Chapter Chapter Ten
Freya awoke to a pleasant sensation enveloping her, surprised by a fresh scent that filled her senses. When she opened her eyes, she was surprised by the imposing, vigorous figure of Crono, lying beside her. Leaning down, she began to gently pat his shoulder with her finger.
"Wake up, cheeky wolf. This isn't your room," Freya muttered with a frown, expressing her displeasure.
Crono fidgeted wearily; he hadn't slept in two days and his exhaustion was obvious. Even with his eyes closed, he replied sleepily.
"Let me rest. For once in your life, you could behave like my Moon and let me sleep."
"No! You get out of my room or I'll harass you until you leave," she wasn't about to give in.
Crono raised his head wearily, feeling the bad mood creeping over him. He was about to reply when he heard the sound of the door opening. He turned towards the entrance and looked at the newcomer. A sigh escaped his lips and, resigned, he let his face fall back onto the pillow. He said to himself: "The one who was missing, trouble and more trouble. My situation was becoming even more complicated.
Freya was inwardly furious and surprised to find herself in this surprising situation, with Crono in her bed and her mother-in-law standing in the bedroom doorway. She didn't understand what was happening. In her previous life, she barely remembered her husband coming into her room twice a year, and each time to use and abuse her; her mother-in-law, he didn't even treat her. She blinked several times, unable to grasp the strangeness of the moment.
"Sorry for the abrupt entrance. I thought Freya was alone and wanted to stop by to see her. My apologies for the intrusion," he said, glancing fiercely at his son, "Crono, get up. Crono, get up. I'm waiting for you in your office. We need to talk about what happened yesterday at the mansion." With a smirk, he looked at his daughter-in-law and left the room.
"You've seen what you've caused. Your mother has the wrong idea about us. Besides, I don't understand why you're in my bed." She waved her hand away again, "Get up and get out of my room before I kill you."
"Woman, calm down. I've been informed of what's happened, I came to see you and fell asleep." She reluctantly stands up.
"I don't want you coming into my room, especially not when I'm asleep," she growls, crossing her arms.
Crono's eyes sparkled as he looked at her. He couldn't understand why he was always so defensive.
"You're afraid to be alone with me. Don't forget that you're my companion and I can take you if I wish," he commented as he made his way out of the room.

"In your dreams, you touch me, you animal," she said, frowning, confused. This man hadn't even looked at her before.
Crono smiled as he listened. He realized it wouldn't be easy to control her, but he enjoyed annoying her. He went downstairs, scratching his head. He knew something was wrong, and that it had to do with Eris; he had to find a solution. He'd already spoken to her, told her that all she had to do was keep Freya in line, but hitting her was out of the question. If her mother hadn't arrived in time, who knows what would have happened. Now she was in a complicated situation with her boss, and Agamemnon knew all about it.
As he reached the door of his office, he heaved a heavy sigh. He turned the handle and entered, discovering his mother sitting on the sofa, looking at him with squinted eyes and a serious air.
"Good morning, Mother," he greeted in a husky, soft voice.
"Good morning, my son. Sit down, I've come to see Freya and have a chat with you."
"I heard about Eris's attack on my Luna. I'd already told Eris she had to leave the mansion. I didn't expect this reaction from her," he couldn't understand why she'd acted this way. He'd never had a problem with Eris before.
"Moon Freya was brutally beaten by Eris. I witnessed it myself. The poor girl didn't know how to defend herself. Despite this, she pushed her down the stairs. Fortunately, Freya held on to the banister as tightly as she could. Poor thing, she lost her balance and fell. Who knows if that fall might have killed her? Eris must be punished.
Crono scratched his head again, puzzled. He had seen Freya face a wolf and knew she was capable of defending herself. This wolf had barely managed to defeat her, so he understood that Eris was not a difficult opponent for Freya. In her mind, she couldn't understand why Freya hadn't fought back; if her aim had been to get Eris out of the manor, she'd succeeded brilliantly. However, she couldn't forgive Eris for losing her temper and attacking her companion. She now understood that Freya was determined to set fire to her life and confront anyone who opposed her.
"Mother, let me handle this. Eris will be expelled from this flock and returned to her family's."
"I've never understood why you gave that wolf so much freedom in this pack. I took Lea because you said you loved her and I didn't want to interfere in your life. Then the tragedy of her death happened, and you brought her cousin to live here. I didn't agree with what you did, but I respected your decision. Now that your mate has appeared, thanks to our goddess Selene who placed her in your path, I will not allow you to place another wolf above her." He vociferated calmly, expressing his displeasure. Eris had never liked him, this way of running the manor as if she were mistress of the house was unacceptable to him, but for his son's sake, he was trying not to impose. However, with what she'd seen, she wasn't about to let this she-wolf crush her son's companion. She was reassured that she would no longer be part of the pack and cause trouble.
"Mom! You'd better join me for breakfast." Crono didn't want to argue anymore. After obtaining the necessary evidence against Agamemnon, he and his companion would be held to account and everyone would know who they were. Damara stood up and nodded. The prospect of Freya winning her son's black heart excited her. Since Leah's death, Crono had been plunged into bitterness and war, and she hoped this young woman would be worthy of being Crono's companion, and would soon give him grandchildren. There was a spark of hope in her eyes when she saw them in bed together. She stood up and headed for the exit, closely followed by her beloved son.
