Love conquers all

Chapter 21. What's the point?

What I had to do was difficult to do, painful and went against the concept of Mate. What I wanted to do, however, was to leave the whole world, the problems and the pain outside and follow Nathan to the end of the world.

Between duty and will it was easy to guess which of the two options was the winning one; but the problem was the future to consider.

“Nathan, we’re at school, the principal saw me, I can’t skip this day.” I said trying to find a valid quibble not to go with him.

“Why did the principal ever lecture?”

“No, but he might notice my absence!”

“Has he ever checked the registers, the canteen, the classrooms?”

“We can’t know that.”

“Okay, have you ever heard that someone has been punished for being caught?”

“Okay, but that’s not the point.” I was running out of ideas and if he asked me what the point was, I was screwed.

“Ok, what’s the point then, Little Bird!” Just as I said before, I was screwed.

“If anyone sees us? Do they tell my mother?”

“They are all in class, nobody will see us.” He told me stroking my cheek with the knuckles of his hand.

“What about you then, would you like to skip school with me?” I had found no way to make him give up; I couldn’t say no to that look with which I melted like snow in the sun.

“Here we go.” He took my hand and gently pulled me leading the way. We left the room we were in and as he had predicted, there was not a soul in the corridor. After we were walking for a while, Nathan proposed to me: “If I transform myself and you stand on Falco we will arrive in a moment.”

“Where do you want to take me?”

“A place I discovered yesterday and I want to share it with you!”

“Ok, let Falco out.” Nathan began to undress in front of me, I had forgotten this part. He had to undress or his clothes would all be ripped.

“I’ll take them”; I said taking the shirt and then one at a time all of his clothes.

When he was all naked he transformed in seconds, it was painful just the thought of how the bones broke and repositioned during the transformation. At the same time, however, he was able to exert a strong fascination on the whole transformation process. I must admit that if on the one hand I was relieved not to feel that pain, it was also true that on the other hand I had never been able to overcome the fact of not having a she-wolf and never feeling everything related to it.

Falco bent down to allow me to climb onto him, I tucked my clothes under my belly, hugged him tightly and said close to his ear: “Let me fly on your wings, Falco!” His whole body trembled from the growl of affirmation he emanated.

He began to run in the forest, the evergreen oak and downy trees became more and more dense, the wild nature made space between the sky and the earth. The wind ruffled my hair, the thundering noise of his paws running fast and while the cold late autumn air must have made me shiver, on the contrary what I felt was warm. The contact of my skin with the soft Falco fur was like a burning fire.

Falco began to slow down and stopped in a small clearing. I got out and in the meantime he transformed himself, dressed and took my hand.

“Here we go.”

“Where is this place?” I asked curiously, apart from the rocks and trees I didn’t see anything extraordinary to see.

“Come with me and you will see!”

We crossed the clearing and walked around the rocks, where there was an opening.

“Don’t tell me you’re going to let me into a cave!?”

“You will not regret it!”

“You know I trust you, otherwise I would never have entered there.” I had never been thrilled by the idea of entering a cave, dark and above all with the possibility of meeting bats.

“I warn you: if there are bats and terror assails me, I will not be held responsible for my actions.” He chuckled asking: “Are you afraid of bats? But did you grow up with scary werewolves and are you afraid of little bats!? You’re kidding me, aren’t you? ”

“I don’t know why but I’m terrified of them even though I’ve never seen them.”

“Follow me and see where you step the floor is pretty bad.”

“Okay, daddy!” I said sarcastically and was surprised by his response.

“Be careful when you call me that, you may find yourself in a situation you wouldn’t expect.”

“About what…”

“Here we go!” Nathan cut it short, pulling my hand gently.

At a certain point in the cave it was pitch dark: “I don’t see anything”; I said with a note of fear in my voice.

“I’m sorry but I sometimes forget that humans don’t have night vision activated.”

“Night vision activated, huh!”

“Sorry”; he said with uncertainty.

“It sounded like you were talking about a camera.” He chuckled again, it was a delightful sound, in a scary place. I stepped on something slippery that made me lose my balance, screamed and at the same time we heard a deafening sound of wings and the screech of bats.

“Come here, Little Bird!” Immediately after, I felt relieved. Nathan had picked me up like a bride.

“Nathan ...“; I said surprised.

“Would you rather walk and fall in the dark or stay safe in my arms?”

“What kind of question is that?! Of course I prefer to be in your arms, but I don’t want to be a burden.”

“First thing: you are very light, so light that I could catch you with just one finger. Second thing: I would do anything for you, even carry you if you weighed 80 kg.”

“Third what?”

“No, there are only two points!”

“But usually, when you make a list, you put at least three points.”

“Okay, Teacher. Third thing: Don’t complain when I take you in my arms. Know that I do it with love. It is as if I said to you:” I love you, my little Bird! ”

“I love you, my love”

“Say it again!”

“I love you, my love!”

“This is much better.” I kissed him in the dark, without seeing where, it looked like a cheekbone. He walked a little longer, along the narrow and winding corridors in the depths of the cavern. At one point I began to see, at the end of that corridor there was light.

“We’re almost there!” Nathan informed me, thus answering a question I hadn’t even had time to ask.

The closer we got to the light, the more I could hear the sound of the water.

“What is this sound of water?” I asked curiously even though I already knew Nathan’s answer.

“We have arrived, now you will see!”

As soon as we entered the light I saw a waterfall. The water ran violently between the rocks and fell into a pool. The roar of the water was so loud that a constant echo could be heard between the dark rock walls on the ceiling was a crater opening through which natural light entered. Nathan and his wolf were explorers, they had shown me things that, if it weren’t for them, I would never have seen in my life.

“What do you think about it?”

“Wow… just wow!”

He chuckled: “Yeah, exactly what I said too when I saw it yesterday.”

“This place is ... I can’t find an adjective that describes the beauty of this place. Even gorgeous, wonderful, it doesn’t seem to be enough to describe it.” I started undressing: “Would you like to take a bath?”

“I was about to ask this question. I was expecting a bit of a tantrum from you.”

“Tantrums, me?! And why? What kind of tantrums did you expect?”

“I don’t have a costume, for example it’s typical of girls.”

“What do I need the costume for if there is no one but us here?!”

“Right observation!”

“Then there is nothing that we have not already seen ...” I said already naked entering the water and showing a mischievous grin.

“You, you are a little devil!” He made me so sure of myself, he magnified my self-esteem, his deep love for my body. Every girl in the world deserved to have love like that!

I swam up under the waterfall and stopped under the cool stream of water. After a while I felt Nathan’s arms wrap me in a hug. I opened my eyes and all I saw in him was lust and love. A combination that lit the fire from within the bowels of my essence.

He kissed me passionately, like a hungry animal, invited to eat his favorite dish.

“Nathan ...” I said, taking my lips away from him to breathe.

“Try again, Mate!”

“Falco…”

“Exactly! You promised to give me a chance, do I remember correctly?”

“No, I mean yes. I just wasn’t prepared. I felt something different in the kiss ...”

“We are different, very different; but I assure you that our deep love and devotion to you are the same!”

“If Nathan agrees then that’s fine with me!” He stood for a moment with his gaze lost in the void, in the meantime I was swimming towards the shore. I was not even halfway through that I felt myself being lifted into the water.
