Chapter 28
Alpha POV
I leave Tory to get ready for our wedding. I am trying to take care of everything and not have her stressing about anything. I want tonight to be special for both of us. Tee sent a couple of the young wolves to pick up the dress she wore when she married Henry. She and Tory are almost the same size, so it should be perfect. Luckily for me, Henry is bringing me a suit from his wardrobe. I do not think I even own a suit.
Joe is marrying us. He is really grumpy about having to stay up late, but I promised him a bottle of his favorite liquor and that I would not bother him about anything for a long time. Joe just wants to be left alone, so this is a win-win for him. Tee has several she-wolves baking and cooking. She is running crazy preparing food for the now huge wedding. I know Tory wanted something small and intimate. If we had been able to get married at the chapel, she would have been more relaxed, but the pack wants to be there for this special event. I am the Alpha; my pack should be there and be involved.
I have no idea how Tee managed to get the young wolves so involved. I have never seen them work so hard. They are decorating and moving things around in the field next to the house. Tee is running between the young wolves and the she- wolves, making sure lighting is done correctly outside, and the right amount of seasoning is used in the kitchen. I owe her big.
"You know I can help you with some of this," I say to Tee.
"Do not be silly. There is no way in hell I am letting you do anything. It is your wedding day," Tee says.
"I owe you big for this," I say to her.
"You saved me from that whack job. I think I owe you," Tee says.
"What are you going to tell Henry about what happened?" I ask her.
"I will tell him the truth. I will not tell him until we get home tonight after your wedding. I do not want him upset. He will be furious. Not at you or me, but about what happened. He hates that he is gone all of the time, but he has to be for work," Tee says.
"You know, Henry could work for the pack. He does not have to be on the road all the time. I could use him. Then I could get you out of my house," I say to Tee.
"Aww, you know you love me being in your house," Tee says.
"I do. You have been a great friend to me over the years and a giant pain in the ass," I say.
Tee slaps me on the arm. "You know you love me, you big asshole," Tee says.
"That is Alpha asshole to you," I say.
"Tee, your husband just pulled up," I say, pointing back to the driveway. Tee takes off like a bolt of lightning toward Henry. She loves him. She jumps in his arms and kisses him. I hope Tory and I are that happy. I want to make Tory light up the way Henry does Tee.
Henry and Tee walk up together, holding hands. "Are you going to put the poor man to work after he drove all this way to be with you?" I ask.
"Well, I do need his help with a few things," Tee says.
Henry looks at Tee and then back to me. "What the hell happened to you?" Henry asks.
He examines her lip and neck. We had not thought about the fact that her wounds are visible; there is no way to hide what happened. Tee looks at me and back to her husband. She shrugs her shoulders, and her body starts to go limp. Tee begins to sob. Nobody has taken the time to let her vent about what happened. I am a fool. I should have gone to her and let her talk about what happened with Alan.
"Alpha, what is going on with my wife?" Henry asks.
"Why don't we go into my office so we can talk about this in private?" I suggest to Henry and Tee.
"I have got this. It is okay, Alpha," Tee says.
Henry pulls Tee close to him as the two of them walk back to the house so she can tell him everything that happened. I feel for him. I felt that horrible pain when Alan took Tory to seeing him choking her, trying to take her life. I would not wish that pain on anyone. Henry is a good man; he will be there for her through this.
I walk the grounds checking on the young wolves. I do not want them slacking in Tee's absence. Tee had the young wolves hang fairy lights and put lights in the ground to mark an aisle for Tory to walk down. They placed chairs for people to sit in and arranged all the chairs to Tee's specifications.
As I walk back into the house to check on the kitchen, I walk past my office. I hear the two of them talking and Tee crying. She is strong, and she has Henry. The she-wolves in the kitchen are decorating the cake. I cannot believe that Tee did all of this while she was suffering so much.
The door to my office opens. The two of them come out, and Tee goes back to work. I catch up to Henry. "I know I should have been here to protect her. I left for one night," I say to Henry.
"You should be able to leave for one night and not have to worry about something like this happening. Nothing you could have done to prevent it. It happened. She will work through it. Tee is a strong wolf. You and I both know she is strong. It is my responsibility to look after my wife, and I should have been here," Henry says.
"I told Tee if you wanted to come off the road, there is always a job here with the pack," I say.
"You know, the pack has never been a priority for me, but Tee is my priority. I think it is time I am home more," Henry says.

"Good, we will work out the details in a few days," I say.
"I got your suit. I will get it out of the car. Tee is eyeballing you. I think she wants you," Henry says.
I look back at Tee, hands on her hips. I am in trouble. "What is it?" I ask her as I walk back into the house. "Go get ready, now," Tee says.
"I am waiting on my suit," I say, pointing at Henry getting my suit out of the car.
"I will bring it to you," Tee says.
"Fine, I will be upstairs," I say.
"No, go in your office. You cannot see the bride before the wedding," Tee says.
"Tee, I have seen her all day. I am sure it will be fine," I say.
"Michael, go to your office," Tee says sternly.
Henry walks up and hands me the bag containing my suit. "I will be in my office. Let me know when you are ready for me," I say as I walk away.
