Chapter 452: Give me back my baby
Juana mulled it over for a moment, came to her senses and nodded, "Yes, I'll go and find her."
In the hotel room, Agnes smiled in triumph, only, in that smile, there was a touch of viciousness. Eloise, fight me and I'll never let you get back on your feet again.
The following day.
Hector drives Eloise to work and the two are inseparable after not seeing each other for a few days.
When they reached the Thompson Group floor, Hector was still reluctant to let her go.
After a few more minutes of delay, Eloise was able to get out of the car, her lips still red, and she almost fled into the front door of the office.
Hector, behind her, waited until she was out of sight before starting the car and leaving.
Eloise had only just arrived at the office when her mobile phone dinged with a message. She thought it was Hector and immediately pulled it out, muttering to herself that she had just been separated and was not sending any messages, but her heart was sweet.
The message, however, was not from Hector, but from an unknown number.
"One thing about Solomon, want to know, see you at the cafe at twelve."
Eloise flipped through it several times and wondered a little who had sent her the message and, what could it be about Solomon?
Needless to say, this message piqued Eloise's interest, as nothing about Solomon was too good to miss.
When the time came, Eloise went to the cafe specified by the other party.
The cafe was a bit crowded and Eloise looked outside for a while, thinking everyone looked like they were sending her a message, unable to tell exactly who it was, so she simply walked in.
As soon as she entered, she immediately noticed that there was a woman in the booth on her left who kept looking at her. Even when she came into contact with her eyes, the woman didn't avert them, and Eloise was sure that it was this woman who had asked her out!
She walked straight over and before she could say anything, the woman stood up in a flash, startling Eloise. "You..." Before the sentence was finished, the woman straightened up and fell to her knees in front of her. Eloise was stunned, how this was a knee in the air, no, you can't say a word, because she hadn't said a word yet. With so many people in the café, Eloise rushed to her aid for fear of being spotted, "What's going on here?"
The woman looked at her with tears in her eyes, "Please, Miss Eloise, please give me back Solomon and Hector, please." Eloise froze, her outstretched hand retracting without touching the woman.
The woman was pleading, and Eloise, her mind in turmoil, subconsciously asked, "What are you talking about?"
"I know that you are Hector's wife now and you have the right to say no, but I can't help it, I am Solomon's mother and I love Hector, very much, please make it right and give Solomon a healthy family." The woman pressed on, not listening to Eloise's words.
Eloise's heart twisted hard and her expression was inexplicable as she asked rhetorically, "You're Solomon's mother?"
"Yes, I am Solomon's real mother, Miss Eloise, you love Solomon too, don't you, you don't want Solomon to be without his real mother, promise me that." Eloise took a step back, her face full of shock.
She never thought that the day would come when Solomon's own mother came to her and she was pleading with her to step aside, how could this happen? "What the hell is going on?" She settled down and finally found her voice.
The woman cried and went over the same thing she had said to Mrs Matriarch earlier, and Eloise listened numbly, her head in turmoil.
Every now and then a few words pop up, so that's how Solomon came to be, she's Solomon's mother, she's really good looking, no wonder Solomon is so exquisite.
It occurred to me again that this was the same woman who had a son with Hector and who said that she loved him and wanted to give Solomon a full family.
Eloise's heart ached so much she couldn't breathe, and she sat straight up in the sofa chair, her back straightened, her hands on the table, squeezed tightly into a ball.
Juana peeked at her and cried some more, about how hard it had been to find Solomon all these years, and how she refused to give up no matter what when she finally found him.
Eloise moved the realisation to her face and asked calmly, "What proof do you have that you are Solomon's real mother?"
Juana fished out her phone album to show Eloise, which had flipped a picture of Solomon as a newborn, wrapped in swaddling clothes.
Almost immediately, Eloise recognised it.
"This is a picture of him when he was a newborn, exceptionally well behaved, even the doctor complimented him and said he was the best looking baby he had ever seen." Juana spoke wistfully, her gaze full of tenderness.
With a dull ache in her heart, Eloise forced herself to calm down and questioned, "If that's the case, why did you abandon Solomon and only now come to meet him?"
"I couldn't help it, I had no choice." Juana's voice was heavily nasal as she said pitifully, "I was unmarried and pregnant at the time, my family wanted me to abort the baby, I didn't want to, it was my first child with Hector, how could I possibly do it, but I couldn't defy my family, so I had to sneak out."
Eloise listened woodenly.
"Then the family found out, and they took me back, to take me to the hospital, to have an abortion." Juana's voice was muffled.
The strange thing is that Eloise, who clearly hasn't experienced it, seems to be able to relate to it. Probably, she really does think of Solomon as her own son, which is why she can't help but feel the fear when she hears that he was almost knocked off.
Juana continued, "I explained the situation to the doctor, escaped from the hospital and hid in the east before I finally got rid of my family and, ten months later, gave birth to my baby. I was particularly afraid of pain and when I gave birth to my baby, it hurt for a day and a night, but I don't regret it at all, it was my baby and I don't regret bringing him into the world."
Eloise couldn't resist asking, "Then why did you abandon him later?"
Juana laughed bitterly, "Because my family came to me, they stole my baby while I was asleep, then when I woke up, told me that the baby had been given away and to stop thinking about what was there and find someone to marry, but I have a baby, how could I?"
"Miss Eloise," Juana said stubbornly, looking up, "I know I'm responsible for this, I'm not shirking my responsibilities, but I couldn't help it at the time, so please be understanding of what it's like to be a mother and give me back my baby." Eloise didn't know what to feel when she heard that Juana had given birth to Solomon despite defying her family, and that she was Solomon's mother after all the suffering she had endured for him.
"I'm sorry, it's not up to me." Eloise said, almost a little woefully, as a wetness welled up in her eyes that she couldn't contain.
