Chapter Chapter Eleven
Freya has been convalescing for a week; fortunately, her injuries are not serious. During this period, she spent her time studying documents concerning the pack's social work. Her peace of mind was interrupted when she was informed that her father was at the manor.
Agamemnon received the news of what had happened to his daughter. Without wasting any time, he headed for the imposing manor to confront Crono, who was by now away from the herd, in a meeting with his gamma. Freya rushed out of the bedroom and down the stairs. Arriving in the living room, she found her father and threw herself lovingly into his arms.
"Dad, what are you doing here? I'm glad to see you," Freya said, breaking the silence.
"Darling, I've been informed of the incident with the she-wolf your husband was keeping here. I've come to settle accounts with him," replies Agamemnon, taking his daughter in his arms.
The bond between father and daughter intensified in this embrace of protection and understanding. Freya detached herself from Agamemnon and led him into her study, closing the door behind her. In a calm voice, she answered him. "Dad, I'm fine. You know I can take care of myself, and that woman was no match for me."
Agamemnon's face changed, releasing the rage that had consumed him at the news of what had happened.
"Freya, don't scare me like that. When they told me you'd fallen down the stairs, my soul left my body. All I could think about was facing your brash husband."
"Dad, I'm fine. I told you not to worry about me. I just wanted that wolf to leave the pack, that's all."
"Daughter, if this man doesn't give you the place you deserve as a moon, reject him and file for divorce. You have a pack that loves you and misses you. This marriage was an arrangement, and I deeply regret having accepted the deal. But we now have proof that you are in danger in this pack and that will help us dissolve your marriage." He advised awareness of the dangers threatening his daughter alongside the alpha.
Freya didn't want to leave the pack until she had proved that neither she nor her father were traitors. She planned to ask Crono for a divorce, but would wait until Pallas arrived to leave Crono in ruins and leave with her head held high. "Dad, I'll be fine here, I assure you. If anything happens to me, you'll be the first to know. Besides, I have a mission in this pack."
"My daughter, I'll look after you. You're the most important thing in my life and I'll always be by your side in whatever decisions you make," he said, looking at her tenderly.
"Dad, you should join me for breakfast and tell me the highlights of the pack in my absence.
Father and daughter leave the office between laughter and anecdotes. After spending some time together, Freya bid her father a wistful farewell.
In the afternoon, Crono returns angry after seeing the havoc wreaked by the Oscos. Entering the manor, one of his guards tells him that Agamemnon is looking for him in the morning for a chat. Crono, jaw set, headed for his office with Dionysius. He assumed his wife would be in his room, since she hadn't been out since the incident and he hadn't seen her since.
"What I missed was that the traitor came to the manor because of Eris. I don't understand why that she-wolf attacked Freya. If it was her duty to restrain her, to keep her quiet, locked in her room, while she got the evidence she needed to capture her father's traitor and make him suffer. Now it's my turn to face Agamemnon, and I hope his unhinged daughter hasn't overreacted."
Freya was just leaving her office when she sensed her husband's arrival. Not wishing to meet him or witness his mood, she chose to hide. As she listened to his words in the half-light, she blinked several times in bewilderment. A feeling of helplessness grew inside her. She'd never imagined that Crono would say such derogatory things about her and her father. Despite her efforts to control her anger, fury overcame her and she stormed out to confront him. Her eyes ablaze, she raised her hand to Crono's face.
Crono froze when he saw her standing there, angry. He swallowed as he realized how reckless he'd been to make that comment before arriving at her office, never imagining she'd hear him. He felt Freya's hand explode in his face, and although the blow seemed easy, it resounded loudly. He brought his hand up to his face to rub it, watching her with a serious expression. In a husky, manly voice, he bellowed.
"You're insane! Don't you ever lay a hand on me again in your life or I'll..."
"Or what, you'll have me beaten by one of your other mistresses? Since the master can't do it, he needs help controlling his mate. If your intention was to humiliate me and teach me a lesson, you've failed." Freya was furious, while Crono stared at her in silence, inwardly reproaching himself for his unfortunate comment.

Dionysus observed the situation with amusement. While he recognized that Freya was right, he was surprised by her audacity in confronting Crono in this way. He glanced around and noticed that some employees had come out to hear the altercation. He was aware that his Luna's behavior would become the talk of the town. He hoped that with his alpha's fierce Luna, he'd have an easy time of it. He approached Crono and whispered. "Get her out of here. The staff and warriors are starting to become aware of the beast we have as Luna."
Crono looked around and gave everyone a glare that sent them fleeing. He grabbed Freya by the shoulders and pulled her into his office, feeling it was time to clear up a lot of things with her.
"Let go of me, you crawling wolf. Don't touch me with your dirty hands," she howled as she struggled with Crono.
Crono entered the office and threw her roughly onto the sofa. Then he rushed to the door, which he locked behind him. He turned and squinted, staring at her.
"How dare you grab me like that, you've mistreated me!" she said, rubbing her shoulders with her hands, "I'm not one of your warriors you can wield at will. Don't forget that I'm just a she-wolf with less strength than you," she shouted angrily. "You mean you consider yourself a weak wolf?" He laughed at the remark, finding it amusing, "Not at all, on the contrary, you're a haughty beast who never ceases to annoy me."
Freya rose from the sofa, picked up a rustic wooden paperweight and hurled it at Crono, who had time to dodge it, sending it crashing against the door. Tension reigned in the room and the confrontation between the two was palpable.
