Chapter 43
Chapter-43
Cyra
Is it that obvious
I listened attentively as Uncle Aaron told me the entire story.
“How did you know about the last two doors?” Damon asked.
“Some information that the royals on Earth have is not even in hell,” Uncle Aaron explained.
“You’re Hades 3rd son! And you are a pure-blooded god,” I gasped.
“You’re the son who was born a werewolf, aren’t you? The one Persephone had to let go because of the god prophesy?” Damon said.
“Yes, I guess,” Uncle Aaron said.
“What prophesy? Actually, never mind we don’t have time for that. First, let’s solve the problem at hand. So, your blood can open the last door, right?” I asked.
“It should. It’s worth a try,” Damon said.
“Okay, here goes nothing,” Uncle Aaron said and walked towards the statue.
I interlocked Damon’s finger in mine and held his hand tightly. I really hope this works. If it doesn’t, one of us would have to die, and I don’t want that. I mean, who does?
Uncle Aaron cut his palm with a knife and I saw his blood fall. It was like everything was in slow motion. I’m pretty sure my hold on Damon’s hand tightened and he gave me a reassuring squeeze.
Uncle Aaron’s blood finally dropped on the statue and….
Nothing happened. We waited for minutes but nothing happened.
C’mon! This is bad. That means…
“Shhh…it’s okay. We’ll figure something out,” Damon said, wiping off a tear that I didn’t know had fallen.
“Maybe I should just pour more blood,” Uncle Aaron said.
Just as he said that, the floor rearranged itself again and I gasped. In place of the statue was now a beautiful potion at the center.
Around it stood four soldiers.
“As annoyed as I am at the security for this potion; it’s been a while since I’ve shed some blood in wolf form. So, shall we?” I smiled.
“Well, that’s not concerning at all,” Damon muttered and Uncle Aaron gave me a smug smile.
I giggled and shifted into my wolf. Uncle Aaron did the same. The guards turned towards us and charged.
My wolf took over completely for the fight and I let her. She hadn’t had full control in a while and was happy to finally gain some. She easily dodged the first attack of the guard and growled at them. She then took off towards him and bit his leg, hard. He dropped to his knees but tried to use his knife to stab me. While my wolf dodged it, it still scraped her. From the burn, they had silver weapons. I had to be more careful. I told Uncle Aaron about the same through link.
I continued fighting the guard, who was more experienced and smart than I originally thought. It took me some time, but I managed to bite his neck and he fell on the ground. As soon as he did, his body turned to ashes and disappeared.
I turned towards the others. I saw Damon had been cornered by the two guards while Uncle Aaron was fighting the last one. Seeing her mate in danger, my wolf immediately pounced on one of the guards, taking him by surprise. She tore off a chunk of his flesh, immediately killing him. Just like the last one, he turned to ashes and disappeared too.
I saw Damon had killed the third one too because of the guard’s shifted attention when I took the other guard by surprise. Uncle Aaron too had managed to kill the last one.
Despite the fight being ended, my wolf did not give back control. She walked towards Damon and he bent down. She licked his face and he stroked her fur. She purred in satisfaction.
“I’m assuming that you both forgot to mention the fact that you both are mates,” Uncle Aaron raised a brow at us.
“I guess we did. Is it that obvious?” Damon asked.
“Considering how Cyra’s wolf just purred, yes. I’m pretty sure Cyra’s wolf has never purred before,” Uncle Aaron chuckled.
My wolf licked Damon’s face one more time before giving me back control and letting me shift.
“I’m sorry that she licked you! That must have been disgusting,” I said.
“It’s okay, I kind of liked it,” he smiled and I gave him an amused look.
“Cyra, are you bleeding?” Uncle Aaron said.
I looked down and saw a deep cut in my arm. Just like he said, it was bleeding.
