Chapter Chapter seven
Crono was immersed in documents when, suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted his concentration. He looked up with interest and, with a calm gesture, indicated. "Come in."
Eris entered with an upset face: her cheek swollen, her eyes bloodshot and tears streaming down her face. In a cracked voice, she began to speak.
"My alpha, after lunch, the moon attacked me, insulted and humiliated me in front of the servants. This woman is not as you described her to me. Now, in front of the others, I'm just her mistress, she made it clear to me in the dining room, in front of everyone, that she was giving me permission to heat her bed, because she won't be your companion, nor will she reciprocate as your wife."
Crono frowned, irritated by the situation. Clearly, he had to settle this matter with his companion. Straightforwardly, he addressed Eris.
"Stop crying, it doesn't matter. I'm a married man now, and you need to keep your distance." He ran a hand over his head, as if trying to ease the growing tension. It's clearly not in his interest to let the rumor of his marriage spread. With a deep sigh, he added: "I know that Lea loved and appreciated you. That's why I've allowed you to stay here, but I think it's time for you to leave the manor. I'll continue to help you financially."
Eris, surprised by the answer, widened her eyes in disbelief. She hadn't expected this decision; she'd only wanted Crono to act against his wife, not exclude her.
"Crono, my cousin didn't want you to cut me out of your life like that. She and I were like sisters, and you became my family. Don't tell me you've already forgotten Lea and fallen so quickly in love with that she-wolf," he said with sadness in his voice.
Crono, visibly annoyed, hits the table and exclaims.
"Leave Lea out of this. As for how I feel about my wife, that's none of your business."
Eris couldn't get her head around the fact that Crono, who had chased Freya when she left the manor alone, was now chasing her. It was even more disconcerting for her that Freya had managed to do what she hadn't been able to do since her arrival at the manor. A mixture of surprise and frustration passed over Eris's face as she lowered her head, trying to hide her growing anger.
"Okay, I'll see where I can go. Give me a few days to organize my things and leave. I'll leave with your permission." She turned and stormed off, muttering under her breath, "Damn it, you'll pay for this."
Crono, certain he had to put an end to his wife's indiscipline, decided to tackle the problem head-on. With a determined step, he headed for Freya's bedroom. At the door, he knocked three times.
Freya, lying on her bed, sensed her companion's presence. A scent of citrus and wood filled her senses, awakening memories of past encounters. Uneasy, she decided to ignore him.
"I know you're in there, you little beast. Open the door or I'll break it down, it's up to you," Crono warned in a thick voice.
"You and I have nothing to say to each other. If it's urgent, I'll come to your office tomorrow morning. I'm not available right now," Freya replied coldly.
Crono opted for silence and withdrew. He returned to his office, opened a shelf and took out the room keys. He took Freya's, closed the shelf and returned to his wife's door. Determined, he inserted the key, removed the lock and pushed open the door.
Freya jumped to her feet as Crono entered. The door closed behind him with a thud, and his eyes twinkled with mischief. Freya, annoyed, wondered what her husband's intentions were. In an icy tone, she asked. "What are you doing in my room?"
"I came to teach you how to behave. You can't keep exposing my honor in front of my people. If you don't change, you'll suffer the consequences. In this pack, you can't act as you please. Today, you behaved as if you were superior to me in front of my man. Don't forget that I am the leader of this country and that my wife cannot be the subject of gossip among our people."
"I thought your mistress's complaints had brought you here," Freya replied haughtily.
"Hell, she's not my lover and behaves like my moon."
"Don't yell at me, I'm not one of your bitches. You're the one who's been feeding the rumors. At our wedding reunion, you didn't miss a chance to hang out with Eris. What's more, she's got the nerve to treat me disrespectfully. So, tell me, who has the nerve not to behave like a married man? I haven't received any respect from you or your people," cried Freya, clenching her fists.
Crono, faced with his wife's rebellion, sensed that this problem would be more complicated than he thought. Calmly, he replied.
"Eris approached me to congratulate me on my appointment, I'm the alpha and I couldn't be rude to her, who was my guest and showed loyalty to my pack. You need to behave yourself and not go around challenging me every time you feel like it, not to mention creating conflicts with people." Freya lets out a provocative laugh.
"It's true that my husband likes his wolf cubs tender and obedient to his commands! Well, you've got me all wrong. I don't take orders from anyone, least of all you. I told you I wouldn't be your wife. I give you permission to have fun in Eris's bed or any other she-wolf's, I don't care," he said with a triumphant smile. However, that smile faded as she saw Crono approach and grab her by the hands, pulling her towards the wall.
"Don't forget you're my companion, my wife. If I want to, I can claim you now," Crono growled, furious at the intensity of his companion's blazing blue eyes. He squeezed her harder, feeling her try to break free.
"Don't you dare let go of me. Don't you dare touch me, you bastard. If you do anything to me, I swear I'll kill you," Freya screamed as she struggled. She raised her right leg and struck him in the crotch with all her might. Crono, who was lost in those blazing eyes, reacted by feeling a sharp pain in his manhood, released her with a jerk and leaned against the wall to recover. After a few seconds, Crono stared at her, thinking: "She's a beast, but I can't deny that she's really beautiful, even when she's agitated and haughty. I'll have to do my best to master this demon.
"If you dare force me to become your wife, I assure you I'll leave you manless," Freya rants, standing at the other end of the bed.
"You little beast, very soon I'll be taking care of you and you'll be in my bed calling out to me between moans. I don't want you to get into trouble," he said, thinking this challenge would be harder than he'd imagined. "Don't touch me or you'll find out who Freya Sith is."
"No threats. You'd better behave like my Luna," he said, turning and leaving the room.
Freya stayed in the room sniffling and shouting:
"Tomorrow I'll change the lock on the door; you won't come into this room again whenever you feel like it," she said angrily.
