Rapunzel's POV
I smiled widely at the thought of my other half. Mine and mine alone. Chuckling softly I was interrupted by my mother gasping loudly. Turning to look at her, she and dad were both staring at my hair. She with obvious shocked and my dad with recognition and awe. "What is it mom?" I asked as I turned around properly to face them. "I haven't seen your hair do that in- since you were a toddler." She mumbled out coming to stand in front of me. She raised her hand to pet my hair as Amima and I leaned into the warmth of our mother's loving touch. "Is there something you should tell me mom?" I asked remembering what Amima said regarding my soulmate. Mom nodded softly before looking back at dad. "I think it's time we tell you. One day we were in the forest out for a run, you see Jax had just shifted into his counter part. He had just turned sixteen and it was our way of celebrating his rite of passage if you will. We had reached the edge of the swamp where we had stopped to rest for a bit. When we heard the wailing of a small child, my instincts kicked into overdrive and I ran to the swamp's edge where I thought I heard the noise, the wailing continued but I couldn't pin point the source of it. Jonathan came over with a black bundle in his arms, staring down at it. I walked over to him and gasped when I saw it was a baby. I asked him where he found it and he replied saying in the hallow of a tree's trunk. You had stopped crying only occasional whimpers sounding from you. But Jax came over and asked a question that had us shocked at first. Why's it wrapped in hair and why's it moving? That had our eyes snapping to crawling motion of its hair as it unwraps from the baby's body and wrapping around Jonathan's arms that held it. In shock we all stared at the little boy in Jonathan's arm and quickly fell inlove. We brought him back with us to the family house where we told the elders we were keeping him, keeping you. At first they were extremely against keeping you because we had no idea what you were and we still don't." Mom finished chuckling softly while caressing my cheek. "Well that's a long way to tell me I'm adopted." They laughed a bit as I smile at my family, so what if I'm adopted at least I fit right in. "When we took you, a tragedy took our pack kinda like a plague." Dad said. I turned my questioning gaze to him and he continued. "At first we thought it was an virus but viruses at not strong enough or potent enough to kill what we are. It had started off small like if you cried and the person touching you had bad intentions if hurting you or us they would bleed to death by the night's end. This caused the rest to fear us and with fear came anger and irrationality. They had threatened to kill us if we didn't move immediately. Which leads us to here." Dad finished and I felt a pang of anger towards those people. I walked over to him and hugged his waist as Amima wrapped herself around him snuggling him in our warmth. "Hey Amima." Dad whispered and my head shot up to look at him. He chuckled before kissing my forehead softly. "We had to try and tame this stubborn boy when you were younger." They all laughed. Jax had woken up at this point and gave his input. "I remembered when we just moved to this pack and mom and dad left to go speak with Alpha Dimitri's father. They had left me with you for the first time and I had no idea what to do. No one had to fret over you since you were attached to the hip with dad and only fussed if you were hungry. I watched you in your crib as you slept and an idea popped up in my head, I ran to grab the softest brush I could find and started to brush your hair. You woke up and stared at me for the longest time as I brush your hair not saying anything. But as soon as I do, your chin quivered and you started to scream, your hair flew up from around you, grabbing anything it could catch and threw them at me. Frightened and scared I called mom and dad who hurried back home. I remembered mom went to take you up but screamed so loud our hypersensitive ears rung loudly. The stress was evident on our faces as you would not calm down. Dad then took you from mom and you stopped crying immediately, the abrupt stopping of the crying frightened us for bit. When we looked at dad he was staring down at you smiling. Your hair wrapped around his finger as you looked up at him. Ever since that day we knew you were a daddy's boy." We chuckled at this as I hugged dad tighter. He returned the favour before I stepped out his embrace. "The walk down memory lane was nice and all but I know you guys. You tend to tell me stories when you wanna avoid something. Now tell me what exactly are you and how did dad know Amima?" Dad sighed as he looked at me. "I had been holding you the day of your first birthday. We didn't know the exact day you were born but when I got up the morning of September 26th, I just knew it was your birthday. I had been singing happy birthday to you softly as you clapped and laughed loudly. When your hair spelt out the words Amima with your toys at first I was confused until I said the name out loud. Your hair defied gravity and stayed there floating around you as you smiled." I laughed and shook my head "there you go again, avoiding the question." Mom chuckled softly but became serious in a matter of seconds. "We're werewolves sweetie." I gaped at them before sighing. "So you're telling me the driver back then wasn't nuts and that what I saw was actually real." I stated. They nodded and I shook my head. "Then do any of you know the white wolf that saved us that night?" I asked. "What do you mean?" Dad questioned. "When I had called you to pick me up after hanging up two raggedy looking wolves with red eyes came knocking at the window, literally might I add when a white wolf came in and saved us but he disappeared as soon as you showed up dad." As I wait for a reply I lifted my head to see them looking at my soulmate. I looked at him as well as he stood proud. I chuckled softly as I put two and two together. "You were my night in shinning fur coat." I stated. He laughed at this as I closed the distance between us. "I am your knight in shining fur coat." He replied holding gently onto my waist. I laid my head on his chest as my arms wrapped around him. I think I'm gonna love this small town.
