Tory POV

Jeb spends the next few weeks helping me get my medical license. I work at the clinic under Jeb. Everything is going great. I continue to stay with Alpha in his home. He is beyond hospitable to me. It is unreal how friendly and happy the wolves are here in this pack. I cannot believe that I have finally found a family.

"Tory, Alpha wants to see you in his office. He says it is important," Tee says to me. She looks serious, and I am a little freaked out by the situation.

I get up from the table, leaving my dishes, and stroll down the hall to see what Alpha wants with me. I am scared, to say the least. I gently knock on his door. "Alpha," I say through the door.

"Come in, Tory," Alpha says, his voice deep and gravely.

I walk in almost sheepish. I sit down in the chair in front of his desk. He smiles and almost laughs as I sit down. "Are you okay? You look terrified," Alpha says.

"No, I am not okay. I am scared that you are about to make me leave or something," I say to him.

"No, I wanted to thank you for all the work you have done here. I did not mean to scare you," Alpha says.

I take a deep breath. "When Tee said it was important, I was afraid you wanted me to leave or that I had done something wrong," I say.

"I think you should know by now that I am not like that. It is important, though. I wanted to ask you something," Alpha says.

"Oh, what is that?" I ask. Alpha is nervous and acting very strangely toward me.

"You can say No. I will now hold it against you, but I wondered if you would allow me to take you somewhere to show my appreciation for everything you have done here. You have helped me so much, and I want to thank you," Alpha says. He is so nervous. "Alpha, I would be honored to do something fun with you. I think it would do me some good to get out," I say to him.

"There is a place I like to go a few hours from here. It is nice. I think you will like it. We can take a boat out on the water and watch the sunset," Alpha says.

Is this a date? Is he asking me out in a strange way? Is he afraid to ask me out? I wonder what his intentions are with me. He has been so kind and gentle with me. He has gone out of his way to help me in so many ways. "That sounds really nice. I would love to go out on the water with you, Alpha," I say.

"Michael, you can call me Michael tonight when we are away from the pack. I think I would like it if you did," Alpha says.

"Okay, Michael, I would love to be your date for the night," I say to him. He smiles and relaxes. He wants this to be a date. What the fuck with I wear?

"We should leave this afternoon so we can get the boat and get out on the water before dark. We can stay on the boat tonight if you like. There are two beds," Alpha says.

"I would love that," I say.

I leave his office beaming. When I walk into the kitchen, Tee is smiling at me.

"What?" I ask her.

She stops washing the dishes. "I knew it. I knew he had a thing for you. I could see it in his eyes," Tee says.

"He just wants to say thank you for all the help I have been to Jeb," I say.

"Yeah, right, I am sure he does. I bet he wants to say thank you," Tee teases me.

"I am sure he dates a lot and has women lined up at his door," I say.

Tee completely stops everything she is doing and sits down at the table. "Sit with me, Tory," Tee says.

I take a seat next to Tee. "Listen to me, Alpha does not date, nor does he show interest in any wolf. Since you have been here, he has been happier than I have ever seen him. You are the one, so don't hurt him. If you are not interested, be firm and tell him up front," Tee says.

I absorb Tee's words. "I had no idea. He is very kind to me, and he does seem to care. Look, I do not know how I feel about him," I say.

"Well, don't fuck around and hurt him. Be honest with him; that is all I ask of you," Tee says.

I reach across the table and touch Tee's hand. "I promise to be honest about how I feel. I have no idea how I feel right now. Maybe I will know after tonight," I say to her.

"No, I have nothing," I say to her.

Tee gets up from the table. "Well, then we better raid my closet," Tee says ecstatically.

I follow Tee up the stairs to her room. Her room is across from mine. We go into her closet. There is hanging is the pink dress I wore the night I came here. I gasp when I see it. "Sorry, I kept it. I thought someday I could use the fabric to make something," Tee says.

"No, it is fine. It just surprised me, that is all," I say.

Tee touches my shoulder. "May I ask why you went to the agency? You are so beautiful. I do not understand why?" Tee asks me.

"I was lost. I was heartbroken. I wanted to get away," I say.

"I am happy we found you, and I hope you feel at home here," Tee says.

"I do. For the first time in my life, I feel like I belong somewhere," I say. I begin to cry. Why am I crying?

"No tears, this is a happy day. Let's find you something amazing to wear tonight. You have a hot date with the hottest wolf I know," Tee says.
