Moonville Series 1: Secret Lovers

Chapter 58

The Green Tigers won against the Yellow Huskies. After that, another game was held - Purple Penguins versus Blue Dolphins. But even if their team is playing, Alex did not watch the game. Instead, she went with her friends as they waited for the Green Tigers members in the student lounge.

To Alex's dismay, Richard and Kim went with them. But what can she do? She just made sure that their group is separated from them. She chose a table that is surrounded by tables that are already full. It was a six-seater table, so Kim's group could not join them, but there's still enough seat if Angel and Bryan decide to join them. So Richard and the others just looked for another table, which is two tables away from Alex's.

Angel joined them after a while.

"Where's Bryan, Ate?" asked Alex.

"He's changing," Angel answered.

"Ate Angel, you should have videoed him while he's changing," said Steffi. "That's what Issay wants to see."

"Hey! That's not true!" Issay said to her friend.

Everyone giggled at the two's banter.

"How about a quick pose from our cheerleaders?" Angel said as she readied her camera.

"Yay! I like that!" Issay said as she excitedly prepared to pose.

Angel took some photo of the four friends. After a few shots, she transferred to other tables and took their photos as well. This is still part of the documentation of The Echo for their website. She also took some photos on Richard's table. Alex just looked away and pretended to be busy on her cellphone. She does not want to see Richard posing with Kim, who is sitting beside him. There are even shots where Richard's arm is around Kim's shoulder.

"Richard and Kim really looked good together," Issay said to her friends.

"Are they dating already?" Steffi asked.

"I haven't heard any confirmation yet, but they're always together, right?" Issay answered.

Alex wants to scold her friends for them to stop talking about Kim and Richard, but if she did that, then her secret will be revealed to them.

After taking some photos, Angel went back to Alex and her friends. Alex talked to her to also diver the attention of her friends.

"Are you going to cover another event, Ate?" Alex asked her sister.

"A little later. Lawn tennis," Angel answered.

"Boys category, Ate Angel?" Issay asked.

Angel smiled. "Yes."

"Wow! You really are so lucky," Issay said with envy.

Angel frowned. "Do you think so? Instead of just watching and enjoying the event, I have to take pictures and work. Then later, I need to make an article about the updates on the games." "You know what, Ate? She's just jealous because you get to hang out with the players," Steffi said. "Especially the boys."

"That's not true!" Issay said to Steffi. "You're so judgmental."

"You said earlier that Ate Angel is lucky because she gets to be with the players in the locker room," Steffi said.

"I don't remember saying that," Issay denied. "By the way, Ate Angel. You can get inside their locker rooms, right? So you can see them change?"

Everyone laughed at what Issay said.

"What's funny?" Issay asked innocently.

"You don't know?" Steffi asked.

"There's a separate area where we stay and wait and talk to the players," Angel said, still smiling widely because of Issay. "It's outside the area where they shower and change clothes." "Pardon Issay, Ate," said Steffi. "She really has those slow moments sometimes."

"You're so mean to me!" Issay scowled, making the others laugh at her.

That's when Bryan joined them. "Hi!" he said to everyone. Then he sat down beside Angel.

Alex introduced her friends to him. "By the way, Bryan, these are my friends. This is Steffi and Sam."

"Hi!" Sam said. Steffi just smiled at Bryan.

"Hi! Nice to meet you!" Bryan held out his hand and shook hands with them.

"And, this is Issay," Alex continued. "Your number one fan."

"Hey! That's not true!" Issay said to Alex, obviously embarrassed. "Hi..."

"Hi!" Bryan held out his hand to her as well.

Issay shyly accepted Bryan's hand. She can't help but get thrilled as she shook her crush's hand.

"Issay! Your face is so red!" Steffi teased.

"What?!" Issay held her face.

"Uh... Is something wrong?" asked Bryan.

"None," Steffi answered.

"Pardon these two, Kuya," said Sam.

"It's okay," Bryan said, though he's still confused as to what is happening.

"Bryan is really so nice," Alex teased. She can't help but smile at Issay's embarrassment.

"Issay is blushing," Angel said. It seems she's already comprehending what is happening.

"Issay! Ate Angel already knows what's happening," Steffi said.

"Stop it! Ate, I didn't do anything wrong," Issay said defensively.

Her three friends laughed at how Issay acted.

"Hmn? Is there something wrong?" Angel asked. She already knows whats' happening, but she's pretending to be clueless just to joke around Alex's friends. "Nothing, Ate! Nothing!" answered Issay.

"Ate, beware of Issay because she might steal your boyfriend," Alex joked.

"Hey! That's not true!" Issay is obviously panicking. "Ate Angel, that's not true! Hey, Alex! Take back what you said!"

But instead of doing what she said, Alex just laughed at Issay. Her two friends also laughed at her. Angel and Bryan also laughed.

"Is that true, Issay?" Angel asked.

"No! It's not true, Ate Angel! Your sister is just crazy." She then faced Alex. "Will you stop teasing me? You're making me embarrassed."

"I was just joking, but you're taking things too seriously," Alex said. "But Bryan, Issay really has a crush on you."

"Alex! I'm going!" Issay is about to stand up, but her three friends stopped her. Her face is so red because of embarrassment. "Don't you know how embarrassed I feel right now?"

"It's okay, Issay," Angel said. "I'm not mad. Promise."

"I'm really sorry, Ate. It's just that these three really loves making fun of me." She then scowled.

Angel looked at Bryan who seems to enjoy what the four friends are doing. "And you, Mr. Bryan de Vera. You seem to be enjoying yourself. You obviously liked hearing that one more girl has a crush on you." "Not really," Bryan said. "It's just fun watching them."

"You're quiet because you're tired, right?" Angel said. She giggled.

Bryan smiled. "Am I that obvious?"

Angel did not answer, but instead crinkled her nose.

"I guess it was a long time since I played an entire basketball game... You drive later, okay?" Bryan said to Angel.

"What happened to being a gentleman?" Angel asked.

"I'm trimming down my gallantness so that girls would stop falling for me," Bryan joked.

"Wow! Such nerves!" Angel said. The two of them laughed at their banter.

"So that's how they are," Steffi said to Alex. "Like they have their own world."

"That's how they are when they're being affectionate with each other," said Alex.

"You're just envious," Angel said to her sister.

"Who would not envy you, Ate Angel?" Steffi said. "You have everything, then now you have the best boyfriend in CPRU."

"Whoa!" Bryan suddenly looked proud.

"You really are still young," Angel said. "This is the best boyfriend? How come?" She then looked at Bryan like she's examining him.

"Well, yeah. Actually, I'm not the best boyfriend," Bryan said. "The thing is, I got the best girlfriend." He wrapped his arm around Angel's shoulder.

"Oh my!" Steffi said. The three friends gushed at Bryan's gesture.

Angel did not disprove what Alex said. "Actually, you're right. I've got the best boyfriend but that's because I know that he loves me as much as I do for him. That's what's important."

"That's right," Bryan agreed. "And surely, you will also have that perfect boyfriend for you. That guy who will love you and who will take care of you. I'm not perfect. But the love that I feel for Angel, that's what's perfect." "Uh..." Sam, Issay and Steffi said in unison.

"But I hope he's as sweet as you are," Steffi said.

"Hmn, all guys are sweet," Bryan said. "If they really like a girl, they become sweet unconsciously."

"So Issay..." Alex looked at her friend.

"What now?" Issay asked.

"Don't be mad anymore!" Alex said giggling. "That's just a joke. And also, I won't say that to Ate if I know it's not okay with her. And to Bryan as well."

"That's right," Angel said. "I know Issay is a good girl."

"Oooh!" Steffi teased. "Issay is a good girl, huh?"

"Thanks, Ate," Issay said to Angel. And then, she looked at Bryan. "Sorry, Kuya Bryan. Please excuse my friends."

"It's okay," Bryan said. "I'm flattered, actually. But like what I've said, someday you will also meet that perfect boyfriend for you. Who knows? He might be more good looking and more kind than me." "And more humble," Angel added.

"I'm also humble!" Bryan said. "I'm just telling the truth. I'm really good looking and kind. That's true, right?" He looked at Alex and her friends.

Who agreed with Bryan, as they support the jesting of the two lovers.

"If you're really kind, then treat us," Angel said. "At the cafeteria."

"Pasta again?" Bryan asked.

Angel said. "You know that's my favorite. Come on! So that you can eat as well."

Bryan chuckled. "So I'm the one who needs to eat now?".

Angel giggled. "Yes. You're tired, so you need to eat. Let's go!"

Angel stood up, followed by Bryan, then the four friends.

"I'll just go ask Richard," Bryan said. He went to Richard and the others.

Alex looked on as Bryan went to Richard, trying to decode their conversation. After a while, Bryan returned to them.

"They said they'll watch the swimming competition," Bryan told Angel. "Kim's brother is competing."

"Is that so?" Angel said. She looked at Alex.

"Then, let's go," Alex said, trying so hard to ignore Angel's gaze. "Let's go before Bryan change his mind. Come on!"

Alex went ahead to the cafeteria, followed by her three friends. Angel followed them as she felt worried about her sister. She suddenly felt Bryan's arm around her shoulders. She looked at him. Bryan gave her that reassuring smile. She smiled and together they followed the four girls to the cafeteria.
