Chapter Chapter Six
"The orcs have once again attacked Drun's pack, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Although we managed to fend them off in this latest confrontation, the threat persists and draws closer to our herd every day." Worry echoed in Batían's voice on the other end of the line; it was clear that he had lost several of his brave men in the defense of another imperiled herd.
Crono's eyes tensed as he answered his Gamma's phone call. He listened in silence, aware of the gravity of the situation. The former alpha leader had lost his life to these creatures, and with no descendants left, Crono had become a prime candidate for leadership. Now he had to find out what had triggered the appearance of these creatures in the land of the wolves, more precisely in the highlands of northern Scotland.
"Tomorrow, I'll be in the lands of the Kelpies. I hope to be able to conclude an agreement with the supreme chief of these lands so that together we can eliminate these creatures. If it proves necessary to send reinforcements to the herd, Drunes, please contact Dionysos. He will take charge of operations in my absence until I return."
"From afar, we observe the orcs that have invaded Yinka's pride. We see that they have razed everything to the ground, leaving only burnt huts and desolation. It seems that on the lands they occupy, vegetation is dying, as if life itself were dying out." Bastian lets out a heavy sigh before continuing his tale: "We lost the wolves of Cronos, but we managed to stop the invasion of another pack. We don't yet know how long they'll remain at peace, or which pack will be attacked next."
Yinka's pack was the first to be attacked by the orcs and succumbed to their onslaught; they killed the alpha and the surviving wolves took refuge in the Sith pack.
"After the meeting with Pirro, we'll get together to make an urgent decision.
"Since these orcs appeared a year ago, they've left nothing but destruction. We have not yet been able to identify the person who commands them; he operates in the shadows."
"The meeting with Pyrrhus will be a turning point, marking the beginning of peace between the regions or the start of a war.
"Let me know, Cronos, what decision you will make." Cronos didn't answer; he simply cut off communication with his gamma.
Crono made an appointment with Pyrrhus to discuss a peace treaty. However, a dilemma arose in his mind: despite the anger that consumed him at the thought of having to venture into the dangerous lands of the Kelpies, he understood that his pack desperately needed support in the face of the constant threat from the Orcs. He prepared himself mentally to face Pyrrhus, seeking to reconcile with him and unravel the mystery of the Orcs' presence.
The uncertainty of the future weighed heavily on him, and he was aware that the decision he took at this meeting could determine the fate not only of his lands, but also that of his herd. Crono, in his distrust of Pyrrhus, knew that the latter had used cunning to take command of the lowlands, closing the borders and sowing complicated leadership over his lands.
"You must be careful before entering these lands. After insisting so much on meeting him, he opened the border for you to enter like that. He's suspicious. You know that after destroying the leader of the Kelpies, Pyrrhus took advantage of your weakness by leaving these lands unprotected and took them over so that we are outnumbered by wolves. Most of his men are renegade wolves with no mercy to kill." declared Dionysius as he sat down on the other side of the desk. "Back then, my aim wasn't to conquer territory, but to seek justice and avenge Lea's death. Today, the situation demands that I seek alliances to preserve our race. We need the support of your wolves to put an end to the orc threat. If I were certain I could face these creatures, I wouldn't venture into these lands."
"I'd simply advise you to be careful, especially when there's no trust in Pirro.
"I trust neither him nor his brother Agamemnon. I'm sure Agamemnon had something to do with the Kelpies' attack on my herd that night."
"Brother, I think you're wrong about Agamemnon. I don't think he had anything to do with it."
"I have evidence in the form of notes bearing the seal of Sith Pride, providing instructions on how to access these lands undetected.

"There's something strange: if Agamemnon were the traitor, he wouldn't have given you his support in ruling these lands. He would have proclaimed himself and commanded these lands with his brother."
"These notes don't lie. What's more, I'm sure your daughter's infatuation with me is the trigger for everything."
"You should investigate these notes further; don't you think there's something else behind this attack?"
Crono stood up abruptly and expressed his frustration palpably.
"First we'll destroy the Orcs, then the real culprit behind my beloved Lea's death."
Freya was in her office, a space she'd set up to assume the responsibilities inherent in her position as Luna. In this life, she was determined not to let them walk all over her, not to let them have their way with the resources destined for the manor and the pack.
As he consulted some documents, he noted with a laugh that sums of money were regularly deposited in Eris's account. He grumbled wryly:
"For a mere mistress, this she-wolf is very well paid, and she still has the nerve to steal money intended for the pack."

Freya, determined to regain control of what was rightfully hers, picked up the phone and called the treasury. With seriousness in her voice, she says.
"Mr. Lemon, I'm Freya Apka," she says, rolling her eyes at the mention of her surname, "I called to inform you that from today, I'll be the one receiving the money for manor expenses and pack social work."
The response wasn't long in coming.
"It's a pleasure to converse with you, my Luna. Very well, if alpha Crono has no objections, I'll make the requested changes."
"I am the moon of this herd and mistress of this manor. You will question my orders."
The gravity of the situation was not lost on the man on the other end of the phone, who swallowed hard. He knew Eris would protest, but he also understood that he had to obey Luna of the pack, or the alpha would make changes. "As you requested, madam. The requested changes are being made now. How can I help you?"
"For now, that's all. Freya, satisfied with the answer, hung up the call, while echoing in her mind, "Now, I await your next move, Eris." She narrowed her eyes and continued to scan the statements.
