Chapter THE INTERROGATION
DAWN
The rain had stopped falling and Adetutu was woken up by the sounds of sirens. Adetutu got up from bed and went to the window to check why the sirens were disturbing her sleep. Adetutu looked out the window and saw the police with their cars, and she was shocked. Adetutu quickly wakes uncle James and Adewale up.
Uncle James and Adewale woke up and opened their eyes but didn’t get up from bed. Uncle James (still feeling sleepy) asked Adetutu ″what is it Adetutu?″.
″The police are here″ said Adetutu (worried) to Adewale and uncle James.
Immediately Adewale and Uncle James heard the word the police, they quickly got up from the bed shocked, and went to the window. Adewale and uncle James saw the police as they looked outside the window and became anxious. Uncle James said ″how did they find us?″.
″Where is Fawmus?″ asked Adewale.
″No idea. I don’t think he is outside also because if he is he would have come in″ said Adetutu.
″Where could he have gone to at this time″ said uncle James (worried).
″What do we do now?″ asked Adetutu, then a police officer spoke through the megaphone to them ″Step outside with your hands in the air or we will force our way in″.
Everyone in the motel room stepped outside upon hearing the policeman say that except the three of them. Adewale said to uncle James and Adetutu ″I think we should step outside, there is no way to escape″
“I disagree. We are accused of killing someone. If we go out to them we will only end up in jail because they will never believe what we say″ said uncle James to Adewale.
″Then what do you suggest we do″ Adewale asked uncle James.
″We run out with speed and don’t stop till we are safe″ said uncle James to Adewale and Adetutu.
″Are you crazy, uncle? That’s a suicide mission. We don’t have a speed power like Fawmus, we will be shot to death″ said Adetutu to Uncle James, in disagreement with his suggestion.
″I know we will be shot but we won’t die. Fawmus made it clear that you both can’t be killed by any weapon made by humans″ said uncle James to Adewale and Adetutu.
″Uncle, we will be shot till we die. Even though we are not really going to die, we will be unconscious and they will still take our bodies to the police station and then we will wake up. How do you want us to explain to the police that we came back alive because we are gods that guns can’t kill when they don’t believe anything we say? I don’t even want to feel the pain of a bullet. What we are going to do is that we will surrender″ said Adewale to uncle James.
Detective John collected the megaphone from the policeman and spoke through it ″I know you are in there because that is where the laptop is. Don’t be surprised though, we were able to locate you because of the laptop you all stole. The owner came to the station and made a report. He even identified Adewale as the thief who stole his laptop. So you all should come outside and follow us to the station now so we can talk. We have a long way to go″.
″Oh God. It was this stupid damned laptop you fail to shut down last night and Fawmus that couldn’t listen to a simple instruction, don’t use Adewale’s face″ said uncle James in anger.
″We don’t know where Fawmus is and there is nothing we can do. We have to do as they say″ said Adewale.
″Let’s surrender and have a chat with the Detective″ said Adetutu.
Adewale, Adetutu, and uncle James all agreed to surrender and came outside with their hands in the air. Just as the police saw the three of them they pointed their guns at them. The three of them kneeled and were handcuffed, and taken to the police station.
A DAY LATER
Adewale, uncle James, and Adetutu have been imprisoned on the top floor of the station building, which is the 6th floor. No one attended to them ever since they were brought to the police station, except those who bring them food to eat. They weren’t attended to because the Deputy chief didn’t want them to be interrogated but taken straight to court.
Detective John had to persuade the Deputy chief to let him interrogate them for the reason that he didn’t think they were the ones that really killed the shaman, and they knew of the three missing guys so the Deputy chief agreed with him.
Adetutu, Adewale, and uncle James were brought into the interrogation room and were seated down on a chair beside each other then handcuffed to a big table in front of them as they stylishly looked at the CCTV camera in the room.
Detective John was watching the three of them from the surveillance room then he left the surveillance control room and went to see the three of them. Detective John walked into the interrogation room and sat down on a chair in front of the table opposite the three of them.
Uncle James said to Detective John ″how could you keep us here for no reason since yesterday″.
″You are here because you committed a crime and all the evidence found is against the three of you. You three are found guilty of a crime. Mr. James, Adewale, Adetutu, I will advise the three of you to cooperate with me so that I can help the three of you out of this mess you all are in″ said Detective John to the three of them.
″I thought you said we are criminals, why would you wanna help us?″ Adewale asked Detective John.
″Because I had a change of mind. Now tell me, what the hell is going on with you three, and make sure you say something understandable″ said Detective John to the three of them.
″We already told you but you not being able to understand makes you think we are crazy or we are saying things that don’t make sense″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″Okay. You said you didn’t kill the shaman right, and that the three other people reported to be on the trailer truck is Adewale. What happened at the hotel?″ Detective John asked the three of them, as he looked at their faces.
″Fawmus happened. Fawmus created a shield to prevent the bullets from getting to us and opened a portal that we went into. Am sure you saw the portal″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″What also happened at the hospital?″ Detective John asked them.
″Fawmus also. Fawmus used his power to change into you, then me and Adewale into the police officers so we can escape easily″ said Adetutu to Detective John.
″Tell me how Fawmus and Fawrus are you″ said Detective John to Adewale.
″They have my face, my body. They are exactly like me and they are supernaturals″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″You are saying Fawmus and Fawrus are both a duplicate of you″ said Detective John to Adewale.
″Something like that″ said Adewale.
″If Fawmus and Fawrus are supernaturals and you, then what are you″ Detective John asked Adewale.
″I am a god” said Adewale to Detective John.
Detective John and the police in the surveillance control room burst into laughter upon hearing that. Adetutu said to Detective John as he laughed ″I know you were going to think it funny″.
Detective John stopped laughing and said to Adewale ″god Adewale, can you tell me where your duplicate Fawrus and Fawmus are?″.
″I have no idea″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″Okay. What role are Fawmus and Fawrus playing?″ Detective John asked Adewale.
″Fawrus is a villain that is after my life and Fawmus is a hero that is trying to save me″ said Adetutu to Detective John.
″So why is the villain after your life?″ Detective John asked Adetutu.
″He wants to transfer my powers to Adewale so he will be able to rule the world″ said Adetutu to Detective John.
″How does transferring your powers to Adewale will make him rule the world and what kind of powers are we talking about?″ Detective John asked Adetutu.
″Because Fawrus will fix back with Adewale and start controlling him and I think I have the same power as that of Adewale″ said Adetutu to Detective John.
Detective John looked at uncle James and asked him ″what about you Mr. James. Do you also have power?″.
″No, am just linked to them″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″Okay, let’s do a little summary. You are saying you both are gods and Mr. James is who knows, but linked to you both. Fawrus and Fawmus are linked to you, Adewale, and Fawmus always saves you guys while Fawrus is the villain. But how come we don’t see any Fawrus or Fawmus whenever we come across the three of you?″ Detective John asked the three of them.
″Because Fawmus and Fawrus are not visible to humans″ said Adewale to Detective John.
Detective John stood up and brought out the small miniature bottle of poison then placed it on the table. ″You might want to explain this to″ said Detective John to the three of them.
″It’s a poison that can be used to stop my heart because I can’t be killed by any weapons made by humans and only if my heart stopped will Fawrus die. Which is how we want to stop Fawrus″ said Adewale to Detective John.
Detective John smiled and said to them ″it seems you all live in a fantasy world. It seems like you are all telling me a story about a movie you all watched. Well, since you said no human weapon can kill you maybe we should try it now″ said Detective John, and removed his pistol from its holster then pointed it at Adewale.
″That gun is not going to...″ said Adewale to Detective John.
Adewale was cut short of words as Detective John shot Adewale in his left chest.
