “What do you want to play now?”

“Mummy and daddy’s now that we have a daddy!” Grace cheered, getting out of Vincent’s lap as she ran off to get a few things. The little boy followed behind while Vincent paled.

He did not know what the game was about, but it terrified him, Xenia quietly laughing to herself as she noticed his facial expression. “I do not care what anyone says, you are adorable.”

Vincent’s eyes widened even more as his face heated. Her laugh got louder as he stared at her. Her head rolling back as her laugh invaded his ears, he did not want her to stop as he noticed the kids coming back, Grace eyeing them both as she smiled. “Are you both mates?”

Xenia nodded. “Yes honey, we are.”

“The moon goddesses made a weird decision.” She commented before shrugging and handing Vincent a doll. “This is my baby sister! You are the daddy!”

“Okay.” He mumbled, lifting the doll to stare into its soulless eyes. The doll creeped him out as its head fell limp onto its stomach. “W... what do I d... do?”

Grace grinned while the little boy sat down quietly and began to play with a toy car next to Xenia. “You have to kiss the mummy and the mummy is Beta Xenia.”

Vincent felt his heart drop, his breath hitching as he shook his head. “I... I uh... I... ”

Xenia laughed, crawling over to him, and kissing his cheek. His face heating up again at the feel of her soft lips on his skin sending shivers throughout his body. Blaze purring in delight from it as the sparks enhanced even more.

“So, god damn cute!” Xenia smiled, playing with the little boy’s hair while he cringed at what happened.

Grace clapped in delight before winking at him. She was a devil, pure and evil.
