Chapter 146 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Chloe POV
"Bets are simple," I said, pacing around the green felt table with a que stick in my hands. "If you win, I'll sit out, playing the loyal, boring doll you both want me to be." Miles growled. "I never said I wanted you to be a doll."
"Sex doll, maybe," Mick muttered under his breath. I chose to ignore him.
"Neither of you needed to say it. It's clear you would rather me stay here in the pack house and be worthless than be out there helping you. That's why you weren't telling me shit." "We weren't telling you shit because we were protecting you from-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," I waved my hand to stop Mick's repetitive argument. "Say what you want. I get it. I really do. I'm just not willing to give in without a fight."
"I'll fight you right now," Mick stepped up, pressing his chest to mine. A tremor ran down my body, feeling his heat. "Forget playing pool. I'll fight you right now, and we can end this for good. An all-out brawl." "Ah, you're cute," I smacked his cheek with my palm. A wicked smile lifted my lips when I shocked him with my magic on the last slap.
He yelped, jerking back and cradling his cheek. "What the hell?!"
"Just a little love tap," I beamed. "If you want to go with hand-to-hand combat, we can, but I have a feeling you won't be happy afterward. Not with me invalidating you in front of the other warriors."
Mick's eyes narrowed on me. "I'm not stupid, Chloe. I know I can't win against you at pool."
I shrugged. "Then just give in without me having to embarrass you."
He pressed up against me again, the tension thick in the air. "You think you're invincible now that you got a little bit of magic in you, but I can still dominate you in other ways."
I choked on a laugh, making him even angrier. "You're serious? Fine. You want to play it that way, let's see who dominates who."
While the hostile energy stretched between us, Miles stood off to the side, watching, a cue stick resting behind his head with both of his arms hooked around it.
"What do you get if you win?" Miles suddenly asked.
I held Mick's hostile gaze for a few seconds longer, then turned to look at my other mate. "I want out of this place. I want to train with the warriors every morning, just like before. I want to be included in every decision concerning myself. I want to be informed of everything going on, and," my eyes shifted between them both, "you quit pulling out."
"Tell 'em, girl!" Cortina cheered, more enthused about that last part than the rest.
"Chloe," Mick said tightly. "We already told you why we don't want you to get pregnant yet."
"Yeah, yeah," I held my hand up. "I got it. It doesn't make me feel less like a kept doll. It feels like a rejection every time you avoid finishing the deed with me, so both you assholes are going to knock it the fuck off, or," I grinned sweetly, "I'm going to just get myself off from now on." My smile darkened when they both growled. "You won't be included in my pleasure anymore."
"Are you ready for a baby?" Mick asked tensely. "Are you trying to say you're ready? I'll give you one right now if you put the rest of this shit to rest."
I flipped him off, not in the mood to go in circles again. "It's not about not being ready. Honestly, if it's with you two, I know I'll be fine no matter what. Even if I get pregnant tomorrow, I know that even if I freak out or struggle emotionally, I'll be fine." I smirked and added, "I got Nonna after all.
"So you're ready not because your relationship with us is secure, but because you have total faith in our grandmother?"
I shrugged. "Maybe." I have faith in our relationship too, but Mick's starting to piss me off again, so I'm not admitting that right now.
"Then, no. I'll just have someone go get us a truckload of condoms later."
My face fell hearing that, and Mick noticed. His eyes went soft again, some of the tension draining from his face. "Cara, I'm just saying-"
"It feels like abandonment," I admitted, finally finding the right words to describe the feeling I get every time they refuse to complete that most intimate act with me. "It leaves me feeling empty. Like you both are refusing to complete that final act to bind us together." We all went silent, and it felt heavy again in the room. "I've been abandoned enough in my life. I finally want to have a family. With the both of you."
"Chloe," Mick rubbed his hands down my arms, pulling me to his chest. "We are already your family."
"I know," I whispered.
He held me, and I leaned into his touch while still gripping the que stick in my hand. I was mindlessly twirling it, thinking about how to start the argument of making a bet over again with the sudden somber mood, but then Miles spoke up. "You have a deal."
Mick and I both turned to look at him. Miles leaned his stick against the table, then started to pull out the balls from the pockets. "Really?" My face lit up.
"No," Mick shook his head at his brother. "You don't understand how freakishly good she is."
Miles just shrugged. "I think I'll take my chances."
Cortina and I started cheering in my head, both for different reasons. The hussy wanted the possibility of pups, and I wanted my freedom back. Safe freedom. I still planned on being with my mates when I could and trying to unburden them as much as possible, but I was done sitting at home and being the oblivious doll of a Luna. They were going to inform and include me of everything from now on.
I just had to win this match first.
I was hurrying to help set up the balls, moving around the table and ignoring Mick's attempts to talk Miles out of playing me. Miles had his mind made up, and nothing Mick said phased him. He just shrugged off all his concern.
After the table was set, Miles turned to me, leaning in to whisper roughly in my ear. "I want to add a stipulation to the bet." His eyes were sharp and looked so sexy and dangerous. It caught me off guard for a second. "Wh-what?"
A slow smile spread on his lips. He nipped at my earlobe with a low growl. "If I win, I get to bend you over this pool table."
