Chapter Chapter Twenty-six
That evening, Freya left her room and headed for the kitchen. Opening the refrigerator, her eyes met a tempting pitcher of berry juice, her favorite beverage. Unable to resist, she grabbed a glass and filled it, bringing it to her mouth to savor every sip of the delicious nectar. After savoring the refreshing juice, he decided to head back to his office.
Some time later, Freya, who was minding her own business, felt the door open suddenly, without warning. "Hello, Freya," said Eris, approaching the chair in front of Freya's desk with a smile on her face and taking a seat.
Freya, who had been concentrating on some papers, looked up at the sound of the voice. She squinted her eyes and replied expressionlessly.
"Eris, what are you doing here? You have no right to enter this herd."
"Let me inform you, Freya. Crono has allowed me back into this mansion. Remember what I told you, you were nobody here. When the alpha's true love returned, you would be relegated to the background. Today, I live in this mansion. I'm the cousin of Crono's true love. She replied confidently, Eris still smiling.
The two women stared at each other and Freya, looking downcast, spoke up.
"Stop talking nonsense. You'd better get out of here, or I'll get you out myself." Freya tried to stand up, but she felt dizzy, her mouth dry, as if she'd run out of saliva.
Eris, seeing her weak, rose from her seat, walked over to her and took her shoulder.
"Freya, you don't look well. Come, let's go. Come with me so you can see the lovers in action with your own eyes."
Freya gritted her teeth, drew strength where she had none and pushed Eris.
"Don't you touch me. Don't you ever lay a hand on me again. What do you mean, you haven't gotten to know me, Eris?"
"I was going to go with you to find the alpha and ask him to tell you to your face that I'm going to live here with his true love," Eris said, smiling as he turned away from her.
Freya clasped her hands together, trying to remain calm. She couldn't believe Eris's cynical words. A thought crossed her mind: "This is a trap set by those witches. You'd better pull yourself together.
"I'm not going to fall for your game. I'm sure it's a trap set by you and your cousin. Get the hell out of my office!" he growled firmly, inwardly trying to contain his indignation.
Eris headed for the door and, before leaving, said calmly.
"I'm going to enjoy myself when the alpha rejects you from this pack. If you want to know where Crono is, you can go and see him in his room."
Eris left with apparent calm, leaving Freya uncertain and worried about what might happen with the arrival of this she-wolf. Freya tried to remain calm, but tension still reigned in the office.
Freya clutched the papers in front of her angrily, feeling that the reality in front of her seemed to be repeating itself as it had in her past life. She tried to concentrate on her work, but agitation and weakness enveloped her. She decided not to pay any attention to Eris's provocations, preferring to speak directly to Crono.

He got up and headed for his room. As she passed Crono's door, she heard a noise that chilled her blood. A shiver ran through her body, and a spasm in her stomach made her tremble. Despite her resistance, curiosity drove her to cautiously open the door.
The scene before her stunned her. In the back of her mind, she murmured: "I've been there. Let him wallow in his love. But why does it hurt so much? I'd hoped he'd come to love me when he found out we weren't traitors. All that's left is to catch Claudia and clear my father's name. Now, Crono, you've got the proof you don't have to kill him, there's nothing to tie me to this pack".
Freya, heartbroken and with a mixture of conflicting emotions, closed the door slowly, letting reality wash over her.
Palas stood over Crono naked, when she felt the door open, she quickly turned away from Crono and, with a shy air, tried to justify herself. "Freya, you should be ashamed to find us making love like this. We were going to tell you we were back."
"Don't be a hypocrite, Palas. I know you planned this with your cousin. I've come to see you confused, but I've got news for you: it doesn't concern me. On the contrary, I have all the evidence I need to divorce you," Freya replied coldly, facing the situation with determination.
Crono's eyes were heavy as he saw Freya standing at the door. He couldn't understand what was happening, feeling dizzy and leaning against the back of the bed. He looked at Palas beside him, not understanding how he had gotten there. He tried to move, but his body wasn't reacting as it should. Freya's burning gaze was making him uncomfortable, and his heart was racing. Swallowing, he said in a thick voice.
"Freya, I don't know what Palas is doing here. We were having lunch, but..."
"They decided to have some fun. Crono, you don't need to give details," Freya interrupts, noticing the two plates of food and the bottle of wine with two glasses served in the room.
"We were going to tell you, Freya, that we've come back because I'm Crono's love," declared Pallas, defiantly.
Crono turned to Palas, his gaze turning to fury. He couldn't believe she'd say that. Helplessly, he shouted:
"Shut up, Palas, what are you talking about? You know very well that..."
"I'm your love, Crono. It's best she learns right away that we're back and she's no longer anyone in your heart. You already have the leadership you wanted, Crono. If you divorce her, we can go on loving each other," Palas said boldly, challenging Freya.
Freya felt Fenix growl inside her, wanting to free herself and pounce on Palas. However, she mustered all the strength she had to control herself and remain calm. Some papers in hand, she said:
"You do not humiliate me, Crono, in front of this woman and this pack. I, Freya Sith, reject you as my mate and husband." He took a few steps toward the bed, "Sign these papers and we are divorced."
Palas reached out and took the papers. He opened the file and picked up the pen inside.
Crono felt his heart freeze and intense pain seize his body. Typhoon began to roar and howl, expressing the deep pain of his companion's rejection. Crono, holding his hand to his heart, let out a cry that echoed through the room, reflecting the inner torment that consumed him. He could feel the bond between him and his mate breaking, leaving a trail of desolation in his life.
"You can't do this, Freya. You can't refuse me. We're all one, don't you remember?" cried Crono, desperation tinging his words. Freya, however, kept a coldness in her gaze, as if she were made of ice.
