Chapter 71 - Pain

I started panting even more than before. “Uh, you might want to go get the doctor or I’m going to have this child on my own or you can help-” I tried to say.

Matheus ran out of the room as if his ass was on fire. I guess he didn’t want to deliver this baby. Good. Where was the damn doctor? Seriously? I guess I will deliver this child on my own. I started pushing, not that I had much choice. I couldn’t quit. Matheus and the doctor came running in. The doctor was trying to get me to stop pushing.

Wasn’t going to happen.

“Time to have this baby, Selina,” the doctor told me.

I looked at him incredulously. “No shit! I thought I had a bowling ball dropping out of the shoot.”

The doctor ignored me only telling me one more push should do it. I pushed once more and our baby was born. The doctor handed the baby off to the nurse. “Uh, doc, I think there’s another one in there.”

I watched as Matheus passed out on the floor. Great, I guess I will this was the Selina way, all by myself. “How come he can take a nap and I can’t”

“Because, my dear, you have another baby waiting to be delivered.” I rolled my eyes at him, once again.

I pushed for another fifteen minutes when the other baby was born. The doctor handed my second baby to another nurse. I watched as they cleaned up the my second child. “Well, shit! You’re not going to believe this, Doc, there’s another one. Please, please let this be the last one.”

Matheus woke up from his little nap. I figured I should tell him about the third one before he stood up. He passed out again. “I’m surprised I didn’t get pregnant by myself.”

The doctor, nurses and the men outside the door started laughing. Me, I didn’t think it was too funny. Maybe it will be a lot funnier when I finished having babies. “Fuck!” I yelled out in pain. The nurses flinched.

Maybe I did scare them a little earlier. Right now I couldn’t give a good damn. I grabbed the side rails and bent them even more. It wasn’t as if I planned on it but I didn’t have Matheus’s hand to break and I didn’t think the nurses would hold my hand. “Someone tell me about my two children.”

I nurse told me, “Baby A was a girl and Baby B was a boy.” I nodded at her, telling her thanks without having to talk.

It wasn’t much longer until I had to push again. This time my third baby was born in ten minutes. Hey, it was better than fifteen minutes. I heard Matheus push off the floor, rubbing his head where he hit it. “How many so far?”

“So far? Are you delusional. This is the last one or you can have it,” I explained to him. Yeah, didn’t think about what I thought before opening my mouth and vomiting out the first thing to come to mind. “Never mind. I don’t think you make it through the pain.”

“I know I wouldn’t,” Matheus agreed, kissing my sweaty forehead.

“Doc, why do I feel as if I need to push again?” I asked him, about to pass out myself.

“Oh, it’s only the afterbirth.”

“No one told me I would feel the same pain as I did with the other three,” I muttered, glaring at the doctor. I was pissed no one told me these things but then again I didn’t ask or read the books the guys got for me. I didn’t want to scare myself by reading them. I should have done a little more research.

“Push once more and then you’re done, promise,” the doctor instructed me.

I nodded and pushed once more until I didn’t feel any more pressure. I sighed and laid back all the way in the bed, thankful the birth was over. Wait, I didn’t ask what baby C was? “Can anyone tell me what baby C was?”

“Another girl, ma’am.”

I nodded at her as she came over to the bed and handed me two squirmy bodies and handed Matheus one squirmy body. How was this fair? I looked at my two girls in my arms and watched their eyes open as they looked at me. I smiled at them, rocking them a little. I looked over at Matheus holding our son. He was whispering to him and touching his cheek. Our son was following Matheus’s hand around with his mouth as I laughed at both of them. Our son gave me a disgusted look as he started crying loudly.

The nurses came back over and took the babies with her and another nurse. “I need to take them to the nursery for a little bit. They need to be checked over. I’ll be back as quick as I can.”

“Matheus, go with them. I want them to be watched at all times. Please?” I kissed Matheus cheek and he followed the nurses out, stopping to let the men see them.”

The men knocked and whistled on my door. “Come on in, guys,” I called out. I couldn’t wait to see what they were going to say about the babies and my yelling at everyone.

The men walked in and started teasing me about scaring the nurses. They teased me about breaking Matheus’s fingers. Then they asked me what the babies names were. Names? Shit! I didn’t even think about names. I had a name I wanted to use for one of the girls but I wasn’t sure what to name our boy. Hopefully Matheus knew some names. I let the guys know we were still thinking of names.

The men didn’t stay long. They were going to the nursery and then they had to leave. I was glad they stayed to see the babies. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to go back to the room Matheus had. I was hoping we could go to his actual house. I was ready to get out of the room. Matheus had been buying baby stuff for his workshop, house here and the one in Brazil. It looked as if we were ready wherever we went. I laid back and slept until I heard my babies screaming as if they were in mortal danger.
