Shattered Illusions: Love Lies and Redemption ( Lizetta ) Chapter 347

Chapter 347

In the hospital, Lizetta spotted him walking with Stella and couldn’t muster the courage to step forward, opting Instead to test the

The outcome left her heartbroken.

In the darkness, Lizetta found the courge to believe in him once more, to ask him directly and clear the alr

However, Remington didn’t respond to her words. Instead, he simply pulled her into an embrace, his voice muffled or he said, “Let’s talk tomorrow, sleep now.”

Locking at his tightly shut eyes and indifferent demeanor, Lizetin felt the words stuck in her throat

Perhaps he was channeling his energy into another woman, becoming dismissive towards his wife upon returning home. Or maybe he was preemptively avoiding the question, knowing what she wanted to ask.

Which one was it with Remington, or was it both?

Lizetta used to love being in Remington’s embrace, but now, lying in his arms, listening to his steady heartbeat, and smelling his familiar scent, she felt like he was a dangerous poison she wanted to flee from.

She wriggled out of his embrace, tumed over, and faced away from Remington.

The man behind her also tumed to lie on his side, creating distance between them,

In the same bed, their backs to each other, their dreams diverged.

Although it was she who had distanced herself, Lizetta felt an indescribable ache, her eyes slowly moistening.

Lizetta struggled to fall asleep that night, and it was 1

the alarm that woke her up the next day.

Jerome had promised to introduce her to a dance troupe, so Lizetta had to get up early to prepare.

No sooner had her phone rung than she attempted to sit up, elbowing not the mattress but the solid abdomen of the man beside her

A muffled groan came from behind het freezing Lizetta in place.

“Liz, trying to murder your husband first thing in the morning?

Remington’s voice was hoarse, tickling her ear, making her neck shiver in avoidance.

She clearly remembered they had slept back to back, far apart, yet they were now clinging closely, his embrace tight around her

“Did I hit your wound?” Lizetta frowned.

Remington hurmmed lowly, not loosening his grip. His chin rubbed against the top of her head as he sleepily said, “Stay with me a bit longer

It was rare for him to linger in bed, but recent events, including a threat of divorce and his injury, coupled with a heavy workload, had taken their toll on his sleep

Last night, when he was holding her, her subtle fragrance was exceptionally calming.

Lizetta felt doomed to interpret his voice and actions as signs of attachment.

Biting her lip for clarity, she managed to extricate Remington’s arm and sat up, saying, “I have important things to do today, I need to get up. You should sleep.”

The warmth beside him vanished, and the comfort of the bed seemed less inviting without her,

Remington opened his eyes and sat up, catching her wrist.

“Leaving after giving me an injury?”

Lizetta, unable to leave the bed, turned to follow his gesture and saw spots of red on the bandage beneath his silk pajama top

Realizing she had actually hit his wound, she hurriedly said, “Stay put, I’ll get the medicine.”

Returning with the first aid kit, she found Remington had discarded his pajama top for dress pants, standing bare chested in the sunlight, his allure undeniably raw as he unwrapped the bandage around his walet.

Lizetta averted her gaze, quickly approaching to say, “You sit, fil help.”

Remington gladly accepted her care, sitting at the edge of the bed.

Lizetta bent down to remove the bandage from his waist, examining the wound closely.

“It’s a bit red and bleeding, but healing nicely. Some parts have already scabbed over. Don’t move; I’ll disinfect and apply new medication, it might sting”

As she spoke and applied the iodine, the sting caused Remington’s muscles to tense, his abs sharply defined in response.
