Chapter 24
Love Never Regrets By Roana Cyrus Chapter 24 Let’s Talk When I Get Back
“Mr. Jordan, this is my college classmate, Blair.”
“Hello, Mr. Jordan. I’ve heard a lot about you from my friend Serena. Thank you for taking care of her.” Blair knew how to talk to people, changing her tone depending on who she was speaking to. When did Serena even mention Mr. Jordan to her?
“You’re classmates? Do you also study law?” Charlie was also friendly and started chatting with Blair after sitting down.
“No, I study psychology. By chance, we ended up in the same dorm room as roommates during the college room assignment.” Blair answered honestly.
“Psychology? So, now you’re a psychology expert?”
“More or less.” Blair, as an internet celebrity and emotional blogger, answered many consultations every day, so she could be considered a psychological expert.
B Charlie was in his early thirties, in good shape and with a good income from the law firm. He was also a sought–after single man, but obviously not in Blair’s eyes.
Serena knew Blair well. Once she talked in a formal and polite tone, it meant that she was not interested in the other person. Charlie didn’t
seem to be interested in Blair either. The three of them ate and chatted together, and the atmosphere was like colleagues who had worked together for many years.
After a while, Charlie’s phone rang. It was a client he was scheduled to meet with in the afternoon who had arrived early at the law firm, so he had to say goodbye and leave early.
When only Serena and Blair were left in the restaurant, Blair said, “This Mr. Jordan seems to be interested in you.”
Serena firmly denied, “It’s impossible. Mr. Jordan only has work in his eyes.”
“Darling, trust your teacher’s judgement. But this man is very practical. He must be looking for someone who is on par with him and can fight alongside him. As for you, you probably still have a good impression on him and he wants to keep you, but doesn’t want to make any further commitments. So, he is cultivating you intentionally or
unintentionally, both to win your favour and to observe whether you have room for growth and whether you are qualified to stand alongside him.”
Serena replied, “Blair, you’re talking nonsense with such a serious tone again. I almost believed you if I didn’t know Mr. Jordan well.”
“Darling, you don’t know how charming you are, it’s a waste.” Blair changed the subject, “You mentioned that you have good news for me today?”
“Yes, I almost forgot. I got the Future Better Technology Company. The HR director invited me to sign the contract tomorrow, and for the next year, they will give me all the recruitment positions for their technology department. I have to thank Penn for this. Although he rejected me and said he couldn’t help me, he recommended me to their HR director on WhatsApp. Think about it, when the CEO personally recommends you on WhatsApp, how can the HR director not take it seriously?”
Serena was caught off guard when Blair mentioned Penn’s name again and replied somewhat nervously, “That’s great. Keep up the good work.”
“I used to be a headhunter just to meet all kinds of people and experience life, but now that I’ve got a Future Better Technology Company, I’ll work hard. In the future, I’ll also be able to brag to my fans that I’m a rising star in the workplace.” Blair lived freely and recklessly. Once she was sure of what she wanted, she would charge ahead without hesitation.
When the two parted ways, Blair habitually pulled Serena close and took a selfie, which she posted on her WhatsApp Moments. In the photo, the autumn sun shone brightly through the windows of the Dream Tea Restaurant, illuminating Serena’s smiling face. The lighting was perfect, making both Blair and Serena look especially beautiful. Blair’s beauty was dazzling and charming, while Serena’s was simple and elegant. Together, they looked surprisingly harmonious.
When Serena arrived at the law firm, Blair’s WhatsApp Moments had already received numerous likes. They had many mutual friends, and Jenny was one of them.
Jenny commented: “Fairy, stop introducing random guys to my Serena
all the time.”
Blair replied: “What guys?”
Jenny: “There are three sets of tableware on the table behind you, so there must be guys. Otherwise, besides me, who else do you have as a mutual friend?”
Blair: “You have sharp eyes. You’re right, but it’s not a guy I
introduced. It’s one of Serena’s suitors, and I’m screening him for her.”
Jenny: Serena Woodsen come out and explain to me. How come I don’t know you have a suitor?”
Blair and Jenny exchanged more than a dozen comments, taking up the entire page. Serena was used to this and, being busy with work, ignored them.
Jenny was Blair’s only mutual friend, so the three of them often interacted without reservation in the comments section, occasionally using it as a chat interface. After all, only the three of them could see it.
However, this time, Serena had a feeling that something was off. After finishing her work, a thought suddenly flashed through her mind…
Blair and Jenny both joined the Penn’s Whatsapp group recently, so their comments and interactions are visible to Penn. At the same time, Serena saw the last few interactions between them.
Blair: Serena finally gave away her first time. She said her partner was very skilled and the experience was great. How about you? Do you want to join my club and learn how to have a great experience?
Jenny: Don’t corrupt Serena… What club? I want to join.
After reading their conversation, Serena immediately called Blair and strongly requested that she delete or block the Whatsapp Moments.
Blair refused, saying that it was her most liked photo and she wouldn’t delete it.
Serena begged Blair to at least delete the comments between her and Jenny, but Blair insisted that there was no secret between them and they didn’t need to delete anything.
Serena warned Blair that Penn could see their interactions as he was their common friend, but Blair had already forgotten about it and promised to delete the Moments.
After Blair deleted the Moments, she tried to comfort Serena by saying that Penn was too busy to look at her Whatsapp Moments and even if he did, he wouldn’t care.
However, Serena forgot that there are no coincidences in the world, and Penn happened to see the Whatsapp Moments. When she got home, she received a Whatsapp message from Penn with only three question marks.
Serena was scared and only responded with three question marks.
Chapter 24 Let’s Talk When I Get Back
After a while, Penn replied, “Let’s talk when I come back.”
