Chapter 49 b
But Tasya couldn't protest too much. Initially, she had protested vehemently. She thought it was all too excessive for a wedding. True, their wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime event. A moment that would never be forgotten and remembered forever. But if it was too much?
"Back when Noah Sinclair was about to marry Jannet Sinclair, Mama was sad, Tasya." Sunny fell silent for a moment. Her eyes lowered slightly as she recalled the past.
"What do you mean, Ma?" Tasya asked carefully.
"Well... Back then, Faldom wasn't as big as it is now. Noah Sinclair was still an ordinary employee. He didn't have a lot of savings, but Jannet understood my son's situation perfectly. She said there would be many more celebrations, Ma. Our wedding anniversaries, the birth of my child and Noah Sinclair's, our future child's birthdays. Don't be sad about this beautiful party plan, according to me."
Tasya didn't want to speak yet.
"Mama's son-in-law is very understanding, Tasya." Sunny smiled thinly. "Mama doesn't compare you to her anymore, right? Mama just wants to give the best to her future daughter-in-law. What I couldn't give before, I'll give to you." "Is that so?" Tasya asked with a touched look.
"Mama's son is Nathan now. So let's make this a joyous wedding celebration for all parties involved, Tasya. Besides, Naina is also so happy to have you in our lives. She said it would definitely be a magnificent wedding for her new mother."
Tasya fell silent, her heart feeling restless. Not because she was angry or anxious about her upcoming wedding. It was a sudden feeling that enveloped her heart. Warm too... It felt so comfortable.
"Consider this a gift from Mama and Papa for your event. A token of appreciation for accepting Nathan along with Naina. They both have been more or less trouble-free without many complaints from you."
"Hey, brides are not allowed to daydream!" Koni patted Tasya's shoulder while laughing. "What are you thinking about, huh? Wedding night, perhaps?"
Oh boy! Don't ask about Tasya's face after that! She turned as red as a boiled crab, but quickly shook her head because Koni's statement was entirely untrue. "No way," she said with a teasing tone.
Koni laughed at her blushing client. Her happiness couldn't be concealed at all. Initially, Koni had been somewhat skeptical about Nathan, who had appeared in Seira and Olivia's stories a few times. But today shattered all doubts. Nathan's eyes were the same, filled with joy for the newly held wedding. Overflowing with love, focused only on the girl whose face he was now gazing at.
Correcting some parts, she deemed necessary. She didn't apply much to Tasya's face, which was naturally beautiful and well-maintained. It's no wonder so many people praised her beauty because Tasya was the type who didn't pay much attention to her appearance. But once she wore makeup, highlighted in certain areas, it undoubtedly caught the attention of many. Koni, as the wedding makeup artist this time, felt honored.
"But Tasya, you followed what I asked, right?"
Tasya furrowed her brow.
"Don't pretend you don't know, okay?"
"Which one, sis?" Tasya truly didn't understand where Koni was going with this conversation.
"Your other body care."
Clearly, that statement made Tasya's face even redder. As red as can be.
"Uh, don't act like you don't know. So your first night will be super."
"Koni, oh! Don't talk about that, I'm embarrassed." Tasya bowed her head. Her hands were tightly intertwined, and they trembled. That was an honest reaction because she had never really imagined being alone with Nathan. Despite their frequent interactions, they were not typically sharing a room, right?
Oh my God! Why did Koni have to bring this up?
"Alright, alright. What's important is that you've done it, right?" Koni asked with her mischievous laughter.
"Done what, Koni?" Seira asked with a furrowed brow. "What are you talking about? The event host will be here soon. The reception is about to begin," Seira continued. She reflexively checked Tasya's hair arrangement with her hands. In front of this large mirror, Tasya herself was captivated by her own reflection. She looked much different, didn't she? But it felt unbelievable that she could look like this. The makeup wasn't too heavy. In fact, the natural look with minimal colors used made her look much prettier than when she got engaged a while back.
That alone caused quite a stir in the Faldom office.
There were numerous compliments showered on Tasya. Also, some questions she didn't consider important but found a bit annoying.
"How could Mr. Nathan propose to Tasya? What's so special about him?"
Oh my. Tasya must have sighed in annoyance countless times because of that question. Well, it's true, she was nothing compared to Nathan. Who in Faldom didn't know Nathan? While her? "The bride looks so beautiful," Seira genuinely compliments. "Koni works wonders."
"If it weren't for Bu Seira and Koni, I'd be really nervous," Tasya smiles in response to Seira's earlier comment. Seira worked on Tasya's beautifully flowing hair, adorned with strings of pearls sewn between her braided strands. Truly sewn! Tasya herself couldn't believe what Seira had done an hour ago. She wanted to protest and ask, but it didn't feel right. She had entrusted Seira with a special task, right? But after everything was done, Tasya was amazed by the result. Her black hair was styled into gentle waves at the bottom. The large hairpin Seira created was placed right in the middle.
"It looks really good," Tasya says, touched. She gently twirls the ends of her hair. "I'm truly touched."
"Your face is beautiful, Tasya. The one you always hide behind thick glasses and bangs that you probably don't need anymore," Koni chimed in this time. She gave Tasya's cheeks a final touch, concluding the series of makeup that undoubtedly left others in awe.
"Try not wearing glasses but use contact lenses like now," Seira suggests. "The photos after the ceremony looked great. I noticed from the guest seats. Olivia even said you looked incredibly beautiful."
"But my eyesight is quite bad, Bu. I often feel uncomfortable working with contact lenses."
Seira nodded in understanding, but the crease on her forehead didn't disappear. "Why doesn't Olivia ever complain?"
"Olivia uses contact lenses for fashion, Seira," Marta chimed in as she entered, with Olivia walking beside her. The gray-haired woman's face twisted in disbelief.
"Oh, come on. Being able to change eye colors is amazing. Just look at how Mr. Thomas got enchanted."
Marta burst into laughter. Meanwhile, the mother shook her head in disbelief at her daughter's statement. She quickly approached Olivia.
"Walk slowly, my goodness, this child."
"Oh, Mommy. I'm already walking slowly. Besides, I'm fine, really. My shoes aren't even slippery." Olivia grumbled but then smiled broadly when her eyes met Tasya's in the mirror.
"You look so beautiful, Tasya. Seriously." She took a seat next to the bride. The wedding ceremony had taken place three hours ago.
"You can be beautiful too, Oliv." Tasya lowered her gaze slightly.
"Finally, Mr. Nathan is serious about one woman. It's scary being around Mr. Nathan, ugh."
Tasya just laughed in response.
"Why can you, Tasya, be comfortable around Mr. Nathan? Don't you feel anything?" Olivia asks with her innocence.
Tasya got to know Olivia because of Naina. Getting acquainted with the pregnant woman's family was also because of Naina's antics. Even Nathan, who suddenly had a collaboration with Robert, Seira's husband, started because of Naina. Nathan's stories about Naina's behavior towards Olivia's family could really get one's blood boiling.
Tasya was caught up in it too, looking for a partner for Nathan, someone a few years older than him and with red hair. That's how obsessed Naina was with the woman who was now in the same room as her.
"I'm sure there's something, but it seems like Nathan has changed."
"I've noticed that too, Tasya," Marta chimed in this time. She also took a seat beside Tasya. They had kindly come to bear witness to Tasya's historic day.
"Nathan has never been this serious with a woman before. You're lucky to be the girl who melted Nathan's heart."
Tasya grinned. "Luck or misfortune, huh? Because Nathan can be really annoying sometimes. I won't deny that."
They laughed together.
"He's your husband, Tasya. You shouldn't talk about him like that."
"But it's the truth, right?" Tasya shrugged with a wry smile.
"But Daddy Raptor can be annoying, Olivia."
Olivia laughed even harder. Ever since she first heard Naina call Nathan "Raptor," she couldn't help but laugh. She even asked why Nathan was called Raptor. Naina explained it casually, "Tasya said Daddy is a skilled hunter, an expert predator. His eyes look scary when he's angry, and the most common thing Tasya says about Daddy is that he's short-tempered."
"How annoying is he, Naina?" Koni asked again, even though she had already asked about Nathan many times, getting plenty of annoyed responses from her own daughter.
"Very annoying. Basically, he just makes us mad, right, Mom?" Naina said while sitting next to Tasya. Her eyes never left Tasya as she was getting ready. The dress she chose turned out to be a perfect fit for Tasya. There was a sense of pride and joy because Tasya didn't disregard her choice.
"The most annoying thing of all, Daddy said this to me earlier, Mom."
Everyone there leaned in to hear what Naina was going to say.
"Daddy said I have to go home with Grandma after the party is over. Daddy and Mama want to sleep together. I'm not allowed to be with you guys."
Oh God! How could Nathan say something like that to Naina?
Just wait, Raptor! Just wait!!!
