Madilynne

Chapter Captured

Kade's P.O.V

‘Kade he’s coming please find me!’ Her cry for help quickly vanished from the already weakening link between us. I could feel one overpowering emotion coming through, fear. As soon as our connection broke, I let out a roar that shook the room. “FUCK!” Not being able to defend my mate was sending Jaxx and I down a tunnel full of rage, and quickly.

I knew the only reason we had a link was that we’re mates and being close to one another allowed the bond to grow, but we haven’t finished the mate bond so it would only weaken the longer we were apart. I need to find her before I completely lose contact.

Throwing open Madi's bedroom door I mind-linked my father. Now was a good time as any to pay a visit to the Cedarwood Pack.

‘Madi's been taken, and I have a pretty good idea as to who is behind it. I’ll be returning home soon.’ My voice carried through, cold and held determination. My Dad snarled through the mind link ‘We’ll find her son, no matter the cost. Our Luna will be returned.’

I made my way back to Alpha Finn’s office and debriefed him on the news of Madi, he would be joining us on our trip to the Cedarwood Pack.

The ride to my Pack was short, mostly because I more than likely broke every traffic law on my way. I didn’t care, time was precious so we needed to move fast. My dad had contacted the Alpha of Cedar wood to notify him of our arrival, it’s shifter law to ask permission before crossing territories first. Or you’d risk war between packs. At the moment I could care less, I’d raise hell to bring my mate home.

Pulling into the driveway of the packhouse, full of black SUV’s. I shut my truck off and paced to the front door. Thank the moon goddess my dad thought to bring him in on this, I was going to need all the help I could get to find the son of a bitch that took my mate, and he was the guy to find him.

“Welcome home brother, it’s been a while.” His gruff voice announced as soon as I made it through the entryway.

“Kole, thanks brother wish it was on better terms. Dad call you?” I asked as I embraced my Older brother.

“Yeah, he filled me in. Let’s get your Luna back.”

Fear. An emotion that overrides all your senses, you can’t think, or hardly breathe. Fight or flight being the primal instinct to the emotion, and I wanted to run as far away as possible, But I was chained to a wall with unforgiving cuffs restraining me as the silver burned my flesh. I tried to grasp the fragile link I shared with Kade in my mind, but it kept slipping just out of my reach.

His voice bounced off the walls taunting me further into this overwhelming feeling “I can smell your fear, Madi.”

I felt like I was back at the start of things again with him, helpless. Useless.

‘Kade he’s coming please find me!’ My emotions pouring in as his steps sounded closer, I felt the connection go lax. My hope of being saved growing smaller by the second.

“Ah, there she is. Finally, you’re awake.” He spoke as if we were old friends meeting again after a few months of missing each other.

“Why am I here Miles?” I snapped.

" Tsk, Tsk, Where are your manners Madi. Have you forgotten how to use them? Or do you need a reminder after all this time?” He taunted his threat.

“Fuck you! Let us go!” I growled out.

SLAP.

Heat coursed through my right cheek as my head was thrown to the side at the force. All the past assaults came flooding back, the memory dam breaking, trying to drown me.

“Now, here’s what’s going to happen. You are going to behave and maybe I’ll let your friend live.” He spoke as he crouched down in front of me.

“Don’t you dare touch her, leave her out of this, or ill rip your limbs from your body.” I snarled in his face, inches away. If I could shift I’d rip his throat out.

His sinister laughter echoed throughout the cell “I warned you.” I helplessly watched as he walked over to Katie’s unconscious body and injected her with something. She started to groan and it grew into howls of pain, “What did you do! Let me go!” I jerked harder at the restraints as horror seeped through my anger.

“Oh, just injected her with a little bit of wolfsbane, enjoy the show Madi.” He said as he walked out of the cell.

I pulled and tugged at my restraints as her body convulsed and a black fluid crept through her veins. Each vein slowly overcome by the inky fluid.

Katie’s breaths were growing shallow and the convulsions were lessening, I’ve never seen wolfsbane or how it acted but by the sound of her heartbeat, it didn’t sound good. I searched deep inside of me for any strength I could salvage ‘Willow please, if you can hear me I need you’ I whimpered. I couldn’t feel or hear her. I was alone. I need to save Katie, this can’t be it for her.

Without Willow, I didn’t have much strength, but I continued to pull at the chains relentlessly. Cutting and burning my flesh as I yanked as hard as I could, Blood trickling down my wrists. “I’m so sorry Katie” I whispered as she gasped for air, each gasp growing smaller by the second. Tears falling freely down my face.

The final breath. My heart broke. Sobs wracked my body as I watched her chest fall for the final time. I screamed, my pain flooding the air.

“Remove the body, and burn it.” His voice sounded like the death of my friend was a bother to him.

“Don’t touch her! You evil bastard! I swear to the Goddess I’ll shred you limb by limb!” I shouted rage filling my voice.

“Night, night, little wolf.” A voice crowed off to the side, I turned my head as I felt a pinch at the side of my neck, an unknown fluid filling my system.

“He’ll.. find.. me” I groggily said as my vision swayed, two figures in front of me danced across my vision, and everything went black.
