Chapter 108
Chapter 108 Be My Mistress
Inside the haunted house, Emily entered a new room, still eerie and terrifying.
Through a narrow passage, Emily entered a second chamber, themed with a vampire motif. The walls and air were filled with dim green light, and thorns lined the path. Her dress was torn by the thorns, and her legs had several scratches. Although she couldn't see them clearly in the darkness, she felt a faint sting.
"Herry?" Emily called softly. "Are you here?"
There was still no answer.
Nathan walked behind her, shielding her with his arm to prevent her from hitting the walls. "Herry is eleven years old. If he was scared, he would have shouted for help. If you haven't heard him, then he's probably not here."
Emily pushed away his arm and groped to the side.
The switch in the last room was in a relatively obvious position, just behind the door. Where could the switch for this room be?
Herry was an eleven-year-old boy, and his height only reached Emily's shoulders. If he could find the exit himself, the switch wouldn't be placed too high.
"Emily, watch your step."
Suddenly, a tremendous force from her waist pulled her back forcefully. The chamber was already dim, and Emily, focused on finding the switch, wasn't prepared and fell backward.
It wasn't until she felt Nathan's warm body that she realized something was off.
"I'm fine, let go of me," she said.
Nathan held her tighter. "It's too dark here; you'll be safer sticking with me."
"I'm not afraid of ghosts," Emily replied, then added, "The ghosts in this haunted house are just people in costumes. What's there to be afraid of?"
Nathan still didn't release her, saying, "Do you have to keep your distance from me like this? Sophia just tried to fall into my arms several times, but I dodged. You don't need to pretend to be strong in front of me. This haunted house is really scary; you don't need to act tough."
"Think what you want," Emily said, forcefully shaking him off. "If I weren't strong, how could I endure your four years of emotional abuse, or your mother's mistreatment? If you like gentle women, go find Sophia. Leave me alone."
She took a few steps away, but Nathan quickly caught up, wrapping his arm around her waist to prevent her from leaving. He smiled and said, "You're so tender towards that masked man, aren't you? You cook and do laundry for him. Why can't you serve me like that?" Emily was shocked. "How do you know?"
"Emily, do you think just because I'm pursuing you, I wouldn't dare do anything to you? Don't forget, aside from being a man, I'm also the CEO of Reed Group. If I want to know something, I can find out." Emily felt a chill throughout her body.
Her encounters with Satan had only occurred in the Hilton hotel room. She was alone at home when she cooked and did laundry, so how did Nathan know?
She was suspicious. "You had someone investigate me?"
"My wife is cohabitating with another man. If this were to be exposed by the media, how could I hold my head up high? I have the right, as your husband, to know who you're with and what you're doing." "But the media doesn't know we're married! We've been married for so many years, and you've always publicly claimed to be single!"
Nathan chuckled. "Do you want me to announce it? If you want, I can call the media right now and expose our marriage."
Emily didn't believe him. "If you announce our marriage, aren't you afraid of losing Sophia's stepfather?"
Nathan frowned.

Emily sneered, "If you announce it, I'm not afraid. My boyfriend trusts me, but will Sophia trust you? Even if Sophia believes you, will your father-in-law believe you? Are you willing to risk the future of Reed Group for me?"
Every word of Emily's was like a knife, striking directly at Nathan's weak spots.
This woman knew his vulnerabilities well.
Reed Group was his most important possession; under no circumstances could he do anything to harm the company.
He couldn't afford to lose Logan Morgan at this critical time.
Seeing him silent, Emily continued, "If you dare to announce it, I dare to publicly claim that we're divorced. As for the reason for divorce... I'll say you're impotent." "How dare you?"
Although Nathan's tone was severe, Emily knew he was afraid.
Men fear nothing more than being called impotent, especially Nathan, a public figure.
Emily pushed him away. "Nathan, I don't want things to get ugly. Before your grandfather passed away, he entrusted me to keep this secret. I can't let him down, and I don't want this matter to be made public.
Sophia was spreading rumors just now. To protect your grandfather's reputation, I had to reveal the truth. There were only three of us in the haunted house. For the sake of marrying you, she naturally will keep quiet. I won't tell anyone either, so this news won't leak out. But what I want to say is, we're separated now, and you have a fiancee. Let's make this marriage a memory. Don't come to me again."
Emily felt she had been very direct with her words, but Nathan didn't seem ready to give up so easily.
He reached out and gently lifted her chin. "Emily, I don't want to let you go, and I don't want another man to have you."
"What are you planning to do then? I don't believe you'd give up the family business for me."
"I want both career and women. I've already said, I can make Sophia Mrs. Reed, and the Morgans will agree. But I want you by my side."
Emily sneered. "You want me to be your mistress?"
"You can be my lover. Nowadays, the law stipulates that illegitimate children also have inheritance rights. I can promise you that I'll leave Reed Group to our child. What else are you dissatisfied with?"
"Haha!" Emily burst out laughing in frustration. "Mr. Reed, I can't afford to test your fertility. I really have no confidence in your sperm count. How about you go to the hospital first and check your oligospermia?"
