The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate

Chapter 145 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate

POV

"It's pink," Ada, my wolf, grumbled. When I pulled into the circle drive, we could see into the giant windows along the front of the once forgotten resort hotel.

It was atrocious. It looked like the inside of a pepto bismol bottle. It was painfully pink. Who the hell paints walls this color? Not even an accent wall, but all the walls, from floor to ceiling. And then the ceiling's dirty glass skylights were reflecting the offensive pink back, the sunlight sneaking in giving the higher part of the wall the image of being scribbled over with a highlighter. It sucked.

"And you have to act like you're here to view the property to put it on the market," Ada snickered. "No one wants to buy this shitty eyesore."

She was right. Even if I was a real realtor, this would be a freakishly hard sell. The amount of work that went into painting the inside was such a waste. Graffiti would have looked better than this. Giant penises and boobs would have been less assaulting to my eyes. "Well.... At least they didn't paint the outside pink too."

"No, but baby blue isn't a vibe anyone wants either. Looks like someone threw up cotton candy all over this place. What kind of insane woman chose this visual assault? She must have been a circus freak in a past life."

"Or a candy vendor. A crazy one," I muttered.

I heard all about this Luna from the three warrior wolves, Alexi, Beau, and that one that only shows up to the witches' house at night. Jamie. Whenever Beau was there, all he would talk about was how insane this Luna was. Watching her confirmed that she was more crazy now. All he wanted was to get his friend away from her.

That poor schmuck. Boyd was his name? I heard that he was originally fated to this freak of a woman. Maybe he did something offensive in his past life too.

Warriors were lined discreetly outside the hotel, through the forest when they were just out of the naked eye. If I wasn't a werewolf, I wouldn't have noticed them because I wouldn't have picked up their scents.

"We're counting six warriors from up here," Kai said in the magical earrings, his voice floating through my head like a mind link would. "There's a lot of movement inside too." "Good movement or bad movement?"

"Movement," he answered. "The view isn't clear enough for specifics. We'll be watching through the necklace, so just keep your heart steady, and tell us if anything feels off."

"This entire freaky bubble gum hotel feels off. Like it's out of a damn horror movie," I grumbled.

I heard his and Rodger's low laughter, then the voices cut off, probably so as not to distract me. The earrings were strange to use. It was like having a mind linking walkie-talkie. I almost felt the click of it turning on and off in my head.

I steadied my breathing, ready to get into character as I turned off the car. Once I stepped my foot outside the car, it was just me. This was a lone mission, and a highly dangerous one at that.

"Why did we volunteer for this?" Ava grumbled. "I didn't sign up to get eye raped by the color pink."

"You wanted to come on this mission just as much as I did," I reminded her. I don't know if it was nostalgia or what, but both of us were quick to take up the offer when it was presented.

I was about halfway to the door, clipboard in hand, looking around like I was appraising the exterior of the large building when the warriors stepped into full view and the front door swung wide open. There stood a tall, brooding, very large Alpha that I recognized from his reddish hair. I knew he was large seeing him from far off, but he looked even bigger close up. His irises were almost black, and a little luminescent. It was freaky to look at, and made him look even more menacing. It was like the slightest twist of the stick he had shoved up his ass would turn his eyes all black and send him into a rage.

Right behind him there was a dirty blonde woman with a twisted smile. His Luna. The circus freak woman herself. Her hair was long, almost to her waist. It was obvious she spent a lot of time and money on her appearance. She was the embodiment of vanity. The lift in her chin and the way her eyes looked up and down my dress added to her snobbish demeanor. I was suddenly thankful for this designer dress from Winnie. I could only imagine how this woman would have looked at me if I came in what I usually wear; sweats or jeans. There was something else about the woman I just couldn't stand. It made me restless. Something about her scent smelled sweet, but wrong at the same time. Ada perked up and exposed her teeth every time we got a whiff.

I stomached it as best I could, ignoring the restless feeling, summing it up to the stress of the situation.

"Hello!" I beamed with fake cheerfulness. "How are ya'll doin' this fine afternoon. It's a beautiful day, isn't it?!"

"Why the heck are you talking like that?" Ada scoffed with amusement.

"I'm playing the part! What kind of Texas realtor wouldn't have a thick accent?"

"Uh, a normal one."

"Thanks," I huffed inwardly while still beaming on the outside. "Shut your trap and quit distracting me."

Ada whipped her tail, but did as I said, hunkering down to watch the show.

The Alpha took a deep breath, his nostrils flaring as he picked up my scent in the air. I tensed slightly, praying there weren't any lingering scents from Setting Sun. My shoulders almost sagged with relief when I saw some of the hostility lessen in the Alpha's stance. "Who are you and what do you want?" He demanded.

Maintaining my grin, I stepped forward and offered him my hand in an exaggerated manner. "Cindy Steele." I offered the false name all of us had settled on in a planning meeting. "I'm the agent sent from Keely Whilems Real Estate to access the property. I'm excited about getting started! The market is hot for projects like this." I made a point of looking around the ugly-painted resort. "As discussed on the phone, I first will need to get a look at every inch of this lovely property." I pulled a professional camera out of my bag.

"What are you talking about?" The circus freak woman stepped forward, a haughty scowl on her pinched face. "Who did you speak with on the phone?" She glared between me and the Alpha, accusation in her assuming eyes.

I did my best to look confused. "Are you not Alpha Rodrick from The Lazy Moon Pack?" I used my own Alpha's name in the fabrication, just as Rodger and I had planned. We even used the name of a real estate house owned by Setting Sun for pack business. "You called my office and discussed with my boss about listing this place on the market now that the numbers are more in your favor. She told me you would have the place ready to look around and get some details for the listing today." The Alpha and snobby Luna exchanged a look, their eyes flashing while they mind linked.

I was getting nervous that maybe I had been found out, but then a smooth, deep voice spoke up from the only dark corner of the room.

"Ah, Cindy Steele! Yes, yes," a dark-haired man dressed in a pin-striped suit came forward. He had a cane in his hands, though he wasn't using it to walk. Just gripping it loosely. The cane would have been unnoticeable, just a part of the outfit, if not for the ominous snake handle at the end. Its black jewel eyes shone in the light, and I swear I saw the thing blink.

"We were the ones that made such an inquiry. I'm so thrilled about your enthusiasm for this particular project. Come in! Come in!" He waved the Alpha and Luna out of the way with a sweep of his cane, then beckoned me with his hand. The Luna looked distraught, but didn't argue. "Thanks," I nodded, a sick feeling twisting in my gut as the necklace around my neck started to pulse against my chest.
