Chapter-45
Damon
Bane of my existence
“Only two of you three can go back to Earth,” Hades said.
“WHAT???!!” all three of us exclaimed.
“What the fuck do you mean?” Cyra asked.
“Look, people entering and going out of hell alive is not an easy feat. Considering how much that has happened recently, the barriers of hell would break down if I let all three of you go to Earth. If that happens, the living world and the dead world would merge and that is not going to end well for either of us. I didn’t expect Aaron to come to hell,” Hades exclaimed.
I was fuming. This man is the bane of my existence. My supposed father just seemed to make my life worse. First, he took me away from my mother, and now, he’s taking me away from my mate. I FUCKING HATE HIM!
I stormed off into my own room, banging the door. I threw down my lamp and broke a chair.
The door suddenly opened behind me and I felt her enter. She touched my arms and I felt my anger lowering down. I turned around and pulled Cyra towards me. She instantly wrapped her hands around me. We stayed like that for a very long time.
When she pulled away, I saw her eyes a little red. She was crying. I wiped her tears and gently stroked her cheeks.
“I’m sorry I got your shirt all wet,” she mumbled.
I chuckled, “That’s what you’re worried about?”
“I thought if I could ignore the problem it would disappear. Even though that doesn’t work, I can sure as hell try,” Cyra said.
“Cyra, I think you and Uncle Aaron should go,” I whispered.
“What? No, Damon you…” Cyra started.
“I have been living in hell for years. You both have a family there. I’ve no one out there Cyra, you do. I survived,” I said, still stroking her cheek as more tears started falling.
“You have me,” Cyra whispered.
I hate to see her cry, but I cannot be selfish about this. I have to let her go, even if it means never seeing her again. My heart broke a little at that thought.
“C’mon, deep down, we both knew we were never going to work,” I said.
“What can I say, fate is a fuckin bitch!” she said.
“You seem to be cursing a lot today,” I chucked.
“Trust me, I am cursing way more in my head,” she grunted.
“When are you going to leave?” I asked.
“Hades said that we have to leave tomorrow as he has to seal the portal Uncle Aaron opened to come in,” she hugged me again and I unconsciously made lazy circles on her arm.
We stayed like that for a few minutes, comfortable in each other’s arms. She fit so perfectly there like we were two pieces of puzzle meant to be joined. If only fate would let us stay like that.
Our moment was broken by a knock on the door.
“Damon, Cyra, come and eat dinner. Also, Persephone has woken up so you can meet her too now,” Uncle Aaron said.
“We’ll be right there,” Cyra answered.
“I guess we have to leave,” I said.
“I guess so. How about we start with getting out of each other’s arms?” Cyra said.
“We should, but I really don’t want to,” I said.
“It’s funny how we always ended up like this when we slept and were reluctant to get away from each other when we woke up, but now we just can’t seem to let each other go,” she giggled.
“How do you know we ended up like that the second time?” I asked.
“Maybe I always knew,” she answered and I could feel her smiling.
“Then why didn’t you do something?” I asked looking at her this time.
“Maybe I just didn’t want to,” she smiled even brighter.
“We should probably go before someone comes again, shouldn’t we?” I asked.
“Yeah, probably,” she said, this time finally letting go.
She interlocked her fingers in mine and led me outside. I watched in amusement as she led us through different hallways and took random turns.
“You have no idea where we are going, do you?” I chuckled.
“Nope! This castle is too damn confusing!” She exclaimed.
“How did you not learn the ways in two years?” I laughed and led the way now.
“This place is way too big!” she said.
We reached the dining hall where I saw Persephone, Hades and Uncle Aaron sitting.
“Persephone, you’re up! How are you? Shouldn’t you be resting or something? Are you feeling okay now?” Cyra rambled.
I love when she does that.
“Yes Cyra, I am fine. Gods heal faster than others, so I am perfectly fine. Thank you both so much for getting the potion for me,” she smiled at us and I gave her a small smile back.
We all sat down at the table and ate. Mainly, Persephone and Cyra talked while we three only intervened a little here and there. I just absorbed her sweet voice. I’m going to miss it so much.

I'm crying! Why?! I mean I know I did that but still. They just opened their hearts to each other. 😭😭😭😭
