Love conquers all

Chapter 22. The speech

Before speaking I looked at him carefully: “Falco ...” I said with little uncertainty, I had begun to distinguish who was in charge of the body they shared.

“Yes, it’s me, my little Mate!”

We got out of the water and he placed me gently on a smooth rock, it looked like a natural bed prepared especially for us. Falco began to kiss, suck and caress my whole body. I asked nothing about what he and Nathan had said to each other, but if Falco was there with me, it only meant one thing: Nathan had agreed to step back for his wolf. He kissed me and sucked a particular spot on my neck that made me mad and moan like an animal in heat; Falco said to me in a threatening tone: “I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist, I wanted to mark you from the first moment I discovered you were our Mate, but Nathan told me that I could have you on one condition only.”

“Which condition?” I asked curiously, I knew what it meant to mark your Mate.

“His answer was: his father told him not to.” I didn’t ask any more because I knew I wasn’t going to get an answer right now, not from him, so I let myself go.

From how they loved my body I could well distinguish their differences. One was sweet and passionate, the other was rough and dominant. One compensated for the other. A mix that made me dizzy. I was ecstatic, drunk with lust, for the man and the beast who were there with me, for me.

We had swam, had sex, rested, swam, made love the whole time.

I was lying with Nathan on the rock when I asked him: “Why don’t you want Falco to mark me?”

“When I told my father that you were my Mate, he asked me not to mark you. When we got back from the school trip he gave me a speech that had a logical thread on reflection.”

“I want to hear it.” I said, even though I partly believed I knew what it was.

“Myra, you are ... when you mark your predestined Mate, you are bound to her forever, deeply, totally. If she dies your soul dies with her. My father believes that if I don’t mark you I could suffer less than I would if I was tied to you. ”

“I think I understand his point of view. The loss of your mother makes him a valuable counselor. My mother, on the other hand, asked me to spend less time with you, to encourage you to have other friends, to pursue your hobbies, and not to sleep together.”

“Myra, I understand them, they love us unconditionally, but they have never been in the same situation as us. Everyone lives life, emotions differently. I want to live you, breathe you, eat you every moment you are with me.” A tear fell on my face, it was a tear full of so many feelings. The first of all was: the love for this wonderful person that the goddess of the moon had tied to me. Second: understanding towards our parents. Third, but not least and unimportant: it was anger. The anger against the fate that had touched me.

“We have to go back.” Nathan said, standing up and reaching out to help lift me up.

“Thank you”; I said, grabbing his outstretched hands and standing up.

Nathan picked me up to walk that pitch dark stretch of cave, and then put me down when I could see where to put my feet. He transformed, I got on Falco’s back and in a short time we were home.

“How about organizing a dinner and talking to our parents about what we want.”

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it, but we can try, I think I can survive!”

“Well then, you talk to your parents and I will talk to my father. Tonight we all have dinner together.”

He kissed me quickly and left with just as much haste, leaving me standing at the door thinking, “What did I really want for myself.” I would think about it until dinner time, when we would talk to our parents, because after that there would be no turning back.

“Mom, Dad I invited Nathan and his family to dinner tonight.” I announced entering the common room where they were arguing about something.

“I’ll notify Maria immediately. How was your day?”

“Very well, thanks. What were you talking about?”

“Nothing!”

“I go to my room”; I said leaving them there with still something to ask, but I didn’t give them time.

Once I found the dress to wear, I lay down on the bed to think, but after a while I heard a knock on the door.

“Who is it?”

“Myra, do you have a visitor!”

I ran to open the door curious to find out who it was. Andrea…

“Can I come in?”

“Of course, you silly!”

My mother left with a smile and Andrea entered my room.

“Where have you been today? We waited for you at lunch, at the exit ...”

“I skipped school with Nathan!” I said silently, as if someone was eavesdropping on our conversation.

“Myra skipping school? I can’t believe it! Where did you go?”

“He took me to a crazy place.” I told Andrea about my day and she, in the end, asked me: “Myra, you know that you are like a sister to me, being part of the pack binds us even more, I am very happy that you have a Mate, beloved, happy. I hope you won’t be angry when I tell you something. ”

“Andrea, I’m used to your frankness!”

“Good. If you really love Nathan I think you should push him away a little.”

“Did my mother ask you to talk to me? Val is dead and now she uses you to reach me.”

“It is not so.”

“Oh yes it is! And now that you have told me so, I am even more convinced that it is so.”

“Myra, we want ...”

“No, Andrea I don’t want to hear what you want, have you heard what I want? You don’t know what I’m going through or what will become of Nathan after me. I don’t want to hear about this anymore!” I was exasperated and Andrea got out of bed and before leaving she said to me: “Sorry, Myra!”

I was hurt, angry, but not with Andrea, she was just a spokesperson. However, I would have tried to explain and resolve the matter that same evening.

Before leaving my room I made a summary of what I was going to say, everything was very clear in my mind I just had to get it out at the right time.

“Good evening!” Ivan greeted extending a hand to shake my father’s and immediately after Nathan imitated him.

“Hi Myra!” Silvia greeted me, with a beaming smile, throwing her arms around my neck. Surely she was one of those who believed in the predestined life of the Mate.

“Hi Silvia”; I returned, hugging the girl with the same intensity.

“Nathan told me that you are his Mate! So you will be my sister from now and forever.” With a treat my smile darkened. I had no problem with her being my sister, because I had never had one and so many times I had wished to have a sister. Did she know about my situation?

“Silvia has prepared a cake for the evening. Who can give it to?” Nathan asked, breaking the conversation, saving me from that situation, but maybe it was just postponed.

When dinner was over we were sitting on the sofas near the fireplace, chatting and drinking.

Nathan looked at me intensely in the eyes, smiled at me and squeezed my hand tightly, he wanted to tell me that he would have tanned his speech.

“Dad, Alpha Nicola, Luna Giusy, I want to let you all know what I want for me, for us. ” He began the speech and when he said for us, he was clearly referring to our life together, because he looked in my direction.

“Nathan ...” my mother wanted to say something, but Nathan kindly stopped her: “Excuse me, I would like to speak first, you listen to me and then you will tell me your opinion.” Everyone nodded and Nathan continued his speech.

“We understand your concerns, we accept that you care about us and we agree that everyone speaks according to their own experience. Myra was chosen by the goddess of the moon to be my Mate, she made us meet before his death, don’t you also think that there is a reason in all this? I want to spend every moment, I want to experience everything good or bad with my Mate. I know there will be good days and terribly tiring days, I also know that sooner or later she will be gone, but I want that when it happens I have neither regrets nor remorse.

You would like to live a life full of remorse and regret, because that is what you are asking of me. I couldn’t live knowing what I could have or do and not have done it out of fear or worse because you thought you were making me suffer less. Well I don’t want this for me! Dad, mom was snatched away from us quickly, but if you had time with her before death what would you have done?” Ivan looked down and my mom and dad too, maybe they were starting to look at the situation from another point of view.

Nathan turned to me, took both my hands and looking straight into his eyes said to me: “Myra ...”
