Chapter 73 - Names
“I’m going to call the orthopedist and get your arm set and his wrist set. I will be right back. Are you going to nurse your pups? If not I can give you some pain killers. I couldn’t give them to at the pups birth because it would mess with their systems. I promise not to knock you out.” I nodded my head, telling him without words that I wanted the drugs..
The doctor left and we walked over to check on our babies. We checked them out as much as we could one handed. They seemed fine and were looking everywhere. One of our girls turned her head and looked at me, smiling and blowing bubbles with her spit. It was cute. Our other girl wouldn’t take her eyes off her daddy. I knew she would be a daddy’s girl along with our boy.
A different nurse walked in and gave both of us a shot of pain killers, making sure we weren’t allergic to the medicine. When the nurse left Matheus and I sighed. We looked at each other, taking the few steps to meet and kiss. I was so relieved our babies were safe and we didn’t die in the process. As we went to kiss again our daddy’s babies started crying. We separated and the two babies quit crying. I shook my head at them.
“Daddy, you have two children to look after and I have one girl,” I informed him, laughing at his face. If he thought I was going to take care of them by myself he was sadly mistaken.
“Not a problem, Mommy,” Matheus voiced, picking on me.
“What do you want to name the babies. I have one girls name I would love to use. It was my mother’s name. Do you have a problem with the name Calleti?” I asked, hoping he would agree with my name choice. I wanted to name one of my babies to honor my mother.
“I love the name. So, now we have two more named to assign. I would like to name the other girl Sophia after my grandmother, sound good?”
I nodded my head and smiled. “I love the name.”
“Okay, now our boy,” Matheus thought out loud.
We threw out names, going back and forth. We couldn’t figure out a name for him.
Madrid walked in and came over to see the babies. “Well, don’t you look like a Cruz?”
Matheus and I looked at each other, nodding our head on the name. It was a good strong name.
“General, you just named our son,” Matheus informed Madrid.
Madrid turned around. “What are the girls names,” He asked as turned back towards the babies, making funny faces and blowing raspberries on their stomach.
I laughed at Madrid. The big bad General was a big softy. I took the few steps over to him and pointed at the mommy’s girl. “Her name is Calleti.” I pointed to the other girl. “This daddy’s girl is named Sophia.” I smiled big at him. “And, you know our daddy’s boy Cruz.”
“I like it. The names suit your babies.” Madrid nodded his head and turned to play with the babies.
I walked over to the bed, patting a place close to me for Matheus to lay down. He shook his head and stayed close to the babies. A new doctor walked in, knocking on the door when he was almost through it. Idiot doctors. I wasn’t happy with this medical facility.
The doctor walked straight to me and grabbed my arm to look at it, causing me to hiss out in pain. “What the hell are you doing? It’s already broke. You know, the bone protruding is the first clue.”
“Sorry, I need to make sure it’s the only bone broken. I’m going to set you for surgery. You won’t be able to shift for a few months or your arm will never work right again. Is this okay with you?”
“Yeah, it’s okay as long as Matheus and I don’t go at the same time. We’re not leaving our babies with anyone other than the three of us or the men who were with the General before, understand?” I basically ordered, giving a look of don’t fuck with me.
The doctor nodded his head and walked over to Matheus. He grabbed his wrist and pulled on it, setting the wrist and causing a loud pop to sound. “What the fuck was that, man? You could have fucking warned me,” Matheus seethed.
“Sounds as if I’m not the only one with a potty mouth,” I commented, getting a glare from Matheus.
“If I would have given a warning it would have been a lot more painful,” the doctor answered, turning Matheus’s wrist around, checking the alignment. “I’m going to get you, miss, signed up for surgery as soon as possible. Please don’t go anywhere.”
“Like I could. The rent-a-cops are standing at the door,” I informed the doctor, chuckling a little. The doctor nodded and walked out to, presumably, get my surgery set up.
Damn! I thought I would get to rest a little. But, no, the real cops had to show up. There were three of them trying to look intimidating. Yeah, wasn’t going to work with any of us.
“Ma’am, can you tell me what happened?” An officer asked.
“Don’t answer, Selina, JAG will taking this one. If you have any questions you can ask me. I can tell you the backstory on everything but I won’t let you take a new mother with a broken arm, her husband or the babies down to the station with you,” Madrid commanded, puffing up his chest.
“She has to answer!" The officer screeched, waking up my babies.
I turned to the officers, raising one eyebrow. I pointed to my babies, putting a finger up to my lips. I had to keep my mouth shut or I would kill this fool. He gave me a disgusted look. Now, my hackles were raised. I was about to open my mouth to put him in his place but...
