REVENGE OF THE BETRAYED WOLF

Chapter Chapter thirty-seven

The Kelpies pounced on the warriors with ferocity, unleashing a chaotic battle. The clatter of their hooves echoed throughout the land, and people, gripped by fear, fled in terror. In the midst of the chaos, Crono arrived on the scene, sword drawn, ready to face the menace marching towards him.

Pyrrhus moved swiftly towards Cronus, his eyes shining with mischief as he raised his sword. Facing Cronus, they began a furious duel. Each blow of the sword resounded with brutality. But Pyrrhus realized that Cronus was stronger and more skilled with the sword. Cronus' movements were a deadly dance of power and skill that left Pyrrhus in an almost defeated position. But Pyrrhus proved more cunning and, with a mischievous smile on his lips, he spoke. "Prepare to die and I'll be ruler of all the wolf lands, along with your companion, my beloved Freya. Though your swordsmanship is better than mine, I have more wolves." He raised his hand, calling on his best men to transform into wolves and attack Crono.

"You're nothing but a traitor and a cheat. In our law, wolves cannot attack a single wolf in a group. You're a coward who doesn't know how to fight alone. Why do you need more wolves when you're losing?" shouted Crono, who let Typhon out and charged furiously at the wolves.

Typhon had already defeated two wolves and was suffering from the bites of three wolves attacking at the same time, fighting a merciless battle. Despite his suffering, he didn't give in to the pain. With fury, he bit the neck of one of the wolves, throwing it away from him. Rage burned in his eyes as he faced the second wolf.

However, the third wolf, with its merciless ferocity, bit him on the flank, causing him to let out a howl of discharge. Despite the pain and the blood emanating from his body, Typhon wouldn't give up. The scene became a tumult of grunts, howls and the clash of fangs and claws. Typhon weakly defeated the second wolf.

Pyrrhus, looking at the wounded Cronus, let out a sinister laugh and cruelly condemned.

"Your life ends now. You're just a weak dog who will soon be forgotten by your people and serve me as their only alpha king."

As the other five wolves advanced towards Crono, a towering figure emerged from the shadows, with a snarl that echoed with ferocity, grabbed one of the wolves and hurled it forcefully through the air, crashing to the ground in agony. Boox, with Metis on his shoulder, positioned himself in front of the other wolves.

Typhon, taking advantage of the chaos, killed the wolf who had wounded him, then passed control to Crono. His skin turned cold at the sight of Métis on Boox's back, and he panicked - his daughter was so weak, she needed to be safe in the refuge.

The four remaining wolves ran bravely towards Boox. The beast grabbed one with one hand and the others, clinging to his arm, began to swing wildly, stunning him and sending him flying through the air. He quickly clutched the other wolf, putting an end to its life.

Pyrrhus, witnessing Boox's display of power, waved his hand and other Kelpies surrounded the beast. Boox beckoned Métis off his back, and the girl quickly dismounted. Seeing her, Pyrrhus gave her a deceptive smile and spoke gently. "Little puppy, come and see your Uncle Pirro, I'll protect you."

"No! You're bad, you've hurt Mr. Crono. Courageously, she faced Pyrrhus, she wasn't fooled, from afar she had watched how this lord had assaulted her father to his disadvantage.

"Wolfie, this man has hurt your mother. Why do you think she ran away from here and is hiding? I came to save my niece's cubs before she got hurt by that pack," Pyrrhus said tenderly, extending his hand to Metis. "Don't you dare harm my daughter. I wouldn't mind dying for her," said a weakened Crono.

Métis was in the middle of the two, with Boox growling in front, preventing the wolves from approaching. Other Kelpies surrounded them, waiting for Pyrrhus' order to attack the beast. The young girl walked over to her father and stood in front of him.

"Are you all right, Mr. Crono? Boox will protect us from the evil lord."

"What are you doing here? You should be at the shelter with your little brothers. Get on Boox and run as far away from here as you can," he said with sadness and fear in his eyes.

"Sir, Grandma Damara cried for you. She said the evil lord had even bloodier wolves and she didn't know if you'd survive. And my brothers want to get to know you better, so Boox and I have come to help you."

A shiver ran through Crono's body at the sight of his daughter's bravery, but he was also saddened to hear her call him "sir" repeatedly. With a grimace, he commented.

"Your life is more valuable than mine. Listen to me, my princess, and go to your little brothers who need you. Take care of them." I reach out and touch her soft hair: "You're just like your mother."

"What a touching scene! Father and daughter want to die together. It was your decision, my child. I wanted to give you the chance to be with your mother, but I see you'd rather die with your useless father," Pirro interrupted cynically. Pyrrhus raised his hand again in attack, and the wolves pounced on Boox with unbridled fury.

Crono, with tears in his eyes, took his daughter's hand and said in a broken voice.

"Run, my child, run, run away from here. I beg you, run away from here, please."

The girl turned to Boox, fear seizing her body and she began to tremble as she saw many wolves attacking her friend. She swallowed saliva to give herself the strength not to cry. She looked regretfully at Crono and replied. "It's all right, I'll look after my grandmother and my little brothers".

Crono, straightening up with effort, picked up a sword and, with a false smile, said to his daughter.

"You're very brave, my child. I've always loved your mother, and if I'd known she existed, I'd have prevented her from leaving me despite all she's endured."

"Mr. Survive, you still have a lot of explaining to do to me." whispered Métis in a firm voice, her little eyes misty.

"As much as you like, Princess. I'll distract these wolves and run away with Boox," Crono added with a shuffle, preparing to transform, but stopped when he heard.

"Pyrrhus, don't you dare harm my daughter, because I'll have no mercy on you," Freya said with icy eyes.
