Chapter-44

Cyra

Cheezy lines

“Shit you are! Why haven’t you healed yet?” Damon exclaimed.

“Oh, I got this cut from a silver knife. It’s fine though, it’ll heal soon enough,” I told him.

Ignoring what I just said, he came up to me and touched the cut. His eyes started glowing and I gasped.

“All healed!” he said.

I looked down to find my skin flawless again. The only proof that it was ever cut was the blood that came out.

“Wha..how?” I gasped.

“Well, being Hade’s son has some perks. How do you think you woke up so fast after the wolf barrier?” he replied.

“Thanks,” I smiled and gave him a quick kiss.

“Well can’t have my little earthling hurt now, can I? Plus, if this is what I get for healing you, you should get hurt more often,” he smiled.

“Shut up! Also, when did you get so cheezy?” I asked.

“Ever since I admitted loving you,” he answered.

“Good, I love cheezy lines,” I giggled.

“Aww, I forgot how cute new mates were. But I’d really like to get back to my own mate now so shall we?” Uncle Aaron asked and I jumped. I completely forgot he was here.

“Uhh…um…yeah, let’s go,” I mumbled.

“You know, you can be as cute as you want here, but on Earth, your father is going to keep you two like 50 miles apart. Better cherish this freedom while it lasts,” Uncle Aaron said.

“Oh my god, it’s been so long since I’ve met them! How are they? Wait, I just realized I haven’t even asked you about them yet. Shit! So, how are V and the twins? Are Mom and Dad okay? What did I miss these two years?” I started rambling.

“Slow down Cyra! Everyone’s fine. Celina and Cyrus have missed you terribly but they’ve kept themselves together. they never left hope of getting you back so they are still going. As for Vanessa, she was really angry at you but now she just misses her best friend. They are all going to be very happy to have you back,” Uncle Aaron replied.

I let out a breath of relief.

“So, are you ready princess?” Damon asked and I nodded.

“Yup, let’s go back!” I exclaimed.

He poured a drop of the potion and mumbled some spells. The ground started glowing and I had to shut my eyes. After they finally adjusted to the light, we were back in front of Hades’ castle.

“It feels so long since we’ve been here,” I gasped.

“Ahh, you are back! Welcome! Did you get the potion?” Hades came out.

“Hades,” Uncle Aaron whispered.

“Aaron,” Hades looked back at him.

Everyone stayed quiet for a few minutes and the atmosphere tensed.

“Sir, you need to come back, Persephone’s condition is getting worse,” A maid said from behind.

“What’s wrong with Persephone?” I asked.

“Damon, where is the potion?” Hades asked panicked.

“Here,” Damon gave it to him.

We all ran to Persephone’s room and saw her lying on the bed. She looked so pale, nothing like I remembered. I gasped.

“Here love, drink,” Hades said and made her drink a few drops of the potion.

As soon as the drops fell on her tongue, the potion disappeared. Persephone’s eyes then shut and she fell asleep.

“Is she going to be okay?” I asked again.

“Thanks to you all, she will be.” He replied.

“What’s wrong with her?” Damon asked.

Hades motioned us to move out of the room and we followed.

“Persephone had been poisoned with the only one that can kill a god.” Hades said.

“I thought gods were immortal,” I said in confusion.

“It’s very hard to kill a god, but not impossible. In fact, the gods don’t exactly die, they just wilt away. Like their body just stops working and the soul gets trapped there. Of course, the three powers, Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon, can never die. Only the three high gods had ingested the sacred immortality potion that gives you the power to live forever but after that, the potion was hidden in the darkest parts of hell. That’s what you made her drink though, isn’t it?” Uncle Aaron explained.

“It is,” Hades confirmed.

“When I found out that she was dying, I knew this was the only way to save her. I, however, couldn’t get it myself. That’s why I had to send you. You were my best bet.” Hades continued.

“Did you know that one of us would have to die to get it?” Damon asked and I could feel his anger radiate.

“Well, I wasn’t exactly sure, but I had an idea. The last barrier was kept a secret, even from us.” Hades said.

“And yet, you let both of us go,” Damon snapped.

“I had to save Persephone somehow!” Hades exclaimed.

“You know what, just send us back. You’ve saved her and now we all are free, so just let us go,” Damon said and Hades tensed.

“About that….” Hades started.
